Soyoung's morning routine was like clockwork. Every day, she would wake up at 6:00 AM, eat a quick breakfast, and head to the train station for her commute to school. The city was always bustling at that hour, with people rushing to work or school, their faces blending into a familiar blur that Soyoung had grown accustomed to. Today, however, something was different. As Soyoung stood on the platform waiting for the train, she felt a sense of anticipation, though she couldn’t pinpoint why. Perhaps it was the crisp autumn air or the way the sunlight filtered through the trees, casting long shadows on the ground. Whatever it was, it made her heart race a little faster than usual. When the train finally arrived, Soyoung stepped inside, scanning the crowded carriage for an empty seat. Most of the seats were already occupied, but she managed to find one near the window. She settled in, pulling out her phone to check the time. 7:15 AM. She still had plenty of time before school started. As the train rumbled along the tracks, Soyoung glanced around at the other passengers. Most of them were absorbed in their own worlds, either staring blankly out the window or engrossed in their phones. But then, out of the corner of her eye, she noticed someone new. A boy, probably around her age, stood near the doors. He had striking features—a sharp jawline, tousled black hair that fell just above his eyes, and a tall, lean frame. But what caught Soyoung's attention the most was the large black luggage he was holding. It seemed out of place in the usual morning crowd of briefcases and school bags.
