Chapter 33
FATIMA WOKE UP WITH her body feeling heavy and her chest feeling so sore and painful because of the gunshot wound. She slowly lifted her head and confusedly looked around the room. She furrowed her eyebrows, trying to determine what the hell was happening to her.
"FATIMA!" She heard someone shout and she looked up and blinked a couple of times, and saw Hannah tied up to a chair in front of her. Her eyes widened in horror and as she looked down, she saw herself tied up as well and was unable to move.
"W-where am I?" she asked as she tried freeing herself.
"Oh my god, thank god you're alive." Hannah sighed in relief.
"Those witches took you- and dragged me here as well!!" she screamed in frustration.
"Witches?" Fatima asked in confusion.
"Urghhh!"
Footsteps from a distance were heard and Hannah shut her mouth. A woman came in and Fatima's eyes widened. "Ah, my daughter," the woman said as she stared at Fatima.
"You are not my mother anymore," Fatima said with a clenched jaw.
"Ah, I forgot I confessed I'm not your biological mother. But then again, I'm the only one you have left! Your mother died- I took you in with me and your father, then your father died. And I was left to take care of you," she said with a wide smile and Fatima scoffed.
"You never took care of me, nor my brothers!" Fatima shouted and the woman laughed. Hannah stared at Fatima with pity.
"You were never there for us and now you sacrifice me for what? Money?! How is that caring for me!" Fatima was enraged. Her face was starting to sweat while her eyes were burning with fire inside them. Now that she's already experienced being kidnapped, her bravery grew stronger the second time she got kidnapped again.
"Why is she here?" Fatima asked as she turned to Hannah who's also tied up.
"Didn't you know? She helped with your investigation by pretending to help us," she exclaimed with a clenched jaw as she looked over at Hannah who's rolling her eyes. Fatima's eyebrows furrowed as she stared at Hannah. (She helped?) she thought to herself.
"Besides, both of you look similar. I can just give both of you to that old man and get twice the money!" her mother bragged and Fatima shifted in her seat in frustration.
"Old man? Ew!" Hannah exclaimed.
"You sick fuck!" Fatima exclaimed to her mother and she only chuckled in response.
"That's not how you should talk to your mother, Fatima," she said with a fake yet sweet smile. Fatima stared at her before looking at Hannah again.
"At least give me to someone hot, my god," Hannah mumbled to herself and Fatima eyed her up and down. (Is that really what she's thinking right now?) she thought to herself.
Fatima's mother shook her head before leaving the room. While she was outside, Fatima noticed that Hannah does look a bit like her now that she thinks about it. "Stop staring at me," Hannah said before rolling her eyes.
"We could be dead by tomorrow, you know," Fatima said and she sighed.
Hannah looked at her and eyed her up and down. "Are you... okay?" Hannah asked politely and Fatima raised an eyebrow.
"Concerned?"
"No, just curious."
A couple of minutes later, Fatima saw an old man walk in. Of course, she can never forget that face of his. She's disgusted, almost as if she's going to vomit right there on the spot. "You really couldn't take no for an answer and decided to kidnap me?" she asked boldly and the man smiled.
"I missed you.. Fatima..." he said ominously.
"I wish I could say the same to you," she said and scoffed.
"Who's this here?" The old man turned to Hannah who looked disgusted by him as well. "Ew," she whispered to herself and looked away from him.
"Two for one, huh?" The man chuckled.
"Escort them to their room. We're leaving tomorrow." The old man left the room while people surrounded Fatima and Hannah and they were guided to their shared room.
They were thrown in the room but to their surprise, it looks decent. There are two beds, a bathroom, and a walk-in closet. Fatima held onto her shoulder as she walked around the room to try and find anything to escape with. Hannah looked at her while she just stood by the door.
"Aren't you going to help?" Fatima asked and she only shrugged in response.
"Go rest."
"What do you mean rest? We'd be dead if I rest! Maybe not dead but enslaved!" Fatima exclaimed with anger and frustration as she looked around the room. Hannah sighed before pulling her arm and pushing her onto the bed. "I'll look around," she declared and Fatima blinked a couple of times.
"I thought you hated me?" she asked and Hannah stopped.
"Before, I did."
"What changed?"
"I- don't know," Hannah answered before clearing her throat and looking around the room. She went to the bathroom and saw a small window but she's for certain they can crawl out of there since they're both thin and almost the same size. The only problem is the glass.
She went back to where Fatima was and saw her laying down and sleeping. "I don't want to rest, my ass," she whispered to herself before scoffing and looking around further.
She saw a mirror and looked at Fatima's reflection. She sighed as she looked back at the bed and Fatima. "Hey!" she shouted and Fatima immediately woke up.
"What!" Fatima screamed.
"How many siblings do you have?" she asked and Fatima sat down with a raised eyebrow.
"Two brothers," she answered.
"AND before you get any ideas, they're underaged," Fatima added and Hannah's eyes widened.
"What! Ew! I wasn't even thinking of that, the hell!" Hannah complained with widened eyes and crossed arms. Fatima scoffed and chuckled lightly.
Once Hannah calmed down, she turned to the mirror again. "What if you had a sister, hypothetically?" she asked and Fatima's eyebrows furrowed.
"But I don't," she answered.
"I know. Hypothetically," Hannah said and rolled her eyes. Fatima started thinking but couldn't think of anything.
"I don't know... a younger sister would be nice?" she answered, a bit unsure about it.
"No. An older sister, what if you had one?" Hannah clarified and Fatima pouted and looked up at the ceiling before laying down again. She sighed and shrugged. "I would've probably treated her like a motherly figure since my mother- well, not really my mother, but that woman didn't treat me like a daughter. And I still can't believe my biological mother is dead," Fatima said and Hannah shifted from the mirror.
"I have no idea what to feel, I don't even remember her..." she mumbled sadly.
"I do," Hannah mumbled but Fatima couldn't really hear her.
"Huh?" she asked and Hannah laughed it off before going to the other bed and laying down. "Nothing."
After a couple of minutes of silence, Fatima broke it off. "How are we going to escape?" she asked and Hannah turned to her.
"Tonight, we can escape out of the window in the bathroom. The only problem is the glass, it seems sturdy. We'd also be suffering from cuts because of it after we get out," Hannah explained while they're both laying down and Fatima nodded.
"Just obey what they tell us to do for now till it reaches dawn," Fatima said and Hannah nodded in response.
The door bursts open and a woman they don't recognize comes in and left clothes for them to change into. "Please change into these clothes and go to the living room later."
They checked the clothes and Fatima was horrified to see how revealing the clothes were. Hers was more revealing than Hannah's clothes. "I have these back at home," Hannah said while eyeing the clothes given to her and Fatima wrinkled her nose.
"I can't wear this," she said and Hannah's eyebrows raised.
"Why? You're still in your hospital gown, you need to wear something," Hannah said before looking around the room and opening the closet and found a shirt Fatima could wear and handed it to her.
"I'll change into shorts and a t-shirt," Fatima said before going to the bathroom.
While she was done changing to the shorts, she heard Hannah yelling. "Are you done? They're rushing me, my god!" Hannah exclaimed and opened the bathroom door.
She looked at Fatima and saw she was putting the t-shirt on. "Oh, sorry-" She immediately closed the door but couldn't help but notice the scars on Fatima's back.
Fatima went out of the bathroom and was about to walk past her but she stopped Fatima. "What happened to your back?" Fatima looked at her and blinked a couple of times.
"Ah- I got abused," she answered like it was nothing and removed Hannah's grip. Hannah didn't know what to react and instead went to the bathroom and changed.
After that, they were led to the living room where they smelled food coming out of the kitchen. They're both surprised that they're being treated as guests here and not as prisoners taken by them. Nonetheless, they can't put their guard down just because they're showing hospitality.
They were given good food for dinner. "Why didn't you wear the clothes I gave?" the old man asked and Fatima's jaw clenched.
"I didn't want to." The man chuckled and nodded before turning to Hannah and she smiled sweetly at him. "I think we're done eating, I'll see you tomorrow," Hannah said in a flirty way before grabbing Fatima and dragging her to their room. The plan will be set in motion tonight.Download Novelah App
