Chapter 34

When they went back to the room, Hannah sat down on the bed. "That was disgusting! He almost touched me!" she complained and tried shaking it off. She looks like a ghost appeared in front of her by how pale she is looking. She's too disgusted by it.
Fatima changed to pants once she saw pants in the closet so the shards of the glass won't hurt her. She also threw pants to Hannah who's still trying to get over what happened. "I even flirted with him!" she complained, almost in tears.
"Aish, put that on." Hannah pouted before taking the pants and putting them on and putting on a better top as well.
"Wait- your wound is bleeding through," Hannah said and pointed at her wound on her chest. Fatima looked down before going in front of the mirror and sighing. "It's fine, we'll be able to escape anyway," Fatima told her. Hannah stood up and looked through the closet and saw a jacket. She grabbed it and handed it over to Fatima.
"Wear that," she commanded and Fatima took it before putting it on. "Sit down and rest," Hannah added.
"But-" she tried complaining.
"I'll look for something to break the window," Hannah whispered so no one can hear before looking around the room. Fatima couldn't do anything but watch and sit down on the bed while holding her chest.
After a few minutes, she heard shattering in the bathroom and her eyes widened. Someone might've heard outside the room, that it was too loud to miss. She ran to the bathroom and saw Hannah placing clothes to block the shards.
"I'm going out now, okay? Make sure to follow behind. Here's a chair to get up to the window," Hannah said and placed the chair down in front of the window before stepping on it and climbing to the window. "Be careful-" Fatima said as she wrinkled her nose at what she's seeing.
It took a few tries but Hannah got out of the window and Fatima heard her fall to the ground. She immediately climbed up and looked out the window. "I'm fine.. just a few cuts," Hannah whispered, trying not to alert anyone.
Fatima looked out the window and tried to climb out as well and a shard cut her arm. "Fuck," she whispered and put her head back inside before trying again. Doing this felt like an eternity for her even if it's only been five minutes since she's tried getting out.
After a few tries, she successfully puts her upper body out, she only needs to push the chair and let her entire body out. The only problem, the fall is high. "What the fuck? How'd you survive that fall!" Fatima exclaimed as Hannah looked like she didn't fall off a big height.
"Just jump!" Hannah urged while extending her arms.
"Don't tell me you're going to try and catch me? Go away," she exclaimed before pushing the chair and when she thought she was going to fall, she didn't. Her eyes widened when she felt a pair of hands on her legs.
"And where do you think you're going?" She heard the old man and both Hannah and Fatima's eyes widened.
"Go ask for help!" Fatima exclaimed before struggling with the man and getting dragged inside.
"Fatima!" Hannah exclaimed before messing her hair in frustration and looking up the window again. She breathed heavily before looking around and running to where she thought the road is. She ran for a while and finally saw the road but it's almost empty. She caught her breath and she sighed.
She ran in front of the nearest car that was driving. She was waiting for impact but she felt nothing. She opened her eyes and saw that the car stopped. She breathed heavily as the door opened. "Hannah?" the man questioned.
"Chris?" she questioned.
"Chris! You've got to help Fatima, she's still inside!" Hannah exclaimed in a panic as she ran to Christopher and grabbed his hand.
"Where? Lead me to her," he said before going through his car and grabbing a gun.
"W-wait. Where's the police? I don't want you hurt," she said and he sighed before going past her and running to where she came from. She frustratedly followed behind him with no choice.
They eventually arrived at the window and he looked up and saw that the window was narrow but he might be able to fit inside. He grabbed things to stand on and finally reached the top of the window. "It's too dangerous!" Hannah exclaimed but in a low tone.
He ignored her and proceeded to go inside. When he successfully went in, he looked out the window down at her. "Go to my car and tell the police this exact location." Hannah, with no choice, started running to his car.
Christopher carefully looked around the bedroom before unlocking the door and going out of the room. He looked to the left before turning to the right and found no one there and he sighed in relief before walking to the stairs. He carefully went down but saw no one there. He was confused, where is everyone?
Guards should be here protecting the hideout... but why isn't there any?
He walked around the first floor before looking around the rooms. Once he was at the final door, he heard shouting. "Help me!" His eyes widened when he realized it was from Fatima. Everything went silent after. He ran around the first floor to find her, and finally, he found her.
"Ah, Fatima. Why don't you tell him what I told you?" He stopped when he saw her mother standing next to her.
Tears fell from Fatima's eyes as he looked at Christopher. He looked around the room and saw the television playing the CCTV footage of what happened years ago when her father died. His eyes widened as he opened his mouth to talk but no words came. out of his mouth.
"C-Chris.." she whispered and her breathing became ragged.
"Is this true?" Fatima questioned while tears were falling down her face. Christopher closed his eyes as his eyebrows furrowed before opening his eyes again. "Fatima..."
"Is it true?!" Fatima commanded and her mother smiled in satisfaction.
"Were you the one who was killed.. my father?" she questioned again.
"Darling, you saw for yourself. The footage couldn't lie," the woman urged. Christopher pointed his gun at her but she also pointed her gun at him.
"Confess, Christopher," the woman said with a smile and his jaw clenched. Fatima waited in anticipation.
"Tell me, Christopher!" Fatima shouted.
"I did. I was drunk.. I didn't know what I was doing, Fatima!" He yelled and the woman laughed evilly as she watched the two.
"Yeah, that's it. Now you know the truth..." she whispered to Fatima.
"Didn't you tell me you want to kill the person who killed your father?" she urged Fatima even more. Christopher furrowed his eyebrows.
She suddenly handed the gun to Fatima, making Christopher step back. "Fatima-" She pointed the gun at him in rage and he froze in place. He pointed the gun at her as well.
"Fatima.. don't do this," he said.
"Do it," the woman said.
"Get revenge, Fatima. Shoot him," she added.
Tears fell from Fatima's eyes even more as she looked at Christopher. The video evidence couldn't stop playing inside her head, everything that was told to her was a lie. She thought the police couldn't identify the suspect but it was all covered up by Christopher's family. Justice wasn't given to her father because of them.
"Fatima.. calm yourself down. I was going to turn myself in after this whole mess!" Christopher said, begging her to put the gun down. Fatima breathed heavily, gripping the gun tightly. "Go ahead..." the woman said, trying to convince her to shoot.
"I didn't know about it until a few weeks ago! It was my mother who planned it. Even that woman you considered as a mother was in on it," he explained as she gripped tighter.
"You killed my father! The most important person to me!" she shouted in rage.
"But you're right... it wasn't just you who did this." Fatima got up from her seat and turned around, shooting the mother she knew for all these years on the leg, the same place where she got shot by the cop.
The woman screamed in pain and Fatima looked at her with cold eyes. She breathed heavily before dropping the gun and backing away. The woman she once considered as a mother screamed in agony. Christopher grabbed the gun on the floor before grabbing Fatima.
The police suddenly arrived and entered the room. They dragged Christopher and Fatima away while they picked up the woman and dragged her outside as well as she screamed in pain.
Fatima was led outside and Grian was there waiting for her. He ran to her and hugged her. Tears fell harder as she hugged him back. She sighed in relief, finally, everything was over. "Grian..." she whispered and he hushed her as he massaged her head.
"Shhhhh.. it's fine now," he said and kissed her forehead.
"I'm here," he whispered as he hugged her tighter and she cried harder. The rain started to fall as they stood there, in the middle of chaos with police storming in the house while they stood in front of it. Hannah looked at Fatima in relief when she saw that she was saved.
Christopher stood there in silence as he looked at Fatima in sorrow and felt the guilt consume him. Now that she knows everything, she can turn him in if she wants as well.
