"I'm scared..." Fatima whispered. All her bravery was brought down once she learned the truth. It's almost as if she doesn't have power over her life, feeling hopeless about everything. She's been living in a lie her whole life. Her mother isn't her real mother, her biological mother is dead, and the person who killed her father is her ex-boyfriend. "Come on, let's take you to the hospital," Grian said and was leading her to the ambulance but it was too much for her. She felt lightheaded and collapsed but Grian caught her. Her eyes closed and he immediately carried her to the ambulance. "We need help!" he screamed. Fatima was brought to a better hospital with great security. Her arm was treated since it has a massive cut from the shard of glass. The bandages on her chest were changed and her wound got cleaned. She was still passed out during this and was brought to a high-security hospital room for protection to help her feel better. The fugitives were taken behind bars to get interrogated and to wait for a trial. Everyone felt relieved that the people responsible were taken to prison. The news spread about what happened and they all pity Fatima and her family for what happened. The majority who helped were rewarded by Christopher for their kindness and generosity. While Grian was looking over Fatima, he couldn’t help but remember what he saw. The day he was working at the company, his curiosity got the best of him and he checked the document he found odd. [Flashback Start] While Grian was scanning contracts and documents, he couldn’t help but eye the document he found a few days ago. Since this is a work laptop, it should be fine to look into it, right? In case something important is in the document. He moved the mouse cursor to the document and after a few seconds of thinking, he clicked and opened it. He found video footage and he eyed it. “What is this…” he whispered to himself while looking at it. He moved the cursor and played the video. At first, it was only a video recording of the road which confused him a lot. Why would a recording of a road be on this laptop? Was this a mistake? Maybe this wasn’t meant to be there. As the video played further, he saw a familiar car drive by and another car suddenly crashed into them. His eyes widened as he grip the table. He breathed heavily as he confusedly looked at the video. (Where did I see that car again?) he thought to himself. Memories from before suddenly came back. He remembered when Fatima’s father picked her up using that same car. “It can’t be…” he whispered as he waited for the video to end. A couple of seconds later, the video switched angles and showed a massive crash in the distance. His lips parted when he saw the car flip over. He zoomed the video to the car and saw Fatima going out of the car and asking people for help. His eyebrows furrowed, confused as to why this footage was here. “What the hell?” he asked. As the video fast forward, he saw the man from the other car get out. He squinted his eyes as he zoomed into the video. “Why is he.. familiar?” As the angle switched, he saw the man’s face and was utterly shocked. He couldn’t believe what he saw. This can’t be true. Why of all people was the person that hit their car his friend? That is impossible. (No way,) he thought to himself. [Flashback End] Grian went out of Fatima’s hospital room and found Christopher talking with the police. He grabbed his friend’s shoulder before saying, “Can we talk?” Chris turned to him and raised his eyebrows before nodding. They went somewhere private where no one could hear him. “Listen, I shouldn’t have looked through the other documents in your laptop but I found some CCTV footage,” he explained and Christopher’s eyes widened. “You saw?” Chris asked calmly and he nodded. Both of them sighed and Grian put his hand in his pocket. “Is that what really happened?” Grian wanted confirmation, and he’s getting it. “Yes.” Grian breathed heavily, not knowing how to react to his friend. He looked down at his shoes as he sighs again. “Fatima knows,” Chris said and Grian looked up with raised eyebrows. “She just found out earlier and I don’t think she’s going to forgive me,” he added and Grian listened carefully. “Take care of her, Grian. I know you love her, and she might even feel the same way,” he further said with a sad smile. “What are you trying to imply..?” Grian questioned. “I’m turning myself in,” Chris said and his eyes widened. Chris was about to walk off but he grabbed him by the arm. “Are you serious?” he asked and his friend nodded with a sad smile. Tears formed in Christopher’s eyes. “I’m sorry,” he apologized and looked up to prevent his tears from falling. “But the company, everything you worked for?” Grian asked with furrowed eyebrows. “Justice, Grian. Justice needs to be given to her family. The company, however, cannot fall under my mother. She was hiding the truth too. She was behind everything,” he explained and Grian couldn’t believe what he’s hearing. “Chris..” “The company will be given to you. You know how the company operates, how things go, you’re the best candidate for it,” he said and Grian’s eyes widened. “But, Christopher. I can’t do it without you. Owning a company is such a huge responsibility and I was only there as your assistant-“ He got cut off. “I know you can do it.” Christopher removed his grip and walked away. Grian stared at him and still doesn’t know how to react. A huge responsibility is coming his way and his best friend will be sent to prison if he confesses. Grian sat down on a chair and breathed heavily. A WEEK AFTER FATIMA woke up to Philippe and Grian by her side. “Tell me I’m not dead,” she said as soon as she woke up. Grian eyes widened and immediately called in a doctor. “Am I?” she asked a bit afraid before looking at Grian again and grabbing his neck and pulling his face closer to her. “You look too real, am I alive?” she questioned and he blinked a couple of times. “Y-yes…” he answered as his eyes went down to her lips, inches away from his own lips. She let go of him and looked around the room and saw Philippe. He burst into tears once she woke up. “F-fatima,” he said as he cried harder. He embraced her and she hugged him back. The doctor checked on her and found nothing wrong with her anymore. The wound on her chest is half healed while the cut on her arm was almost healed as well. She was told how to clean her wounds once she was discharged and exercises for her arms. Once the doctor was done with the check-up, she was left alone with her brother and Grian. “You’d be able to go home today,” Grian said with a smile and she smiled happily as well. She looked at him before looking at Phil. “Where’s Tim?” she asked and he looked at Grian. “At his house. We’ve been living with him,” he answered, and her mouth agape before she nodded and laughed awkwardly. “Go wait outside, I’m going to talk to Grian,” she said and Grian looked at her with raised eyebrows before pointing at himself. She nodded and once Phil was outside, she grabbed his hand. “Thank you, Grian. You’ve always helped me when we were younger and now, you’re helping me again. I don’t know how to repay you-“ She got cut off. “A kiss,” he suggested and she stopped and looked at him. “What?” He pointed at his lips and she disgustedly looked at him before rolling her eyes. “Okay, come closer,” she said and he let his face come closer to her face. She slightly sat down before facing him. He closed his eyes and she scoffed. She slapped his mouth lightly and he opened his eyes and his smile turned into a frown. “Not a chance,” she said and he scoffed before backing away. After she was discharged from the hospital, they went to his house and found Tim watching the television. She sat down next to him while Grian and Phil went to the kitchen to cook healthy food for her. Ever since the two have been staying in his house, Phil and he has gotten closer. “Did you miss me?” she asked and he nodded. She smiled happily before kissing his forehead. She looked at the television and saw that he was watching some cartoons that he seems to be obsessed with now. She looked at it and moved a bit from her seat and the channel suddenly changed. Her eyes widened and she stood up. She looked at the seat and saw that she accidentally sat down on the remote. She looked at the television and looked back at the remote. She grabbed it and was about to change the channels when she saw Christopher’s face on the screen. She listened to the report and saw him being taken to court. Her eyes widened as she watched and her lips parted. “Mr. Denver pleaded guilty for the accident that happened more than six years ago, today. The people involved were also held captive.”
