CHAPTER 30 - EPILOGUE

Epilogue 2
It was already night when I woke up, seeing Junhyuk oozing out from the window again. There's a white bandage looped around his head. I feel bad for not protecting Junhyuk properly earlier. I am too, shocked at how that woman acted all aggressive and weird after seeing us, especially me. I don't have any idea of what is she trying to say, she did mention that I have an older sister? But she was killed by my mother? I don't know, uncle never told us something like that to us. But I know mother will never do that. I get up and called Junhyuk but he only glances at me for seconds before looking back the window again.
I can feel his emotions, I can feel that he is downright upset with me and refuses to even look at me even a little bit longer. This happens many times before but even though I'm kind of getting used to this, this atmosphere still made my heartache. I know deep within his mind, he's cursing me for intervening. If I hadn't intervened in his business then that woman won't see us, she won't scare Junhyuk and he will talk to me like he used to.
I can see it, even I think I'm in the right to intervene in his every business- Junhyuk was acting so stubborn now than before and needed to be put in his place, and to learn to respect his elder. Uncle told us many times to stay in our room when there's a visitor because we can't trust anyone, just us. But he always comes out when I am asleep, gossiping. There's a time that we were almost caught by that guy who always visits with Panama's hat.
I don't know what to do anymore. On one hand, it could be interpreted as a sign of respect, but on the other hand, it’s disheartening. If other people think I'm a bad brother- then maybe yes?
I'm more mature enough than Junhyuk. I'm the older brother even it's still confusing for me how that could happen. But that wasn't the fact. Junhyuk needs my protection and I'll protect him at all coast. I get off of the bed and scooted beside him.
I can't see anything from the darkness aside from the massive farm with light streets and cars passing by. I looked up at the sky. No stars, just darkness but I can see flash lightning inside of those thick clouds.
"You think it's going to rain?" I start while standing next to him in front of the window. He doesn’t react, he’s just standing there like a statue, stiff and unmoving. My heart clenched inside. Is my Junhyuk is getting tired of my interference and my scolding- is he getting tired of me? "Are you upset because I intervened in your gossiping?" I asked.
He glared at me and I smiled. Somehow I feel a little relieved but that relief faded when he looked back outside; watching the cars passing.
"You're upset then. Hey Junhyuk, I'm sorry okay?"
No response from him, except for his shallow breathing. I lift his hand to hold his arm but doing so he flinches, his eyes suddenly terrified. I swiftly remove my hand, a bit troubled. Why he does look scared?
"That woman earlier almost got you." He silently said after a long silence.
"Yeah. That's scary. I hope she won't come back." I agree and looked at him.
"I'm so scared earlier. I have never been that scared in my life. I don't know but that woman is scary, feels like she's hiding something. I'm scared too when she trying to get you." He mumbled, looking down at his small hands.
I softly placed my hands on his. He move his head to look at me but the sound of the car captured his attention and move his head back to the window. I pouted but look out the window too. I see four cars pulled over in front of the house with more than ten people coming out of the cars. Holding a baseball bat and batons. The man with the suit opened the door and that man with Panama came out with the same woman who went crazy after seeing me. As soon as they exited the vehicle, the man smiled- spreading his both arms wide, screaming like a proud man. He signs his man to raid the house.
I immediately pulled Junhyuk away and closed the curtains.
"What are those? Why are they here?" Junhyuk asked, confused.
"Junhyuk- " I gasped when he pulled his hand away from my grip.
"I want to know." He said, running past me but I quickly snapped my hands and he turned to look at me. I shook my head in fear.
I can sense danger. We need to leave or hide. I knew it wasn't safe here anymore. I could feel it. I motioned him to come with me and hide in the closet. We would hide together and leave soon if these bad guys hasn't left yet. But, horrifyingly, he didn't listen. He glared at me, sticking his tongue at me. I could feel my whole body shiver in terror as he turned his back to me and started skipping out of the room. I gasped, running up after him.
I see him peeping through the stairs, watching the bad guys breaking the door. I looked around to find uncle and see him looking all panic while rummaging the drawer. He took out his gun from the drawer and enough bullets. When he noticed us, he placed his finger in front of his lips. Uncle sign me to go hide in the basement with Junhyuk. I nodded and pulled Junhyuk but the door opened with a loud thud as the bad guys' barged in like a swat team on the tv.
The man with a Panama hat grimaced at the sight of the inside of the house, as though it was dirty. I looked inside the house and there seemed to be nothing different about the cleanliness.
"Oh! I hate wooden houses seriously!" He said, spitting the floor. The man turned to his uncle when he heard the gun.
"Get out of my house!" He warned while pointing the gun at the man.
"So scary Mr. Gong Pil. Chill, I don't want my shoes to be dirtied by blood." The man smiled.
"What are you doing here?! I told you I will not sell this house!"
"Then you won't pay your debt?" He looked at the whole house. "This cozy house can't sell in billion though. I heard you have two kids."
Uncle glared at the crazy woman who only smirk at him. I can feel my blood boil just seeing her stupid smirk!
"Don't you dare touch them!"
"Yes, I do especially I will buy those children at a high price. Human is more expensive than property."
One guy walked behind uncle while swinging his bat in a circle. Uncle seems didn't notice him as the guy swinging the bat over his head and hitting him on the back of his, causing him to drop the gun and fall to the floor, writhing in pain. Junhyuk gasped silently, watching the scene in horror.
Two guys went to uncle's sides and pulled him up on his arm, and another two walked in front- holding a baseball bat.
"You're worthless now Mr. Gong Pil." The man chirped, nodding his head to the other two guys.
I watched in horror as four guys begin to hit uncle with their bat, hitting every part of his body until blood splurts out of him, leaking and flowing down on the floor. I covered my mouth to prevent my voice from coming out. I move my eyes away from him and focused on Junhyuk. He's already crying while holding his mouth as well but a muffle of sobs escaping from his mouth.
I grabbed his hand, looking down the living room again. I feel my blood freeze when I saw the crazy woman looking up at us with a wide grin.
"The kids are on upstairs!" She said, ordering the guys to get us.
I begin dragging Junhyuk away as they neared us. We run to the other side of the stair to directly head to the kitchen, stumbling down the stairs. We run to the kitchen- to the exit and threw open the door with one hand, running out as fast as I could. Rain poured on us once we were outside of the house but we didn't stop. I can hear them manically laugh as if enjoying chasing us. We were nearing the street when I suddenly felt a shock of pain behind me. I yelped, letting Junhyuk go. He began to scream in fear, backing away from me. But that was a bad idea because one guy got him. I winced when I feel someone pull me up. When I looked at who it was, my blood boil in anger. She hugged me again and pulled away. She touched my face, checking if I have damage on the face.
"Are you alright? I'm sorry they hit you. You see, we just worried." She shakily said while keep touching me. I violently shook my head and looked over to Junhyuk to see him sobbing hard while one guy holding him still.
"Get away from him!" I yelled and tried to run to Junhyuk but the woman didn't let me go.
"Listen...from now on, I'll be your mother but when you grow up you'll be my husband." She said with full of joy.
This woman is sick!
I struggle away from her. "Let me go!" I scream, pushing her away. The thunderstorm is going strong as the rain and wind as well.
I cringe in disgust when she caressed my hair down to my cheeks again. She started laughing before standing up, dragging me away from Junhyuk.
"The rain is going strong now. We need to get you home. I'm sure you're going to like in there!" She chirped, smiling creepily at me.
"No! I don't want to come with crazy people like you!" I looked back at Junhyuk again and see him being dragged to the car. Junhyuk was screaming while trying to break free from their grip. But the guy who was holding him begin carrying him. He kicked in the air, screaming, thrashing away and the guy will throw him inside.
"Hyeop hyung!" I heard him scream and for some reason, the thunderstorm suddenly strike down one of the cars.
We all jump to our ground as soon the thunder hits the car causing it to explode. My heart sank realizing Junhyuk was near in that car. I bit the woman's hand and she whimpered before letting me go. I run to the car to get Junhyuk but five guys blocked my way. My head creased and my eyes sharpened. I shrieked, curling my hands into fists. A sudden growl came out from my mouth as my vision become blurred and only focused on the guys that were blocking my way to Junhyuk. I don't know what happened next, everything seems to happen in a split second.
I found myself standing behind the guys- back facing them. I can feel the sticky warmth on my hands. When I looked down at my hands, I gasp in horror. I see my nails were long and sharp and my hands covered in blood. It slowly turned back to normal, small and not sharp. I looked behind the guys and see them already dead, blood leaking out of them. My eyes move to the woman and see her smiling widely at me as if she was so proud and too happy.
"Master Hwang," She mouthed and walked to get me again but before she could get me, I run to the car. My heartbeat painfully when I see him crying inside the car while hugging his knees.
"Junhyuk!" I called and he immediately snap his head up to me. He burst into tears. He crawled to me and I hurriedly grabbed his hands. I dragged him out of the car and away from our home.
We run to the farm, blocking their calls. Blocking all the danger around us. We run fast, hearts beating fast inside our chest. I held Junhyuk's hand, tangled our fingers together. We run fast, not ever looking back. Junhyuk suddenly stop and when I looked at him, I see his right feet stuck in the mold. I pulled him and we both stumble on the mold. I quickly helped him up and we continue running again.
We arrive in the other side of the farm. I frantically breathing and Junhyuk. The rain is not that strong from here. I looked up at the street light above us. I turned to face Junhyuk, he still sniffling. I cupped his face, checking if there was any injury aside from the cut on his head. I sighed in relief. He wasn't hurt, and neither was I. We were safe for now. I can't sense the danger anymore. Maybe the guys who chasing us got lost?
"Hyung...are we safe now?" He asked, voice wavering. I nodded and smiled at him. "Why do you have fangs? Are you a vampire?" He suddenly asked while sniffling.
I frowned, moving my tongue to my teeth. I winced when my tongue touched the sharp thing on my teeth. With my clean finger, I touched my teeth. The others are just normal aside from my fangs. I frowned even more. Why did my teeth suddenly grow like this? I keep on touching it until I felt it turning back to the way it used to be. It's back to normal?
I looked back at Junhyuk again. I ruffled his wet hair with my free hand.
"You just seeing things."
We were now beside the interstate, with cars all around, and light to see. We were safe. I sobbed, holding Junhyuk close to my side. A car suddenly stops in front of us. I quickly pulled Junhyuk behind, glaring at the car in front of us. Thinking this car is from those bad guys again.
A woman wearing a white blouse with a black duster jacket and dress pants, pair of black high heels came out from the car- holding a black umbrella. A pendant with a cross looped around her neck like a necklace- it's a necklace anyway. She's looking down on us with a worried face. She's kind of an angel because of her kind face.
"Are you lost?" She kindly asked and Junhyuk shook his head. But I explain to her what happened and she seems to believe what I said. She took out her phone and dialed someone. I believe it's the police?
Minutes ago, she end her call and looked at us again. "So, you two are orphans. Come, I'll bring you to Sister Harem's."
She opened the back seat, letting us in. I was hesitant at first but when she assure me that it was okay, I jump in, pulling Junhyuk with me. The woman closed the door. I watched the woman jump into her car. She looked at us in the rear mirror. I squeezed Junhyuk's hand. She smiled wide.
"Don't be scared. Sister Harem loves kids so much. Don't worry you'll meet the other kids soon." She said and I begin to feel uneasy. I can't trust her but there's no shelter for us to stay this night.
I pulled Junhyuk, hugging him close to me as the woman smiled even more. Turning her car engine before driving away.
