Chapter 56

From Yesha's room now, Tyrel was sitting in the chair next to Yesha's bed. He has done to check all his patients so that he can see Yesha. And this afternoon he will prepare for surgery on one of his patients because he had already done to operate his the one patient that was scheduled earlier.

"Daddy," Tyrel looked at Yesha who was slowly opening her eyes.
"Doc Tyrel?" Tyrel smiled at her and Tyrel immediately supported Yesha when he saw that Yesha wanted to sit on her bed.
"Do you feel any pain?"
"Nothing, Doc, where's my dad?"
"He bought something," Tyrel said. Yesha looked at her hand when she saw the bracelet that Callista put on her hand.
"Is it from you?"
"No. That's from Callista. You were asleep when she put it in your hand."
"It's nice. Maybe she asked her mom to buy it for me because it was sudden and surprising because she gave me my favourite color. Eh, I just told her yesterday that black is my favourite color."
"Maybe. You and Callista are friends now. So you won't talk to me now, and you also won't talk to Jayson, because you have a new friend." Tyrel joked here, to which Yesha immediately shook her head.
"No, even if I have a new friend, I'll still talk to you because I'm your younger sister, right?" Yesha was laughing while she said this to Tyrel until Tyrel joined in laughing.
"Yesha, why is black your favourite color? Others say black symbolizes as---" Tyrel could not continue what he was supposed to say until Yesha continued what he was saying.
"Symbolize as death? And it symbolizes as bad luck?" Tyrel nodded while Yesha took a deep breath before she explained to Tyrel why the black color is her favourite."
"Doesn't mean black symbolizes bad luck and death. We will be afraid of the color black. For me, black is like me, and black is like other people who struggle with what they are going through. What black means to me is hope. Why? Because even if you are trapped in your dark experience, darkness will call to light to give you hope of being free from all your problems. Whatever you hide in the dark, it will make its way to someone to help them give light. It's like you, Doc. Tyrel, and your brother. You come to me willingly because I need you, because I need light from you to get out of my dark world."
Tyrel has nothing to say, because if he is the one to be asked, he really doesn't like black because all his life he has believed that black is symbolized of death.
"Hmmm Yesha, Callista gave you a piece of paper, and Carmen put it in your bag."

"I'll take a look later. I want to talk to you more. By the way, Doc, I just noticed that the girl who was with Callista is Carmen Fuentes right? The famous writer, right? Because her face was hidden yesterday, I only saw it when she stayed in Ms. Haru's room."
"Yes, she was that." Yesha was surprised and even covered her mouth with joy and shock.
"Why didn't you tell me right away? You know, she's my favourite author, and I always read her books, but let's move on doc. Do you like her?" Tyrel was silent for a long time, so Yesha just nodded.
"Silent means yes. You know, Doc, you both only get hurt when you don't admit to each other how you feel. I saw in the eyes of Ms. Carmen that she likes you and I also saw in her eyes yesterday that she was hurt when I said Doc Loreen's name. Maybe she was jealous because she thought your girlfriend was Doc Loreen." Tyrel messed Yesha's hair and stood up in his seat.
"Rest there, Yesha, and don't leave your room. Your dad is coming."
"I just woke up earlier. I rest now again?"
Tyrel just smiled at her and walked towards the door of Yesha's room, but he immediately stopped when he heard what Yesha said.
"Doc, I still want to get to know Callista better and be friends with her for a long time, but that's all. I'm going disappear here."
Tyrel immediately went back to where he had been sitting before.
"Don't even say that, Yesha. You will be fine. You will succeed in your transplant surgery. Haru says trust to god doesn't she?"
"Doc as time goes on I am losing hope in waiting for my donor."
"Yesha, have a volunteered for that."

"Really? But what if they backed away?"

Tyrel was about to speak, but the door of Yesha's room immediately opened and Yesha's older sister entered.
"S-Stephen?" Yesha was stuttering, calling out the name of the newcomer while Tyrel quietly stood up. Stephen bows to him as its respect, greeting, and gratitude. Tyrel just smiled at her and looked at Yesha for a moment before he left Yesha's room.
"Why are you here? You said you don't want to be with Dad anymore because he can't give us a good life, so you come with Mom. Are you and mommy happy that you see my dad and me having a hard time?" Yesha asked her older sister immediately after Tyrel left.
"Are you happy that your first family you left is suffering? Are you happy that my life is in danger?" Yesha cried in front of her older sister, who was standing in front of her.
"Are you happy that you are leaving us? Because me? I am happy to be with Dad. Even though you left us, I did not ask Dad to give me a good life and I did not think of coming with you and to your mom just to make my life luxurious. I am happy because it is not wealth or money that makes me happy, but the love that my father gives me. Yesha wiped away her tears, but no matter what she did it just kept running down her eyes while Stephen was also crying because of what her younger sister was saying. She had nothing to say and do because her sibling was right, she chose to come to her mother's new family so that she could escape the poor life they had before.
"Y-Yesha, my little sister."
"Don't call me a sister! Because from the moment you came with mom and left us, I forgot I had a sibling!" Yesha's loud shout caused their father and Tyrel to enter her room. Tyrel knows he has no right to get involved in their problem but he can’t stand Yesha because maybe that’s what will happen here.
"Yesha, my daughter, calms down." Yesha ignored her father instead she just looked at him for a moment."
"Why did you even come here?" Yesha asked calmly.
"I want to see you, Yesha, and I want to help you."
"You want to see me? You want to see me for what? For you to laugh at me right in front of me? And tell me I'm a fool because I didn't come with you or because I didn't come with mom, so we hope my life isn't like this now, is it?" Yesha faked a laugh before continuing to speak.
"Help me? When dad asked for help from your mother, he was just kicked out. What kind of help will you do? You better leave here because I don't know you, Ms., and I don't even know your mother, who is she."
At this point, Stephen was deeply hurt by what her youngest sister had said. Yesha lay down on her bed, and she covered herself with a blanket and bit her lip while still crying so that she wouldn't make a noise.
"Yesha, I know, mom and I, we do a lot have been to you and to dad. I'm not asking you to forgive us right away, I want to help you and dad so I can get back at you."
"If you give us money to pay for my operation, we will not accept that. You can leave now." Yesha said, and she closed her eyes from under the blanket.
Stephen quietly left as her father helped her out of Yesha's room.
"Doc I know you're the only one she can talk to properly and listen to you," William said to Tyler. Tyrel just patted William's shoulder, and when William and Stephen got out, Tyrel sat down in a chair.
More than half a minute had passed, but Tyrel was still quietly watching Yesha, who until now was still quietly crying.
"Doctor?" Yesha suddenly called him, and Tyrel immediately respond, to know her that he was in her room.
"Hmmm?"
"Why is that? I told myself when they left us I was not mad with them. Because I understand them. They chose the luxurious life that dad couldn't give us, but why is that? The pain I feel that time I remember what happened to us in our family. Did I make a bad person earlier?"
"Yesha, I know you're a good person, you were just carried away by your anger earlier."
"You know, when I saw my older sister earlier, I wanted to tell her I want to make a happy memory with her and with my dad. In case I disappeared, I wanted to leave them a memory with them but my mouth said something else."
Silence again prevailed in the room until Tyrel glanced at his watch.
"Yesha, take a rest and don't think about what happened earlier. Also, stop saying that you will disappear because it won't happen. Next week you are scheduled for your transplant surgery."
Even though Tyler hadn’t heard a word from Yesha, he knew that Yesha was happy that she was going to be operated on. When Tyler gets outside the room he sees Stephen and William standing in front of Yesha’s room.
"She is resting now," Tyrel said and bowed his head before leaving in front of them so he could check on his patients.
