Ada father, pastor Ojo was brought up by one of the early missionaries. His mother died when he was only three years old. four years later his too died and he became an orphan, After his father burial ceremony, which it can best describes as of slave his parents relatives refused to accept him. They claimed that in lifetime Ojo parents never badly neglected them and as results of that they will not like to see their child much less have any thing to do with in common with him. But as fate would have it, a White missionary came across the now destitute Ojo crying on the road. He stopped to find out what is the matter with him. The little Ojo then tried to tell him the take of his woes, but the missionary could not understand his language, which was the only language the boy could speak English. But with the help of an interpreter, the missionary was able to understand his situation. Hearing how some people callously visited the sins of a couple on their child, the clergyman was moved to pity and took the boy home and began to fend for him . The young Ojo stayed with the missionary for about eighteen years. During these years he got first school leaving certificate (TC11). He also undertook some Bible course and graduated as a pastor. He then took up a serving as a pastor in the same church as the white missionary. Pastor Ojo long association with the missionary and the Bible course he undertook had combined to shape his idea on morality, especially what he considered as the soul destroying sexual abuse of the youth. His sermons were never complete unless he touched on this social evil. No one knows about pastor Ojo inflexible belief about morality than his children. To protect his children from this evil, he routinely screened their friends away , asking them embarrassing question. If he was not satisfied with their answer he will ordered the suspected "devil " out of his house. He laid down strict rules regarding his children visiting and receiving of visitors. He ensured that his family observed morning and evening prayer, as well as regular Bible studies. pastor Ojo never missed an opportunity to lectures his children on the danger of moral laxity, emphasizing the need of keep their bodies undefined as one body is the temple of the holy spirit, To impress this on them, he strictly warned them that he was going to take a seriously any events of misconduct. He vowed to disown any one found abusing himself or herself sexually. When Ada yielded to the temptations of Alhaji Bako wealth, she could not claim to be ignorant of what consequences of her actions could be should it gets to her father knowledge. And what worsened the situation for her was the pregnancy that resulted from her relationship with Alhaji Bako. For about a month, Ada could not muster the courage to go and tell her parents her marital plans. She was deep in thought, trying to fashion out best to tell her parents and to get father to approval of her marriage with Alhaji Bako. Bako too was in his own fashion searching for a way to win over his who would be his father in law. One day, a possible solution struck Ada . " If Alhaji Bako and I should go to my parents," she thought, " and I introduce him Bako to him as my suitor (especially as he has not known that I am pregnant) and Bako, in his usual way, display his wealth to him by giving him a very big gift either in cash or any kind or both, perhaps he might approve the marriage." She thought over this again and again and concluded that, that was a permanent solution. But then another problem arose, "How do I explain Bako age and ugliness to my father? Surely, my father will reject him on these grounds," She thought again. Then she remembered a song in one of the prince Nico Mbarga album In which he told about a girl who was telling her parents to allowed her choose the kind man she will marry by self . The girl told them that forcing her to marry any man that is not her own choice might not augur well for the marriage. Ada was grad , She felt that if she should tell her parents the same thing, he might allow her to marry Alhaji Bako. Alhaji Bako and Musa had gone out to attend a meeting with the Honourable Minister for trade and industry. And as soon the meeting what over he did not wait for the lunch that followed. He immediately drove back home to see his Ada . When he arrived home, he walked straight to the sitting room were Ada usually stayed . He met Ada watching " Romero and Juliet" and relaxing with a bottle of wine called pink _ lady , after taking her lunch. " Hello, darling!" greeted Bako . "Hello, sweet heat!" answer Ada. Bako stretched his Two hand to Ada and gradually drew her up for an embrace. for long time, they held each other so tight, kissing and then sit down side by side. "Darling I think I have found a way out on how we could secure my approval of our marriage." " What is the idea?" asked Bako " I believe that we should go to my parents in one of the most flashy cars and I introduce you to him as my suitor as who to be my husband and you offer him a handsome present in cash or kind or both, he would endorse our plan." " That is true! said Alhaji Bako happily. " How clever of you! you know, I am sure that a carton of foreign wine plus a hundred thousand dollars for him and for your mother twenty thousand dollars and a dash of ten thousand dollars for each of your brother and sister will do the trick or what do you think?" " That is my man talking! exclaimed Ada in excitement. They then schedule the visit for the Saturday that week, which was only two days away. The following day, Alhaji Bako took Ada out for shopping. He bought beautiful dresses, shoes and ornamental article for her. He wanted her to appear beautiful and elegant before her parents that day, believing that, that could enhance their chance of getting his approval for their marriage. After all the shopping they have done getting home that Ada was so excited for the things Alhaji Bako have enquired for her, they both enjoy them self before going to bedroom, they both share the same room that night because of the excitement they both in At midnight Ada could not sleep she began to think how she will be able to face her father trying to tell him that she no longer in interested in school but instead marriage knowing what her father can do, she begins to lose the Hope. •• •• EARLY IN THE MORNING Alhaji Bako wake up to see Ada not sleeping but thinking, and ask her "Why are you not sleeping by now?" " To day is the day you and I will be meeting my father!" Ada replied.
