Chapter 3: Ifrit vs The Adeptus

Fraxinus:
Explosions, warning alarm roaring loudly, and colliding of steel to steel filled the inside of the commander's deck as the inside of the air ship turned into a war zone. The computers and other accessories bursted into flames. Cold nitrogen gas is spraying from the steel roof as the automatic fire extinguisher is trying really hard to put the fire out, but as long as Kotori remains a spirit, the flames will not extinguish itself without the command of its master. However, a wounded Kotori is barely holding her ground against DEM's top wizard. If she doesn't have a strong regenerative ability, she could end up dead in the spot and the portal machine will fall in Westcott's hand. She's also trying her best to hold back, because if she went on a full attack, she could succumb to her angel's possession.
"As an A rank spirit, you're really stubborn? I give you credits for surviving this long with an incomplete spirit armor." Artemisia impressed. "But it's too bad you're going to end up here just a lifeless corpse!"
She dashed towards the fiery spirit with her sword about to stab her, but Kotori blocked the attack by stabbing the head of her halberd on the edge of her opponent's sword.
Kotori gave the wizard a chilling smile, before saying. "Camael, Megiddo!"
Artemisia's eyes widened in shock when Kotori's weapon changed from a halberd into a giant cannon. All the flames in the ship got absorb by the cannon, and it started to charge up like a battery.
"Who said about me being a lifeless corpse?" Kotori said grimly.
"Shit!" Artemisia exclaimed.
Somewhere outside Tengu City, the grassy plains:
"My sister is still in there; I need to save her!" Shido cried out while getting held back by Tohka and the others.
The Sons of Sparda, meanwhile, are eyeing the once glorious ship of Ratatoskr. The ship is fuming dark smoke that's mixing with the clouds above.
Suddenly...
*BOOM!!! *
The desperate cries of Shido and the comfort of the spirits and the crew went deaf ear after a powerful explosion and a destructive fiery beam shoots out from the side part of Fraxinus. The force of the beam pushed the clouds away as it travels to one of the mountains away from the city, pulverizing the monstrous terrain into nothingness. Like a boat that's sinking in the ocean, the air ship slowly tilt its nose to the ground and began to fall.
Shido, the girls, and the crew couldn't help but stare at it in shock with Yoshino already trembling and tears began falling from her eyes like a waterfall.
Fraxinus:
Kotori fell on her knees, and she put one hand on her temple as the fire around her grew dim. The inside of the ship turned red and got filled with the sound of the alarm as MARIA trying her best to snap Kotori out of her trance. Her red pupils shrunk like a dot as it glowed like hellfire.
"D-Damn it! I-I am not your slave!" Kotori growled.
With one final attempt to call her name, MARIA cried out once more. "Captain, snap out of it! The ship is falling apart!"
The fiery spirit gasped after coming back to her senses. She looks in front of her and saw a burning corpse lying in the steel floor. She stood up, and glanced at the portal machine.
"Now that's over, I need to destroy this thi-" She was cut off when she felt an excruciating pain from her back to her abdomen.
She looks down at her mid-section and saw the edge of the sword piercing through her. After the unknown person pulled the sword out of her, her legs turned jelly and she fell face first on her own pool of blood. She shakingly glanced up and she trembled when she saw the sight of Artemisia looking down at her with her cold eyes.
"I-I thought I killed you?!" She stuttered, spewing blood from her mouth.
Then she looks at the burning corpse from earlier and it started to disappear in a puff of black smoke like the Nibelcoles.
"I-It's a fake?!" She grunted.
She gritted her teeth when she felt a burning sensation over her wounds. Purple flames suddenly cover it as it slowly starts healing her while she fights for dear life. But the healing process is so slow, it could take some time to finally be in full health again, but she knows she doesn't have any more time left as the ship is now free falling from the heaven.
"You fought well captain." Artemisia said. "But I'm afraid your efforts are not enough."
The adeptus wizard then walk close to the machine, and she placed her palm flat on it.
"So long Captain Itsuka." With that said, she disappeared in a bright yellow flash with the machine nowhere to be seen.
Kotori who was on the ground, roared out of pain, anger, and despair as she failed stopping the world from Armageddon. She knows to herself that she mustn't lose hope, if she does then all will be lost. If she's going to die today, how will she able to save the world? Not even her brother could do this alone.
Then her AI assistant voice came." Captain, you must get out of the ship quickky! You only have 10 minutes left before crashing!"
With Kotori struggles to get up, she tries to crawl all the way to the commander's sit, but it's taking too much time. To her shock, she heard a familiar female voice echoed in the room.
"Do you need some assistant, Kotori-san?" The voice giggled.
"D-Damn you, I don't have time dealing with you!" Kotori exclaimed.
"Well, I do." The voice replied.
Before she could react, dark hands suddenly grab her from beneath and restrict her movements before it descends her down to the shadow.
Grassy plains:
Shido collapsed on his knees as he and the others watched in horror as Fraxinus collided and destroyed the beautiful buildings of the city of Tengu. The spatial quake alarm rang out loudly, they are hoping the alarm isn't too late and all the people, especially the ones that are living and working in the danger zone had been evacuated. For Dante and Vergil, this isn't a surprise for them, for they have already encountered such destructive scene much worse than this one.
"Kotori?... W-Why?... M-my sister is... " Shido's voice quivered. His eyes widened and pupils shrunk while tears falls down his face. He punched the grassy soil with his hand repeatedly while holding back his scream of anger and pain.
Suddenly, a dark pool of shadow that appeared in front of him caught his attention. And to his surprise, the shadow spit out his sister stripped out of her spirit armor with a deep wound on her belly all the way to her back. The purple flames are still healing her, but it is turning dim. Her regenerative ability is barely working, however it is too slow to prevent her losing more blood.
"Kotori! Captain! " Shido, the spirits, and the crews all cried out.
"B-Big brother?" Kotori said so weakly. She's trying to move her body, but sge can only flinched from the sharp pain on her abdomen.
Shido immediately holds her on his arms and comforts her. "Don't worry, big brother is here. We'll get you patched up soon. Stay with me alright?"
The Sons of Sparda watched the bitter sweet moment that's happening in front of them. From the incident earlier, they now know that these teenagers are not your typical normal human beings, but why they didn't sense their powers after they've arrived in this world?
Dante finds it funny, but he just shrugged it off and he already knew that they will find out the answer soon enough.
"What a happy ending that adds up to the story." Dante stated.
"But not for long." Vergil spoke grimly and he took out Yamato from his sheath and pointed the edge of his sword at the view of the city.
He then continued. "We've got a new foe in our hands. I can sense someone; we need to exterminate this summoner soon. If we don't, then this place will turn into a demon's playground and it could spread to other dimensions too, including ours."
He then puts Yamato back in his sheath. Then Dante said confidently. "Well, what are we waiting for? We better act now than later."
"Hold up! First we owe them an explanation." Vergil replied and points at Shido and the others with his eyes, which his younger brother also looks at them.
"They can be a useful help locating the mastermind of the attack. We don't even know this world yet, so it's better to gain some information first." Vergil explained.
"You got a point, but if everything goes to hell, I like to go on my own gig. You do your own business and I'll do mine." Dante stated.
"Hmph, fine by me." Vergil replied.
DEM Laboratory:
Robotic sounds and beeping of computers are the only thing is being heard all around the lab. The lab is filled with capsules like containers with naked humans in their teen and young adult age containing it. They are wearing a metallic oxygen mask while being locked inside without any consciousness. There could be thousands of young wasted lives inside this sickening lab. Life wasted just to be a pawn for battle in Westcott's command.
The director of DEM glanced at his experiments with a satisfied grin on his face. Not scared of having tons of blood in his hands, nor any regrets at all.
"It's going all according to plan."
Then he heard the sliding door of the lab opened. He turn around to see four robots levitating a large machine towards him, then he saw his two powerful warriors, Ellen and Artemisia, following from behind. Out of nowhere, multiple giggles and laughter filled the air as papers flew inside the room towards Wescott before turning into girls.
"Father, we brought you a gift~!" One of the Nibelcoles said excitingly.
"We got it, without grandma here getting her hands dirty." Nibelcole teased, earning an aggressive glared from Ellen.
Westcott chuckled a little bit before raising one hand to silent them before saying. "You all done a very great job on your task. I'll reward you later, because I want you all to join me in the next step."
"That's where you will all get the taste of the sweet reward of power."
