Chapter 39 - End.

*Claire’s Point of View*
---
"Samantha, I'm so sorry for being so hard on you and with Claire. I know you can't forgive me easily, but I'm trying my best to be a good father to you, both, soon." Rick apologized to her daughter. Well, he really needs a lot of apologizing to do for being so mean to my ex-girlfriend. Yeah, ex.
Sammy is in her deep thoughts, and I can't help but look at her with adoration. She just looks so perfect. She's my everything, and I'm ready to do everything for her.
I still remember a day before Christmas when I barged into Richard Rivers' office and threatened him that I would bring him down with all I got.
During that time, I didn't think of anything else but to be with Sammy. He was taken aback and was shocked by my rage. And luckily, my supportive newfound father got my back, and they happened to be best friends, way back in their high school days. What a coincidence, right?
My father was there the moment I woke up in the hospital, and everybody's saying that he saved my life. And it took us a long talk and a long time before I finally forgave him.
He explained everything, and I'm still processing it. My health is not fully recovered, and I'm doing my best to look like I'm fine.
David Carlos West indeed got married when he left us. Arranged marriage, actually.
And fortunately, or unfortunately, he got married to a woman with cancer of the cervix, and they never had a child. The woman died two years ago. And that made my dad free at last.
Well, to make the long story short, he asked my mom to marry him during our Christmas dinner. I'm just so happy for them and our family. I have never really imagined us to be complete again. But here we are.
"It's okay, Dad. At least you finally accepted us. I guess that's enough to forgive you and thank you." Sammy replied, and her dad hugged her tightly, who had tears that were threatening to fall from his eyes.
It's a beautiful view to see everything around us so happy. And forgiveness is the only way to have it.
"Alright, Everyone! We only have a minute before the new year will come. Let us make the countdown. Fifty-six. Fifty-five…" My dad announced through the loud mic with Mom on his side. Well, I'm delighted to see my mother being so happy right now.
Everybody's counting down with him, and I gave my fiancé a back hug. I just feel so glad about all of these things that are happening to us. Sammy and I will get married as soon as we finish college. And I know it's still so far from now, and I know that it's worth it. We might still encounter lots of challenges and temptations, but I am sure that we can get through all of that. We will get through all of that.
"HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!" Everyone screamed as the fireworks started to light up the sky, and we could see them through the glass wall. It's truly beautiful.
"Happy New Year, Red," Sammy uttered as she kissed my left cheek.
I made her face me, and she gave me that warm smile.
"Happy New Year, too, Sammy," I told her and kissed her forehead.
She kinda looked disappointed, and I don't know what's the reason.
"Hmmn, just a kiss on the forehead? You're no fun, Red." She remarked and pouted her soft pink lips.
She looked so cute with those pouty lips that I really want to bite now.
"Don’t worry, Sammy, we'll get a room later," I teased and winked at her while biting my lower lip seductively.
And she seemed surprised, and her face turned so damn pink. I will really marry this girl.
"Well, well, well. Would you look at that? Damn, they're so sweet." Someone spoke behind us, and I just knew that it's them.
"Becca? Morgan? Oh, my! Everyone's here?" Sammy let out excitedly and hugged each of her best friends, including Shane. It's been a long time since she has seen them.
"Wow, that ring looked so good on you, Sam," Cass remarked, and she showed it to them with a big proud smile.
Then my cousin put her arm on my shoulder and said congratulations.
Well, who would have thought that I would fall in love with the person that I despised? Maybe it's true that the more you hate a person, the more you love them. Hmmm. Maybe to some people, and I guess I am one of them.
"By the way, how did you all get in here?" My fiancé asked the girls curiously. I just love to call her my fiancé, and soon, she'll be my wife. Damn, what a lovely future that could be.
Then all heads turned in my direction as they all pointed at me.
"Well, your betrothed here went to Miami just to pick Morgan and me up, and we went to Toronto and New York for a while just to get Charlie and Cassidy there. Could you think about that? We crossed the Atlantic without even buying a damn plane ticket!" Becca bragged, and I just chuckled at her statement.
And the other girls are agreeing with her. Yeah, we flew here with Dad's private jet.
---
The party ended up great, and we went our separate ways. Mom and Dad went home to Dad's mansion. Mara went to her condo with her boyfriend. Rick went somewhere else, but I know better, he will visit his ex-wife, who is my fiancé's mother.
Then the rest of us stayed at Dad's hotel, where we held the party.
The girls are in the other rooms, and of course, Sammy and I are finally alone together in one room. And you know what will happen next.
Of course, we will have a happy ending.
