*Pryce Winsley’s POV* --- “Oh, My Holy Sheemiyow! Who the---? Prycie? Is that you? Is that? Oh, gosh! Does this blood on the floor belong to you? What the bloody hell happened to you?” I heard my best friend’s panicking voice booming as she had just walked in the kitchen, and I turned my back from her, putting the frozen chunks of meat in my hold on the countertop. Then I shifted into my human-vampire form to talk to her properly. I winced in pain as I could still feel pang from my partly healed wound. “What in the world is happening? Why do you have all this blood on the floor? Are you okay? Are you hurt? What happened? Let me see it!” She asked again, her eyes wide in surprise while looking at my torn gold armor near my stomach, and I saw my blood kept oozing out and running down under the fridge before me. I pointed to the big chunks of frozen meat on the counter that I needed to eat and told her, “Unfreeze it. Please?” She obeyed, and I walked to the pantry where I could smell that there was lots of salt stored together with other condiments. And then I took out a small sack of salt that weighs about thirty pounds. “Do you even have a plan on answering my questions first, Pryce K. Winsley? What the f*ck happened? Where is my cousin? Did you go to The Hunt at your domain and earn that wound? That's crazy!” She asked me, yelling like a mad girl, and I turned to look at her and answered, “It’s a long story, and we don't have much time, Cassie. I need to go back to Blair quickly. And I need your help. Lots of it. But first of all, please put a damn distorting spell on this sack of salt. We are dealing with a powerful evil witch who wants to bring Damien back to life. It was one of his witch wife. And please, hurry up. It’s almost midnight, and I hope my mate did her best to keep herself away from harm. Could you give me that meat? I need to eat those all.” She just looked at me with her cluelessly confused blinking eyes, and I know that she was flabbergasted hearing the news I just told her. Like, who wouldn't be shocked? The last time we were all together was a few days ago here in this household, and we were watching a funny movie. And now, I don't even know how to process all these outrageous happenings lately. Also, I don't even know how our human friends are doing. And all I could do is hope they are all alright. I shifted back to my beast form to eat the meat so that I could gain energy and power as well as give back later the blood I sucked out from my mate. “Wow! That’s... that's even crazier, Prycie! But yeah, I can… I will put a spell on this salt. I don't fully understand what you told me, but I know what you want to do with this thing. I can do it. Wooh! I don't know if I was dreaming or not right now. No, it's a nightmare for sure.” She agreed and rambled, and she made gestures with her hands above the thing we needed to defeat a super bad witch. “I thought you both were in the main camp for the monthly hunt. My kids are there now to witness you on your first hunt by midnight. And I’m about to go there, too. This is indeed insanely crazy, Prycie. And I have so many questions for you, but I will just save them for later. This is quite exciting and mind-blowing.” She chatted, and I just shook and nodded my head in response as I devoured mouthfuls of raw meat. Then she proceeded to chant some Latin words I recognized from the books I read about witchcrafts, and I finally finished eating, and then I turned to my vampire form again to get ready to teleport back to where my mate was. I hope she’s doing fine. I know she does. --- After about a minute of incantation on the salt from my witch best friend, she told me that everything was ready. Then I let her read my mind to show her quick what I've been through, where was the place Blair and I were held captive, and what our plans against our enemies would be. This should work. I have faith in this. “Let’s go.” I said and held out a hand for her to hold so that we could teleport, but she shook her head, saying, “No! Thanks, but I have my Mirak’s Crystal, Prycie. I don't want to puke before getting into action. I know where we are heading anyway.” “Alright, be careful, Cassie. And thank you.” I told her, making her smile warmly while nodding her head, and she let out a deep breath. I closed my eyes and thought of where I would go, and I teleported with the thing I needed most. I opened my eyes, and I held on to the tree branch near my head, and I magnified my sight to see clearly the happenings on the platform where my mate was. Well, that’s a lot of werewolves who were trying to get through the wall of fire. Hmm. We can do something about them later, but first, we should defeat that evil witch. “Wai… hey, help! Sheez!” I heard Cassie called out behind me as her left foot slipped on the branch we stood on, and I luckily got a hold of the hem of her sweater and pulled her back in place. “Why do we have to be here on top of the tree?” She whined, and I shushed her. “Shh, werewolves might hear you. Make your force field now so that they can’t sense your presence.” “Okay. On it. Sometimes I really wonder if you are a witch, too, Prycie. I bet you would be great.” She remarked and began making her force field as her cover. I focused my gaze back on my mate, and my eyes widened in panic as I saw that the silver blade that Hera used to stab me earlier was going on the way to my mate while she got both her feet stuck on the concrete floor. And I could sense that Blair is powerless as heck again. Ugh, those runes! Damn it, she’s in serious trouble! “Cassie, do it now! I need to go.” I ordered my best friend to make a huge dark cloud to cover the moon’s light from hitting the unconscious body on the stone table and alter the spell that Hera was doing to bring life to Damien. I took a deep breath and held tight on the sack of salt. And I'm ready to do what we need. When I was about to teleport, I suddenly felt extreme pain on my left thigh, and I knew that Blair felt it as her flesh was cut by the blade. No, her blood shouldn’t be shed on the platform and be absorbed by Damien! “Good luck, Pryce!” Cassie told me, and I didn’t wait a millisecond to go to my suffering mate before I would be too late.
