Chapter 49 - All Against One

*Blair Claudette Cavanaugh’s POV*
---
“Did you kill them all that quick, Mom?” I asked my mother in shock as I saw that not a single creature around us was on their feet.
The Queen of the Northern Witches turned to me, making me flinch when I saw her eyes were black. And she seemed to be murmuring something.
Hold on… what in the heck happened to her? Is she okay? Or did she do some epic magic that caused the enemies to fall to the ground in an instant?
Her eyes slowly came back to their blue color, and I presume she’s in herself now.
“Claude, dear, are you okay? I saw what happened to you here from Pryce’s mind. She went to us just a while ago, and we were so worried. Are you alright? You both were hurt. Three of you. Your cousin, where is she?” She asked me, and worry was evident in her face and voice. She touched me from my head, shoulders, and then she checked my vitals.
“I’m okay, Mom. Thankfully, we are alright now. Thanks for coming. And… uh… Sander… I hope she’s okay. Pryce brought her somewhere far away. Somewhere safe.” I answered and looked around for any dangerous werewolf attacking us. Still, I couldn't find any awake auras of other creatures except their leaders, the crying Hera, and the desperate Damien fighting the Vampire King.
“That’s a relief. I’m so sorry if you have gone through this mess, my child. But we will make sure that this will end.” Mom said and gently held my left cheek, and I nodded my head in response.
“Alright. And… Uh… Mom, can I ask you something? Are… are all of them dead? There are like five hundred of them, the werewolf armies. What happens to them?” I curiously asked my mother, not that I am concerned about the lives of these rebels, but kind of, too. But mainly, I’m just making sure that none of them will sneakily attack us from behind.
“Oh! No, no, not really, Dear. They are under a sleeping spell. And if they wake up, they won’t remember a thing about why they are here and who were the evil people they serve. Everyone deserves a second chance to live a new life and change. And I’ll let Alison take care of them. She knows what to do.” She said, and I smiled, learning how great this queen is.
"Umm… mind control? Isn't it forbidden to use such a spell, Mom?" I asked her, curious about this witchy stuff, and she smiled at me and nodded her head.
She seemed to notice my puzzled face, and she explained it to me further. "Yes, it is forbidden. But… I am the queen. I make the rules. And it is necessary to use one right now, Claude. So, it's okay."
Oh, wow! Is that it? Awesome! I know I can never be as calm, powerful, and smart as my mother is, but I will sure make her less disappointed with what I have done with Hera. It’s definitely a good choice not to kill her. I am so done putting laws in my hand, and I have done enough killing my whole life.
I anxiously looked behind me when we heard an explosion. It was my father who dodged an energy ball attack from Damien, and it hit a tree trunk, making it fall near us.
“I guess Dad is enjoying his time with his old foe.” I remarked and heard my mother chuckling softly, and I looked at her when she said, “Yep. It’s been a long time since he got into a real fight. That was during the Great War, two hundred and sixty-nine years ago. And I remembered you were born that time, Claude. It made him angry that you were dead. This furiousness he has right now was almost the same as how it was during that tragic event. Yet he chose to be considerate and wise, and he requested a peace talk with the enemies’ leaders. And when we knew about what these entities had done to you and their plans in making our family and people suffer, we knew that the only way to attain peace is ending their madness. Kill lives if needed.”
I bit my lower lip and sighed, hearing my mother’s words, and I looked at my father fighting an old enemy for whom he feels no mercy.
When I saw how Damien had struck a spear made of ice at my dad’s stomach, I didn’t hesitate to interfere and help my old man. He might be needing some time to heal his wound, and I know Mom can help him.
“Claude, stay out of this! I’m fine!” He belted as I made us a force field to protect ourselves from Damien’s rain of ice blades.
“Oh, really, Dad? You do look fine with all the blood coming out of your wound and mouth.” I told him with a little hint of sarcasm, and he let out a laugh, making more blood come out of his mouth.
“I just need a few---” He began, but I didn’t let him finish. “Don’t argue. You could be so stubborn, but I am more than you are.”
I teleported us to where my mother was in a flash to ask help from her to heal my father’s wound quicker. And she was shocked, seeing her husband’s terrible condition. “Drake, are you alright? Come here, let me….”
I let my parents take the time they needed, and I went back to Damien and saw he was trying to heal his mate, Hera.
With the power I had left in me, I tried to create a fireball to throw at them but failed when the raindrops kept falling harder. I need more energy and focus on getting access to my firepower and for it to withstand the rain.
As I was about to close my eyes to concentrate, they widened in surprise when Damien suddenly was thrown out, and his back hit hard on a tree trunk near me. He quickly recovered and shifted into his beast form while looking so pissed off.
I looked at where he was looking, and I saw my glorious mate in her ultimate beast form, and she disappeared and attacked the enemy with her vampire super-speed while she was in wolf form.
What am I supposed to do now? Watch? Well, it’s indeed a thrilling view, witnessing the would-be leader and the wanna-be leader of the race of werewolves fight for the throne.
---
A few action-filled moments passed, I noticed the rain finally stopped, and it meant one thing… or two. It’s either Sander had arrived and deterred the upset weather, or Damien had channeled his power onto himself to become stronger and let the moon shine upon him. Then that would be a stupid move as it would make Pryce more powerful, too.
I turned my head in my parents’ direction and saw my father back on his feet and ready to engage in a fight again.
When I saw my mate defending herself against a boulder thrown by the enemy her way, I used telekinesis to stop it from crushing my girl, and I threw back the big rock to Damien. And I teleported to Pryce’s location to help her out with the injuries she got while my dad dealt with the monster.
“Hey, are you okay?” I asked her, and she shook her head in response. Then I noticed she slowly transformed into her human-vampire form, and I saw a deep wound at her left thigh.
“It was caused by silver.” She winced in pain, and I helped her heal it as I could feel she was getting weaker.
“What should we do about Damien? Do you think Dad can defeat him?” I asked my mate, and she lightly shook her head and said, “I don’t think so, Blair. He’s clever and stronger now that he could either be in any of the supernatural forms and use any abilities he acquired from me, and one being a warlock, too. His weakness is hard to determine. But… wait… I got an idea.”
She looked so thoughtful, and I saw a smile form on her face.
“What? Spill it, Babe.” I curiously asked her, and she stood up straight and held my right hand. I know she wouldn’t want Damien to hear whatever plan we can think of in defeating him. Hmm, telepathy is the key.
“Do you know how to make a spell that could make your fellow witch be in their human form using this?” She told me and took something from a pocket of her golden armor, and I got my mouth dropped in awe and asked her, “Where did you get an Octavia’s Crystal?”
“It was Donald's, and Magenta meant to put this in your body earlier. And I know it could belong to you once it had touches your skin. I guess it has the same charm as your necklace that made you totally powerless that I destroyed.” She explained, and I now remember. “Wait. Do you mean it still belongs to no one right now? We could give it to Damien with a spell I could hold to make him all powerless, and then we can finally defeat him. Oh, fudge, you are so brilliant, Sweetheart!”
I cheered as we had thought of a way to finally finish this mess, but I paused when I remembered that we had one tiny problem.
