Chapter 23 Love From the Next Door: Part 3
Totally absurd. That a traumatic event has stayed with me to this day, and as a result, I have no desire to ever interact with children again. Anyway, I came to the conclusion that this house is far finer than the one I attended previously. Is it due to the fact that the family got new furniture? I don't think that's the case at all.
"Don't you think that houses with children are usually chaotic?" My mouth just happened to form the question at that precise moment.
"Yeah, I know you're not going to believe that.” He exhaled deeply as he muttered, "When I came here this morning, the house looked like it had been through world war three. I cursed my brother for leaving me to take care of his kids and his messy house,"
"Are you the only one who cleaned the house?" I questioned out of sheer interest.
"If not me, then who will do it?" His response has caught me off guard. I can't even clean up my own bedroom, yet this guy can clean the entire house in a single day. How is that even possible? That's quite amazing!
When I stepped into the living room, a young girl around 12 years old who was sitting on the couch and holding a phone in her hand was taken aback by my appearance.
"Aah!" Before getting up from her seat, she let out a half-scream. "It's you, Cloe! The talented bakers on Youtube! “
"Ouh?" He shifted his posture before looking at me. I tried to hide the awkward smile on my face as he grinned at me and gazed directly into my eyes. The little girl was jumping for joy as she made her way over to where I was standing.
"I went through every single one of your videos! Every single one!" She glowed from the inside out and had a twinkle in her eyes. It then turned out that the young girl is one of my many fans.
My response was a bit awkward: "Ouh... t-thank you."
"You're making her uncomfortable, Julia," a kid muttered as he suddenly came into the living room from the kitchen carrying a bottle of milk and a jar of cookies in his arm.
"Oh, that's nice! Thank you so much for bringing the food, Jacob," he said with a warm smile as he affectionately stroked the youngster on the head. After having his head rubbed, the young kid exhibited some signs of blushing. After listening to her younger brother, the girl, whose name might have been Julia, pursed her lips. "I just wanted to let her know.."
The gentleman spoke to her in a soothing tone while gently touching her on the shoulder. "It's okay Julia, I think Chloe is happy to meet her little fan in face today," he remarked. A smile had reappeared on her face just prior to her returning her attention to mine.
"Y-yeah, of course I'm happy to meet you, Julia! Thank you for supporting my channel," I'm doing my best to make it not sound weird. Is this the same group of kids I met with five years ago? The eldest daughter, Julia, still has the courage to approach people, although she is not quite as aggressive as she once was. Jacob, the second child, is the more reserved of the two although he no longer sobs and has snot on his nose.
"Where exactly is the third one?" I asked this while looking around the room.
"Oh, right, where is Jamie?" The individual nervously makes his way towards the stairs. "James, where have you been hiding, you little guy?"
"I'm here," uttered a tiny figure that had suddenly showed up from behind him. “I used the toilet earlier,"
“You didn't go with him to the toilet, did you?“ Julia let out a scream.
"I don't know if he wants to go there! He never did tell me!" Jacob yelled out at her in response.
"Calm down, kids," the man replied in a collected tone before squatting down in front of Jamie and asking, "Are you okay going to the loo by yourself?"
He responded, "Yes, I'm fine," "It was scare at first but I believe I can do it,"
"At long last, our Jamie may officially be considered an adult! Hooray!" Julia shrieked with delight.
Laughing, the guy responded to Julia's request to calm down by saying that both of them still had a long way to go before reaching the level of maturity of a genuine adult. After hearing that response, each and every one of them laughed heartily.
What kind of vibe is this? Their giggling spreads joy throughout the environment like a waterfall of glittering notes, transforming everything into a vividly colourful canvas. Each guffaw is like a stroke of the paintbrush that adds a new layer of cosiness and brightness to the environment, thereby transforming it into a symphony of unadulterated joy. My lips, without my conscious awareness, are likewise making laughs that are identical to theirs
"So, do you like kids now?" The guy question me while wearing a smug expression on his face. I was forced to face the truth once again. I look at him with my eyes before responding, "No, still no,"
I am not going to let the current scene trick me in any way. He heaved a sigh while maintaining the grin that was on his lips. "Alright, kids, now that we have enough people, let's play together!"Download Novelah App
