Chapter 3 The Blank Canvas: Part 3

"So this is where she lives?" he checking back the location on his phone. Yeah, here is the place. He staring at the luxury condominium in front of him. It was so high with clear glasses covered the whole building.
"Now... How I'm going to pass this stuff to her?" He glanced at the white canvas on his right.
He took out his phone. Checking for her house number. He looks to the number on the wooden door. They're the same. He dialed her number.
"Hey, I'm here. Open your door already.."
"Wait I'm on my way..." The door opened from inside. She appears behind the door with a phone in her right hand.
"I'm sorry, please come in..." She allows me to get into her house. There is nothing much furniture in the living room. Just an L-shaped red couch, a coffee table, a television, and also a desk with a whiteboard in front of it at the corner of the room. Maybe she used it when she on studies as there were some books and stationery on the desk. There also some notes on the whiteboard.
"Are you still in a study?" He put down the paint stuff on the desk while the canvas leaning to the wall next to it. He looking around the living room. She wasn't there.
"Edora?"
"I'm here," she appears from the kitchen with a tray in her hand. She put the tray on the coffee table. There were two cups of tea and some slices of sandwiches.
"Hope you don't mind with tea," She takes her seat on the red couch while offering him a cup.
"I'm fine with anything. Thank you." He takes the cup from her hand before taking his seat next to her.
"Why did you called me?" She asking.
"Nothing, I just saw some books and stationery on that desk... So I was a wonder, are you still in studies?" He blows slightly the tea to cool it down.
"Oh, those things? I'm actually will be having a test next week. Later I'm gonna tidy those up." She gets her butt off from the couch and walking to the canvas.
" Excuse me for a while, I want to keep this canvas in my room." He nodded. She takes the canvas with her. She then walks towards a room located before the kitchen.
"Ah!" A shrilly voice heard from the room. He gets up instantly from his seat.
"What's the wrong Edora?!" He rushingly moves towards the room. He holds the knob to open the door.
"No! Don't get inside this room!" But it was too late. He stood stiffly in front of the room. His eyes wandering around the room staring at those messy. Used paper shattered on the floor. Paint spilled the wall. A few canvases hanging perfectly on the wall but they were empty. Just a white clean canvas. The used canvas at the corner of the room, left aside with uncompleted painting while some of them were torn on purpose.
This room was in a house for an artist right?
Then why it so gloomy?
"You saw everything right?" She gets up from the floor while holding a cup of a paintbrush in her right hand. Perhaps that was falling on the floor a while ago. She put them gently on the table next to the canvas she always with her before. He knew it because there's some red spot on the left bottom corner of the canvas.
He shut his mouth from let out any words. He doesn't want to become a busy body as they just meet a few weeks ago and don't become a friend yet.
But...
He wants to know it...
He needs to know it...
A calm smile suddenly appears on her face.
______
"Yeah, Edora! Finally, my girlfriend wants to get back to me!" He jumps in joyed. She stops from her sketching and looks at him with a glad smile.
"That was glad to hear. When she told you this?"
" Yesterday, she had forgiven my mistake and she asked for another date with me."
"Good luck on your date." She continues moving her pencil lead on the sketchbook.
"Thanks. How about you? Do you get any ideas yet?"
He takes his seat on the same bench with her while trying to peep on her drawing.
"Gladly I'd got an idea last night." She replied to his question without looking at him, concentrate on her sketching.
"Well... Good luck with you too. I hope you could make it before the competition."
"Thank you'

"Chase?" A sweet voice passed through his eardrum. A girl with a white mini dress waving her palm to his face, awake him from his dreaming.
"I'm sorry for letting you wait for me," She asked. He shook his head saying it was nothing. He offers his arm, "Let's go,"
She smiled. She hugged him tightly as her arm wrangle around his neck. He stared at her hesitantly before his arm moving to her waist. Closer her body towards his chest.
But he doesn't know why...
He doesn't feel anything ...
"So, where we should we go first?" He asked as he released the hug. She let out the 'hmmm....' for a while before snapping her finger.
"Let's have shopping together! It's been a long time since we're don't, right?" She grabbed his arm and forced him to follow her on purpose. His legs were moving followed her step as she having his arm in her grasp.
He released a heavy breathe without she realized it.
"But... We just went there on our last date though..."
_____________
"I'm sorry if this question disturbing you.." said him while leaning his left to the wall. " But what is so special with that canvas?"
"This one?" She pointed her finger to the canvas in front of her. He nodded. His arm was crossed on his body. He noticed the red spot on the corner of it as it was the canvas that she always brings along every time she went to the park. She was searching for the ideas all this time but didn't even try it on that canvas. Does the canvas was that mean for her?
"Nothing, it just from my ex." She staring at the white blank canvas.
"Was you broke up with him?"
"No," she shook her head slowly. She still staring at the square canvas. Silent. Nothing coming out from her mouth then.
