The cold breeze brushed against my skin. I shivered a little as I had no jacket on, but I didn’t mind. I took a deep breath before gently tracing Mom’s engraved name on the tombstone and then Dad’s. I shifted my gaze to both of their graves. “Mom, Dad. I’m really confused. I don’t know why, but I feel like Stephen is connected to my past. If by any chance he was part of the group that attacked us before, I hope he wasn’t. Because if that were the case, I don’t know what I would do.” It was Saturday, and I decided to visit my late parents. I had a lot of questions for them, too. They knew about my past, which I still couldn’t remember. But no matter how many times I asked them, I knew I wouldn’t get any answers. So, I secretly prayed that maybe I would meet someone—just one person who was part of that past—to tell me more about what happened back then. Someone who could shed light on the events. I forced a smile. “But don’t worry about me. I’m in good hands. I have kind people taking care of me, and I have friends who won’t leave me and want to protect me. Plus, I have a mafia boss for a husband. It’s better than if I had married Aries as originally planned.” I clenched my fist. “Maybe the reason I haven’t forgotten Aries is so that I can seek revenge for what happened to you. But no matter how much I want to take matters into my own hands, I won’t do it. I’ll let him suffer in prison for the rest of his life. I’ll just be an instrument to bring him to justice. I assure you of that.” I blinked my eyes rapidly to stop the tears from falling as my vision suddenly blurred. I stayed there for a few more minutes before praying earnestly. Once I finished, I stood up, dusted off my pants, and bid my parents farewell. I nodded to Cole, who was waiting outside the car. “Don’t you have anywhere else to go?” Mads asked. Their motorcycles were parked behind the car. There was no use following me from a distance now that I knew about them. “No. I’d rather stay at the mansion today. I don’t feel like going around. Will you guys be hanging out there too?” She nodded. “Yeah. We’ll keep you company. We don’t have any important missions today.” That brought a smile to my face. At least the loneliness I felt was slightly lifted as I would be with my friends today. “That’s good to hear, Silver.” I chuckled. Mads rolled her eyes. “You seem really delighted with our codenames, huh?” I just laughed. I only found out about their codenames recently. Mads as silver, Damon as light, Albert as red, and Harold as blue. Mads and Damon used guns in battle, while Albert wielded a katana and Harold a dagger. They might seem intimidating to others. But to me, my friends are cool. We didn’t take long to return to the mansion. We agreed to have a picnic in the garden area at the back, where the swimming pool was located. As soon as I mentioned the plan to Belen, she quickly got things ready in the kitchen. I let Cole and my friends go ahead while I decided to change my clothes. After I was done, I was about to leave the room when my phone suddenly rang. I quickly took it out of my pocket, and my face lit up with a smile when I saw that it was Liam calling. “Hey!” I greeted him. “Hey. Are you at the mansion right now?” My brow furrowed as I heard the car door being slammed shut on his end. “Yeah. The gang is here as well.” I descended the stairs slowly. “Oh, great! I called to let you know that Aunt Marcel and Uncle Edwin are on their way there too.” I paused mid-step, my smile growing wider. “Really? Alright. I’ll tell Belen to prepare more food.” “Okay. See you later, princess!” “See you. Take care!” I hung up. I nearly skipped the stairs due to the excitement I was feeling. I immediately went to the kitchen to tell Belen that my family would be coming as well. For the very first time, they would also be able to visit me at the mansion. Even though Stephen wasn’t around, I could still feel that my friends and parents were doing everything they could to make sure I didn’t feel alone. I let out a sigh as I walked down the hallway toward the back of the mansion. However, I paused once again as I passed by the mysterious room that was here. I swallowed before scanning my surroundings. When I noticed that there were no guards patrolling around, I quickly descended the stairs. I took a few deep breaths before aligning my right eye with the eye sensor security system here. Before long, the words “Access Granted” appeared on its screen. I slowly turned the doorknob to open the door. My heart started beating faster as I gradually pushed it open. I glanced back once again before finally stepping inside. I was taken aback as an array of paintings greeted me, some hanging on the wall and some even resting on the floor. There was also a long table in the middle with neatly arranged photo albums, books, and various other items. I furrowed my brow when I noticed the children’s toys placed to one side. Could these be Stephen’s toys from when he was a child? In fairness to him, it seems that he cherished his childhood memories that much. But what piqued my curiosity even more were the photo albums. Maybe I hadn’t seen any photo albums in his room because they were all stored here. I slowly approached the table, placing a hand over my left chest. I couldn’t explain why my heart was beating faster. Taking a deep breath, I reached for the topmost photo album and opened it. However, I gasped at what I saw, my heart pounding even harder. The album slipped from my hands, falling to the ground with a loud thud. It couldn’t be. Why was there a picture of me in here, along with a few other children?
