We leave Spain without his mother. At the very least, we have some information that may lead us to her. But it appears that there is none for him. Through Emmet's brother, we will be able to fly back to Manila by lending his private jet. I was holding his cold hand, which I had never let go of. He never even looks at me ever since we leave Cynthia's house, like he's back to being the gloomy, cold prince. I thought I was the most hapless, miserable person until I met him and found out what he had been through in his life. The lies that he believes. Prince Augustus was only 17 forces to be the next on the throne. Instead of doing what a teenager normally does, he is responsible for ruling the country. He was deprived of his freedom and even the opportunity to meet his mother. —————————— "Princess Damiera, the first daughter and eldest of King Basilius, is your mother." “Princess Damiera?” I repeated. The whole situation makes me confused, especially the prince. “H- how can they lie about this?” "Princess Damiera was supposed to be the next in line, not King Lucien," Cynthia put her hand on the prince’s arm. "Despite being a girl, the late King Basilius still chose her as the next ruler. She is smart. He sees himself in Princess Damiera. King Basilius believes she has a unique ability to lead the country well, an ability that King Lucien does not have. But she was against it. Princess Damiera didn’t want to be the next ruler. All she wants is peace, a life without crowns, without thinking about being responsible for the lives of the people. Life, that normal people have.” I gave the prince a sidelong glance. life, which Prince Augustus also wants. She is, in fact, Prince Augustus' mother. "No one is allowed to choose what they want or like as a member of the royal family," she glared at the prince."Their lives were planned even when they were still in the womb... Princess Damiera, on the other hand, was unique. She is the second version of Prince George. Yearning to have a normal life, she starts seeing a rich man named Augustine, ready to leave everything just to be with him. I was with that plan, but it didn't go well." The prince is starting to clench his fist, which makes me worried. By putting his hand on mine, I could calm him a little. “Before finding out what Augustine's world was, the family was ready to accept him. Augustine, your father was part of the underworld—not just a member, but the underworld's ruler. Running all gambling, all human trafficking, and being the biggest supplier of drugs, Princess Damiera, despite knowing all the truth, still wants to go with Augustine. I don't want to ruin the princess's life, so I stopped her plan.” She paused; there were tears on her face. “I told them what she’s planning...” “How could you?" I had to stand between them to halt him. “Princess Damiera—no, my mother. You’re the only one she could trust, yet you betrayed her! You deserve to be punished!" "I know I made the biggest mistake... I tried to correct what I did." “By taking care of me because you thought the guilt would disappear inside you if you took care of me!” “No. Don’t think that I took care of you out of guilt." “Taking care of me doesn’t change the fact that you betrayed her." “I know. And I really tried, but it was too late. I did not know that the king would be able to blow up the place where Augustine was. It was too late for me to escape Princess Damiera. The loss of Augustine is the reason why the princess gradually lost herself. Then we found out there's a baby in her womb, which is, you. The princess has new hope; she's back to her old self. You are the only thing that matters to her.” Her breathing was shallow and ragged because of her nonstop crying. “What they did to her after she gave birth to you was horrible. She only touched you once, then they took you away from the princess. They know what will happen when they take you away from her. They are deaf, not hearing her pleas; blind, not seeing her suffering.” “You are there, but you didn’t do anything. You're nothing, but like those horrible people who watched my mother suffer. Deaf and blind,” “How can I possibly help Princess Damiera, when she wasn’t even in the palace.” “So, tell me where she is." That's when the prince burst into anger. He was trying to get Cynthia “Tell me WHERE IS MY MOTHER?” he starting to lose himself. "I'm not sure; I'm sorry. There's no trace of where the princess is. All I know is that someone took her out of the palace.” Prince Augustus scoffed. “Now that I remember, you never even look after me; you just go around the palace fantasizing about being a queen." He snatched my hand that was holding him back and got out of the store after that. “Prince...” Cynthia was shocked by what the prince said. “I'm—sorry, he didn’t mean to say those words. He was just angry.” Cynthia nodded to indicate that she understood. “I already expected him to say those words," She entered a room and came out with something in her hand. "Can you do me a favor? Give it to him. I know Princess Damiera wants the prince to see it." “Of course,” She touched my face before I followed the prince out. “You take care of him.” —————————— The prince directly entered the palace without even the slightest care if he passed through the palace entrance and was seen by the guards. The guards approached him one by one. They hadn't even gotten close when Mr. Osiris signaled them to stop. Prince Augustus locked himself in his room. None of them, not even me, can enter his room. But that's not what can get me away from him. I stayed, just sitting outside and listening to his cries. Waiting until his tears run out until he's ready to speak. I took the thing that Cynthia gave me from my pocket, and while I was looking at it, I noticed that the photo was torn as if a part of it were missing. That's when it entered my brain that what Prince George gave me had a resemblance to the photo I was holding. I immediately stood up to look for it in the room. I'm hoping my thoughts are correct and that those two pictures are part of each other. I rummaged through all my things in the dressing room, but no picture was there. I walked back and forth, trying to remember where it was hidden. Then there was this notebook on the table that reminded me where the photo was. I opened the drawer box of the side table. As soon as I opened it, I attached the two photos. And I was right—this torn-apart photo was part of what Prince George gave me. Photo of Princess Damiera and assume this guy was the prince's father. The horn sounded, signaling the arrival of the king. In shock at the loud honking, two photos were dropped. I picked it up, and suddenly I thought of the prince. I left the room to go to his room, but there was no prince in the room. I went down to chase him. I have a hunch that he will wait for the king and will not stop until he knows where his mother is. There was nothing else in my mind but to stop him from doing what he was going to do. But it was too late to stop him; Prince Augustus had already made a scene, shouting and nagging the king in front of the servant and the queen. Broken pieces of the vase were everywhere. “What is this all about, Augustus? You're making a scene," Queen Elbereth said, calm but clearly irritated. “I will only ask once. Where is she? Where did you hide her?” He clenched his fist. “I assume you already knew where she is. Didn't you run away to see her in Spain? Yet you still don't know the answer to that question.” “And you know she is not the one I was looking for,” Prince Augustus replied. “Don't you want them all to know the lie you spread? Spreading those lies that I am the result of your affair, that I was a mistake, that I am a bastard. Because none of it was true.” Queen Elbereth's expression changed; she was shocked. Like, she never expects Prince Augustus to know those secrets. "Stop, this isn't the place to talk," the queen says, fearful for herself. “We're not doing this, Augustus. Not here, not right now. Go back to your room,” King Lucien trying to control the situation. “Stop ordering me around 'cause you’re not my father!” Prince Augustus yelled out. That yell made me run closer to the prince. All their eyes were on me when I held the prince's hand. I shook my head, signaling for him to stop. “How can you say that to your King?" Queen Elbereth didn’t stop herself from slapping Prince Augustus. “You have the audacity to tell him that when he's the one who makes your life easy. He gave the crown to you even though you’re not deserving.” Then Prince Augustus releases his grip on my hand. “That I didn’t ask him to do!” He was ready to throw another vase that was right beside him. Everyone stepped aside to avoid being hit by the vase. The prince could no longer be controlled. No guards can stop him from destroying things around the palace. I moved my feet closer to him, reaching for his hand with the photo in my hand. “I don't care about the bad things you did. I just...” I was about to hand him the photo when the prince kneeled all of a sudden, despite the broken vase on the floor. “Can you please at least tell me where she is? Where is my mother, uncle?”
