Chapter 68

"Innovvvv! No! My son doesn't deserve this! He's not dead! No!"
I was just staring blankly at the coffin in front of us. Only Aunt Sharon's voice full of misery keeps on echoing in the whole corner of the funeral room. She's been crying since yesterday, Dad remained quiet while comforting him but his eyes says it all. I'm beside Yukenzo, behind us are Lia and Vencie, Yukenzo's mother and grandma. She never stopped asking me how am I feeling and I keep saying I'm okay, my body is but not my heart. It's as if it is being clenched in a tightest way.
Everyone's quiet. No one intended to talk. The pain keeps on lingering inside me and my tears seems too shallow to fall in just a matter of seconds. I wiped it eventually but another batch replaced it. I sighed heavily. Goddamn it.
"You can cry..." Yukenzo said and wiped it for me.
I nodded and those tears seemed to hear it because right fucking then, they fell continuously.
My heart ached more the moment I remembered those moments with Innov. Those days he always greet me... always acknowledge me... and always treating me special like his own sister. He's always been patient with me. He's always been kind and understanding. Even I kept ignoring his presence and threw harsh words on him, he remained genuine to me. He didn't change. He stayed with me, still.
Fuck! I regret not appreciating his efforts that early. I regret being distant to him. I regret it all...
I sobbed hard on my palm.
Why?! Why did you leave so easily?! Why, Innov?!
I have changed now! We can be a family now! I promised myself that I'll make it up to you! I promised not to hurt anyone else's feelings again! I promised to be a better person! But why... why you gave up on me?
Of all people, why you?! Why it is needed to be you?! You're always been patient with me. You have all the way to leave and give up but why this way?! You deserved to leave and give up on me but not this way! No, this is unacceptable... so unacceptable.
"I can't treat him... ice cream anymore... l-like what he wanted ever since..." I bit my lip and cried on Yukenzo's shoulder. He let me until I get tired.
We're all in that situation when the wide door opens and a violent and wild Akira appeared. She's struggling form the holds of the police and nurses.
"No! Mommy! It's not my intention to hurt Innov! He's my brother, right? You know I can't do it! Please! I don't wanna go with them! Mom!" Her eyes were pleading but the madness in it remained visible.
She looks miserable, her hair is unruly and there's black bags under her eyes. I tightened my fist and controlled myself from attacking her. I know it won't do good. She's crazy. She's hopeless. She lost her mind.
I watched how her mother looked at her like she doesn't know her anymore.
"Y-you're not my Akira... I don't have a daughter who's a monster..." she provoked.
Akira's shoulder fell. Tears fell from her eyes.
"Mommy! I'm Akira! I'm your daughter! Please, help me! Mommy, please! I don't wanna go there, mommy! Mommy!" She started crying loudly and acted violently.
"She needs to go with them..." Dad whispered to Aunt Sharon who nodded weakly.
She turned her back at her own daughter. Akira never expected it. The police and nurses grabbed her out of here, her cries and shouts keeps on echoing until it slowly faded. Aunt Sharon cries occured. She clung into my father's arm.
This is the consequences of the crime her daughter did. Akira will send to mental institution and spent her years there, pay for what she'd become.
Just a matter of minutes when the door opened again. One of the police entered, it looks like he has some news for us. We made ourselves ready. He stopped in front of us.
"What is it, general?" Father asked.
General sighed."One of the primary suspect found dead in the middle of the grass field after we chased her. She committed suicide." He spilled.
An eerily silence embraced us. I saw Lia covered her mouth and hugged Vencie. Yukenzo moved closer to me and held my head onto his shoulder. I rested my hand on his chest.
I feel sorry for him. He did nothing but to be a good friend to her and yet, she didn't appreciate it. She aimed for more that led her to nothingness.
The both of them, Akira and Azelyn, were just a victim of jealousy and high ambitions, blinded by their own illusions that caused them to a never-ending pain and misery.

believe that love has no boundaries. To support my claim, I will base my argument on Coraghessan's article "The Love of My Life." True love is based on teamwork and that's exactly what the two partners practiced. China and Jeremy did everything together by incorporating both cooperation and coordination in all kinds of activities that linked them together. The intensity of love seemed so high that the two shared or partnered in different activities that benefited both sides of the relationship.
