Chapter 70.
Sky heard the two lovers chatting because, at first, she just wanted to wake up Casya. Even though there was Tirta in the room, Sky didn't care because she just wanted to wake him up. His intentions were good, but apparently, he found a pair of human children joking while discussing their future. Sky, who initially wanted to interrupt, instead listened until the last time he couldn't take it anymore and left in front of Casya's room. Sky finally made his own food this morning. The telephone ringing in this apartment interrupted all the conversations stored in his head. He sighed and picked up the call.
"Hello," said Sky.
Hello, do you know Sky? It was grandma's voice, he thought.
Yes, Grandma, it's Sky." Sky grimaced.
"Where's Cassie?"
"There's Grandma; she's with Tirta again. Sky said anyway
"You guys sleep at Casya's place? Grandma's voice sounded in disbelief; maybe Grandma thought that the two men were having problems with their grandchildren, or maybe...
"Grandma, don't think about it; last night Sky was a little drunk, Grandma. Well, she drank a little, but her condition isn't good anymore. And even when I went to Casya's apartment, the only one Sky had as a friend was Casya, but... Tirta and Casya also went to Casya's apartment overnight. I didn't know that Sky was drunk and fell asleep—maybe Grandma passed out; Sky doesn't really remember either. Casya and Tirta finally brought Sky in and slept here. He explained. He heard the grandmother's voice on the other end sigh. Maybe he was grateful but still worried.
"Then Tirtha?"
"Tirta is the same as Grandma; he—
"How about it? You two were both drunk.
"No, Grandma, that's not it. What Sky meant was that she allowed her to stay because she was also staying the night. If not, she would have brought Sky home, but Casya forbade him because it was late and Sky was also unconscious. Well, Tirta is a lover of Casya and Grandma. It's natural that she doesn't want a man to live with Casya, even if he's her best friend. So, he asked to stay to make it safer as well, he said." Chuckled Sky, who found it funny because he wasn't the one who ended up sleeping with Casya, Funny, no. It was only natural for Sky Casya to keep her distance, but hearing Casya and Tirta's conversation made her realise that she was indeed selfish. He just didn't want to lose Casya because of everything that woman had done and everything he had done to maintain the friendship that he had always cherished. It turned out that Casya had hurt so deeply.
"Sky, are you still there? Oh, yes, Grandma just wants to tell Casya that she shouldn't forget to have dinner at Grandma's house on Saturday, just like she promised. You just come; tell Casya to take Tirta, okay? the grandmother said from across there.
"That's it, Grandma; Sky will tell Casya later, he said.
"Okay, just wake him up. You know, that kid likes to sleep with buffalo."
Yes, Grandma, don't worry." Sky seemed to grimace, because now was not the time for him to come and wake Casya. He couldn't be like before, he promised himself, and remembering Reyhan's words yesterday, which made him drunk enough to be stranded here, also explained everything.
"Grandma's closed, okay?"
"Yes Grandma"
Grandma hung up their call, and that ended the conversation. Sky finally breathed a sigh of relief. He just shook his head slowly, put the phone back in its place, and continued making breakfast. He was still hungover and groggy. Did he drink too much last night, he wondered?
Not long after, footsteps were heard coming down the stairs. Sky knew who it was—between the two human children, or even one of them. Sky didn't mind, and she just continued to make breakfast for herself. Don't look away; don't worry.
"Sky?" Call Casya
"Eh, Sya? Are you awake? Sky actually didn't want to be sarcastic, but to be honest... Deep down in her heart, she missed things like this—the jokes that made her always fight with Casya, and Maudy came to help one of them. Casya seemed to narrow her eyes, then Casya reflexively put her hand on Sky's forehead and said, "It's not hot. Are you still dizzy? Hangover?" he asked, making Sky quite nervous; he just swallowed hard. Tirta saw everything; the scene couldn't escape Tirta's intense gaze until he walked down the stairs.
Hmm. Tirta cleared his throat deliberately and pretended to get cold water from the refrigerator. Casya reflexively removed her hand from Sky's forehead, and Sky didn't know how. He just smiled stiffly and nodded slowly.
"Sorry, I'm hungry. Sky said she was showing the milk and bread taken from Casya's kitchen to Tirta.
"Sky, just wait there! Let me cook. Casya said in the end.
Tirta, who saw that, raised his eyebrows. Casya, who knew Tirta's thoughts, immediately stroked the man's hand and said, "You just wait there too. Let me cook for the three of us," Casya coaxed. Because he knew that Tirta would definitely not agree, or he didn't want it, just because of Sky, that Casya would get into trouble and turn into a hero. He even wanted Sky to leave quickly, but Tirta tried to restrain himself.
"Sit over there," Casya said with a wink.
"What do you mean? I'm sitting with Sky over there, on the chair.
"Yes, in that chair, dear," Casya said again, winking one eye and calling him softly. Whoever doesn't fall asleep inevitably ends up sitting in the living room, along with Sky. Actually, Tirta himself didn't care if he had to sit with Sky or not. However, he was a little disturbed that Casya still cared about Sky. Ah, he forgot that he himself told Casya not to forget Sky as her best friend.
Casya found it funny when the two men didn't even greet each other, even though last night she could see that Tirta was really annoyed with Sky's presence. Even though, in the end, it was the man who brought Sky into his apartment, Casya still didn't have the heart to make Sky sleep outside. Likewise with Sky, who had been looking fiery with Tirta but was silent, holding her glass of milk and nervously eating her bread. Casya felt funny but didn't want to do anything. He enjoyed whatever he saw this morning. Casya made sure to make soup, coincidentally because it was quick to eat, and those were the only remaining ingredients. Casya felt sorry for Tirta, and finally she called the man.
"Ta," she said.
"yes?"
"Help, will you? Casya asked, making herself as cute as possible.
Tirta immediately got up and helped Casya. Likewise with Sky, he asked Sky to help him, either by watering his plants on the balcony or some on the rooftop of his apartment. He makes the two men work together in different ways. And suddenly Casya chuckled, and Tirta, who was watching, narrowed his eyes as if he knew what the woman was thinking.
"You did that on purpose, didn't you? Tirta guessed
"What?" Casya pretended not to know. Though he was holding back laughter.
"On purpose, for me and Sky to do this and that?" he said, narrowing his eyes again.
"I don't have any intentions; I just want to get to know you guys better. So I won't be like Tom and Jerry. Casya was honest, raised her hands, and made a peace sign on her right and left.
"Yes, I believe it," Tirta finally said, because he already knew that women were never wrong. Casya, who saw how Tirta gave in, just poked the man, making Tirta squint at him.
"Why?" Tirta asked
"You are angry, are not you? Casya hugged Tirta's arm. And the man shook his head.
"No, it's just that it's just not comfortable to be close to Sky. He said it honestly. One thing that Casya likes about Tirta is that she is always honest about her feelings.
"You have to get used to it because he's my best friend, and you will get used to everything around me. So will I. I have to get used to being around you. Casya said, "Uh, it's cooked. Let's eat; you call Sky."
"I'm here… You don't need to be called." Sky immediately came and sat down, not caring about the stares the two of them had on her.Download Novelah App
