GOLDEN LINE: Trigger

“Jane Draco was found dead when we arrived at the secluded suspected hide-out,” Harvey reported. “The people that were abducted by your grandmother for her project, Clientes Esclavos, were not found. There's also no sign of a forced invasion of the hideout. Moreover, there were no signs of bullets from the body and there were no ruins in the whole area that may lead us to her cause of death,” he added.
Kierson kept the file of paperwork on his desk. “Did you really investigate the crime scene? Is there no factor that may point out the suspect?”
Harvey shook his head. “Before Leon could even get there, the police authority had already cleaned the crime scene and kept all the possible leads in their custody.”
Kierson massaged his temple. “Who was in charge of the crime?”
“Vishnu de Oliveira,” Harvey answered.
Kierson groaned. He just told Vishnu not long ago to never cross his path and this happened. He sighed and said, “If there's no sign of forced invasion and no bullets, the killer must be an insider. It's either the killer were the slaves or her comrade,” he concluded. “Steal the coroner's post-mortem of the body. Make sure it is credible.”
Kierson leaned his back onto the backrest.
Another problem had occurred.
Now that Jane Draco was dead, he didn’t know who was in charge of keeping the slaves.
Wayne Emerson wouldn’t let his hand get all dirty because of peasants. He wouldn’t do this kind of dirty work.
That left Kierson with a conclusion about two possible people who'll keep them.
Noah de Oliveira and the person who almost killed him and Derrick.
He played his ballpen in his right hand.
Kierson knows that Noah wouldn't kill Jane Draco as he had seen how he spoiled that woman, and that left him with the man with the gray hair.
If he was correct, the man with the gray hair was Leon’s father, the head of the Vanovick household, and his grandfather's suspected killer, George Vanovick.
If that's the case, then Wayne and George must be working together.
But he couldn't just jump to the conclusion if he didn't have evidence.
He needs to acquire evidence or just catch them red-handed.
Kierson kept the files and stood up. He got his coat and the coat rack and put them on. He fixed himself before he looked at Harvey. “Let's go.”
“Where are you going?” Harvey asked.
“We’ll catch our prey, Harvey. We’ll visit the Vanovicks.”
Harvey held Kierson’s hand and stopped Kierson from going out. “Why all of a sudden? What exactly are you planning?”
Kierson chuckled. “Relax. As my grandfather’s old friend, it is only normal for me to visit him and ask if his toe was okay after running away from all his crimes,” he stated. “After all, I was once his favorite grandson, weren't I?”
“Isn’t it too sudden? The old man might smell something. He might do something behind your back.”
“That’s the point.”
Harvey furrowed his brows. “What?!” he yelled.
“For the bullet to move, you need to pull the trigger.” Kierson started walking and Harvey followed. “Things have been so quiet lately, haven't they? It seems like we need to push them to do something. We can’t continue being like this. We need to catch them in the act,” Kierson said.
Harvey unruffled his hair and sighed.
Harvey admitted that this crisis had been taking a long time to be solved and even he was getting tired of it.
It had been a long time but they still couldn’t kill Wayne Emerson. He didn’t know why the others were so reluctant on killing the bastard.
If he was the one to decide, he would just kill Wayne Emerson, once and for all.
Harvey took a deep breath after they got out of the company building. “Why don’t we just kill Wayne?” he asked.
Kierson looked at Harvey. “Wayne is just the head of the pawns. We need him to bait the one who plays the game,” he replied.
Harvey just nodded even though the statement was puzzling and he didn’t get the point. Kierson would not tell him anything and he guessed that Kierson didn’t tell him about it for his safety. He knows that the more things he learns, the fewer odds that he could get out of the tangled mess.
But Harvey hated being kept in the dark. He might find his way to finding out the truth.
Kierson drove his way to the Vanovick’s Company using his motor.
The people there were the same as always.
There weren’t many people who were roaming around the building as most of them were busy enough with their work.
“Did you set an appointment, Sir?” the woman in the lobby from the front desk asked. “Mr. Chairman isn’t someone whom you could meet as you wished,” the woman added.
Kierson chuckled. “Just tell him that his favorite grandson is here, Miss. I’m sure he’ll run over here.”
The woman sighed. “I hate to say this but he's currently at the meeting right now. I should not disturb him, Sir. You should have organized an appointment first. Please wait until the meeting is over in the lounge area or you could just come back when you already have an appointment.”
Kierson just nodded and walked out.
Harvey sighed. He knows that Kierson wouldn’t let things like this go, especially since he is a Ferrer — one of the biggest shareholders of the Vanovick Company.
For him, George was his prey. There’s a rumor that George was the killer and the reason why George Vanovick killed Harold Ferrer was that he was afraid that the old Master of the Ferrer would take over his company.
Kierson sat in the lounge area and started using his phone while Harvey remained standing on the side.
“Grandfather,” Kierson mumbled.
Harvey couldn’t help himself from laughing as he saw Kierson’s distorted face.
“Kierson? Is this you?” the man on the other line said.
Kierson’s face became even more distorted. “Yes, grandfather.”
Harvey chuckled.
Kierson raised his hand and gave Harvey a middle finger.
“I am currently in your company’s lounge area. I believe that your people here don’t respect the Ferrers, Grandfather,” Kierson declared. “Should I teach them a lesson?”
George Vanovick shortly answered, “Wait for me there, Soviet.”
Kierson smirked. “But I’ve been waiting here for too long that my butt started to hurt. I felt like going out of control. What should I do? Should I kill them?”
Harvey raised his brows and looked at Kierson who was comfortably sitting on a comfy divan.
Talks about being an excellent liar.
George Vanovick gets out of his office in haste along with his secretary.
Kierson smirked when he saw George Vanovick was fast approaching. “I didn’t know that you could run so fast, old man,” he stated.
