DARK HORSE: Alex Ferrer

“Aren’t you supposed to be guarding the corpse?” Kier asked when Kierson left the morgue.
Kierson looked at Kier. “I’m done,” he replied.
Kier furrowed his brows. “What?”
“I said, I am done with it,” Kierson almost yelled. “Seeing Jane’s corpse made my blood boil and knowing that she was tortured to death made me want to kill whoever killed her, Kier. Do you think I’ll be able to stay sane there?” he asked.
Kier moved his head sideways. “You’re okay though when you're doing the autopsies,” he pointed out. “Anyway, what’s your plan?”
Kierson chuckled. “What do you think?”
“Seeing that kind of face, I wouldn't be surprised if you go to jail when this evening passes,” Kier replied. “So… Do you have any leads?”
“The BTK Killer,” Kierson answered.
Harvey couldn’t help but interfere. “Did you mean that serial homicide a few years ago?" he asked. “But General Kio was imprisoned after the insulting incident with your grandfather, Kierson. I don’t think he’ll be able to do it. You know, he was the mastermind of the BTK Killer case.”
Kierson pressed his lips. “We’ll find out about it after visiting the General.”
Kierson also did think that the General wouldn’t even think about doing it as Jane Draco was one of the underlings of Wayne Emerson. And his people inside the police forces said that there was nothing strange inside the city jail particularly related to Kio Bourner. However, the previous victims of BTK Killer were tortured similarly to how they tortured Jane Draco.
The homicide had stopped a few years ago after the General was imprisoned. The authorities haven’t found the killer since then as the killer stopped the serial killing.
But, why does the killer continue now?
Does it have something to do with Noah and Van trying to reach him out?
Or was it related to the boy who called himself Blake Donovan?
Kierson rode his Neiman Marcus and drove his way to the City Jail.
He needed to find out if his suspicion was true.
If the General knew about it, then his daughter, Rose Bourner would be the prime suspect.
If that’s the case, then Vishnu de Oliveira would either be innocent or guilty as Rose is one of his loyal people.
Kierson sighed. He was wishing that his speculation wasn’t accurate. He knew that he wouldn't be able to hurt Vishnu if he really ordered Rose Bourner to kill Jane Draco.
Vishnu’s death would be his biggest downfall.
After a few minutes, he arrived at the City Jail. Kier and Harvey remained at the morgue.
The police authorities immediately assisted Kierson even when his visit was so sudden.
His grandfather was once the Police Chief when he was alive. That's the reason why even the General couldn’t escape when Harold Ferrer convicted him of many crimes.
“Mr. Ferrer,” the Deputy Chief stated. “It’s a pleasure to meet the grandson of our Chief.”
“Cut the formalities. I am here for Kio Bourner.”
The Deputy Chief curiously looked at Kierson. “May I know what business you have with Kio that made you visit him without prior notice?” he asked.
Kierson furrowed his brows. “I am afraid you’re asking something personal, Mr. Deputy Chief Sir,” he replied.
The Deputy Chief didn't have a choice but to shut up as he knew that he should not offend the current Master of the Ferrers. If he did, their leverage might deplete.
The Deputy Chief personally assisted Kier to the visiting room.
“This won’t take long, Deputy Chief. I have to talk to him privately,” Kierson declared. The Chief nodded before getting out.
“I wonder what made you come here, Jerson.”
Kierson clenched his jaw. “It’s Kierson, dumbass,” he said.
“So you’ve finally come out of your shell? I wonder what happened that made you accept being a criminal’s heir,” the General stated. “But if you’re here regarding some other criminal cases, beat me. I haven’t been in contact with them for the whole five years. I’ve been abandoned, you see.”
Kierson chuckled. “I know that since I have my people here.” Kierson brushed his hair. “I am not here for that. I am here for another reason.”
Kierson got an envelope in his bag. “Tell me about your daughter, Rose Bourner.”
The General chuckled. “You are surprisingly dumb, Jerson,” he said. “You have the evidence. Why didn’t you believe it?”
“Tell me what you know," Kierson ordered.
“What do I earn in telling you all of it? What could you offer?”
Kierson gave the General a picture of a man holding a child. “I am sure you know this man, General. I’ll make sure to take my hands off them and his family.”
Jonas Draco, with his own child, Javiel Draco. Before Kierson hired Jonas Draco and offered him a beneficial contract, Kierson long ago knew that Jonas Draco was General Kio's illegitimate son from the woman the General cherishes.
From the start, he already planned this out. He hired Jonas so he could be of use to him.
It was actually a win-win situation. Kierson secured the kid’s future and protection, while Kierson could use Jonas to blackmail the General.
The General frustratedly sighed. “I was working for Wayne Emerson,” he started. “I know that Noah was working with him so I didn’t bother the Oliveira brothers. You could gain nothing from me as I don’t know where your grandfather's older brother was.”
Kierson furrowed his brows. “Older brother?”
The General nodded. “Alex Ferrer, the illegitimate son of the Ferrer family. I bet you didn’t know him as he was the last person you needed to know, however… After all this, Alex Ferrer should be the person you need to find and hunt, not Wayne Emerson as he was just merely a pawn for Alex Ferrer's game.”
Surely, Kierson hasn’t heard about Alex Ferrer. It was news for him. But he remembered that Harold Ferrer once mentioned that Ferrer despised illegitimate children.
Maybe that’s how Alex Ferrer and Wayne Emerson met. They both abhorred Kier's grandparents and eventually schemed their death.
But how could he relate the issue between those four old men to the incident between his parents and Vishnu’s parents?
It does not make any sense.
As Kierson recalled his grandfather's face when he told Kierson about the Ferrer’s hate of illegitimate children, Kierson could see the loneliness obscured in those eyes.
“Alex Ferrer… I don’t know his reasons… but it could be said that he hated your Grandfather,” the General added. He then chuckled without humor. “A man so lost finally ruined his own home.”
