Chapter 22: Telling Him The Truth

“He is now back.” She finally admitted the news that bombarded her the moment she heard about it.
She looked at Jordan searching for another expression but he looked unfazed. Unshaken and unsurprise with what she said.
He calmly looked at her and smiled; “So that is something that bothers you. I know something was wrong when I saw your perplexed expression.”
“You’re not mad?” She replied.
“Why would I? I am more than worried to what’s going on in that pretty head of yours. Been wanting to knock your consciousness and bring yourself back to the present. Your wide-eyed gaze towards the ceiling-scared me for a minute when I saw it.”
She punched his shoulder lightly. Her mouth almost smiling because of Jordan’s honest feedback.
“I am still not liking your beguiling look even I saw you with that kind of expression for a lot of times.” He added. Pulling her closer to him.
“I hate you.”” She retorted. Jordan’s lip went to give her cheek a light kiss before going in to kiss her lips. Giving her some feathery kisses.
“What are you going to do with now? Are you planning on taking him back?”
She flitch at the question. The boiling anger reached her eyes- her fiery eyes are now flaming with intenseness.
“What are you-?” She gaped at him. “I can’t believe what you’re saying right now.”
Jordan displayed a smirk on his face. “I know what I am saying, Nai. I am just wandering what will you do when he come back running at you. Appealingly pleading you to take him back. I just want to know.”
She rolled her eyes at him. “It won’t delude me, Jordan. I would not let him in again in my life. Never.” She was done mourning the situation that didn’t work out. Heck, she even held a funeral for it. But she still can feel the heartache hanging around- circling her heart. Whenever she was reminded with the situation.
“Nai. Your facial muscles are tensed. Please relax them.”
She frowned at him but he only showed her his smile. “How can you be so calm about this?” She queried. “What if he will do something?” She added.
“I can deal with it, Nai. The only think that boggles me is you. I am afraid of what you will be do, the very moment he approaches you with all of his intricate formed reasons.” He warmly looked at her after he declared his thoughts.
“Don’t you trust me?” She expressed- uttering her words with a hint of pique.
“I do. I just don’t try what will happen between the two of you when he decided to do something- presuming his expectant intention about you. Maybe he thinks the situation between you still holds no closure- and he is seeking an answer. Maybe he thinks that both of you still had an unfinished business that needs to be fixed.”
She scoffed at the last words she heard from Jordan.
“There’s no way- he will think something about that.” She answered with full displeasure.
“What if he can?” She looked at him. Sighed at the questions being thrown at her.
“He can’t, Jordan. Your words don’t seem to fit for the kind of person he is.” She shakes her head- disagreeing from what Jordan is trying to imply as his hunches for Raven’s possible next move.
“My doziness went away after I hear these words. I can’t even think that he can do this kind of thing, Jordan. He is not like that. He will not be able to act on that.” Her thoughts are unchangeable.
She settled for the thought she had. That guy is freezingly numbing to her senses- especially when he apathetically gave her a look like she doesn’t matter. Their past meetings- and his treatments. She can pinpoint the same type of analysis. A person like him isn’t capable of empathizing with her emotions. A cold harsh truth that the young her can’t fully comprehend. She saw the signs if his detachment and neutrality. But she kept on doing her heightened desire- the compulsion of her desire to see a new expression from him. Every plan she did- every action she made in regards to her deep yearning to be appreciated by someone like him that brought her a tremendous heartbreak.
The thinness of her breathing made her stop from letting herself say something more. She never liked tackling issues with her pass dealings with this guy. Lots of shabby memories. It took her not only weeks, not only months but a whole damn year- a year wasting her time trying to chase a guy who never truly liked her romantically. Although it took her to get through a lot of disappointment to admit that she lost. But the moment a new awareness strikes her head- she took the big L. Bravely left the difficulties- abandoning it. She was proud for herself from doing that. From taking the false steps because she was blinded by her feelings for the guy- from making calculable moves to help herself to get pass through it.
“I am here. I have your back.”
She broke off from her mind when she heard Jordan spoke after a minute of silence.
“You’ll stick with me? No matter what happens?”
Jordan’s face lit up after hearing her. She can’t understand what is something about what she said that made him smile. Her eyebrows raised- wanting to know why he had that reaction. Jordan seemed to get her because he starts to move his mouth to say something.
“I more than glad to hear that from you right now. Of course, I will be here for you- no matter what happens.” The uttering of such words- listening to the kind of tonality she wants. She ended up smiling at him.
“I hate promises.” Jordan nodded his head after she decided to openly tell him this.
“I know- and I will not be making one. I will show you that I mean what I said by acting upon every single one of it.”
Her smile stretched- liking what she is hearing more than ever.
She never liked the act of giving promises towards someone- nor she liked seeing someone giving another person the word of asseveration only to know that it was a false oath that wasn’t fulfilled. But there are made avowals that was done and that made her believe in making promises. But she learned her lesson of not always seeing the good in everything.
A balance principle- she implied for herself to lessened the load of possible disappointments to come in. That is- seeing people and things for what they are.
To simply let them be- to let them roam free in expressing their individuality. Not everything in life is always good- there are awful ones that can be a bummer. The importance is setting up an awareness for yourself.
Balancing perspective- having a neutral outlook of everything that exist that surrounds her. A proper observation to form an objective thought- that can help herself. She still isn’t successful in fully incorporating all of these in her life- but she is doing what she can do every day. Trying her best to practice the self-preservation idea she made for shielding herself. And each day has a progress- she can’t fasten up the results but she will get her expected outcome for sure. It is guaranteed that she can reach it.
She doesn’t know what will be the next happenings that will emerge in front of her. But she is preparing herself. And the main goal for her is- to not put herself into harm. Because at the end of the day- the person she badly wants to protect is her own self. And for Jordan- he has what it takes to do the right thing. She is pining for him to be in a safe position too just as she yearns for the place, she wants to be in. She moved herself to dash towards him.
“Now- give me a big hug lasting for a long duration.” She demandingly requested.
Jordan chuckled snugging her closer to him. “A big hug coming right up.
