Chapter 31: Different Sides

She put her shoes on the side and entered. Shinai saw her mom. Her mom was taken aback for a bit after seeing Nai entered without a sound. She said that she was tired and she’s planning to head upstairs to sleep. She looked tired. Nai nodded at her.
“Have a good sleep, Mom. You need to make up for those times you overworked yourself.” She knows that her Mom was sleeping late for her deadline. If only she can do something to ease her burden. But Nai knows nothing about the paperworks her mother is working through.
Her mother smiled at her. She took her time to stare at her daughter. Her Shinai is indeed growing. She’s becoming more mature. “There’s sandwich. I prepared you a juice too. The food is on the table.” She said and head upstairs.
She went to the dining table, placed her bag on one of the chairs. She went to the sink to wash her hands, pat it with a dry tower hanged and went back to the table. She stared at the food, held in towards her mouth for her to take a bite. But then she remembered another thing. She put it back on the plate and went to open her bag beside her to check the bracelets she received.
Shinai stared at the friendship bracelet she received from Jordan Edon. She smiled and touched the gems. They were pink and blue. He was quick to make up for some fault he wasn’t even aware of. He brought her the bracelet. Edon brought her a bracelet from Sienna. She placed the bracelet beside her and took a bite of the sandwich. She removed the veggies and munching the bacon. She bit into crisp. Munching the thing she’s a rabbit. She then went to check her bag again and saw the charm bracelet that Aivan gave her. She looked at it. She closed the bag and wore the bracelet Edon gave her.
Nai was sitting on her doing something. Note taking. She was making complains again. She’s been doing the deed for years and that shes’s getting tired of it. She can feel Edon on the other side looking at her notes. But she dismissively ignored it. She doesn’t need to care about his stare for a while. She’ll give a damn about it later. She still needs to finish this fast. She began started picking a fast pace while she wrote the words.
She heard someone complimenting her pace. She looked up only to see Edon on the side with his pal Jervy. She made a dismissive gesture along with the look to let the two know that she should not bother her for a while. Nai can feel the sweats tickling on her forehead so she began to touch it. She began to reach for the handkerchief on the side only to see it having the wrong design. Her neck turned to snapped at the two. Jervy was smiling slyly at her. He was holding her handkerchief, waving it on the air before he then handed it to Edon.
Thus, the exchanging of handkerchief happened. He then started to tease the two of them and told the other people in the classroom. Nai’s eyes wandered to roam the space and too see their reactions.
“I will be making a tandem. I need a name suggestion for these two. This with be the best tandem.” He switched his fingers pointing the two of them. He was looking like he’s a manager making an announcement.
“Like a love team you say?” All of them started looking like shocked, completely surprised after hearing Hachiko talked.
Jervy showed her his thumb. “I like it. A love team this is then.” He stare went towards Edon and Nai before he eventually looked at Verne and Maycee and he pointed at them. The two of them cutting something, they were on the floor minding their own business. They were lost in working with their own thing, Jervy started nodding. “They will be the next one. We need to think about them too!”
Nai eyed the two. She stared at the eggshells that were crushed. There were also jasmine flowers scattered on the floor. She stared at Edon and tilted her head for a bit before giving the two a glance. Her eyes went back immediately towards Edon.
“They’re making a mosaic.” Edon said while flashing her, a smile.
Shinai nodded. Her eyes went to stare at his mouth and then she started blinking. She went to looked at Edon’s eyes again. Edon saw what she just did. His smile widened, still meeting Nai’s eyes.
Jervy sat down. “I cannot think about any name for your love team. Hachiko.” He called Hachiko again. Hachiko looked at her with the same monotonous darkened visual of stoism. She was wearing a black lipstick this time and her eyeliner were a bit smudged.
Shinai and Edon both stared at her before they eyed Jervy who stood from his sit with a pen in hand. He walked towards Hachiko who is sitting alone in her desk and sat beside her. Hachiko sat very chill while Jervy excitedly wrote something on the paper Hachiko gave her. Edon started laughing. Nai stared at him. She was thinking about his laugh, like how much of a golden retriever energy he has both internally and externally.
She started to pull her attention off her surrounding and continued writing. Until a shadow of a silhouette came to her on the side, she looked up only to see Silver. He was looking over her shoulders before his eyes went to meet hers. He was carrying a notebook and a pen. He then sat on the empty seat on the side. Nai looked at her. He then made a sound, to shake his vocals inside his throat.
“I wanted to open up about something.” He eyed her again. “It’s about the mistake.”
Shinai blinked and stared at him in a straight face. She had a sudden knowing what mistake Silver wanted to talk about. She moved, turning herself towards his side. “About my group’s faulty mistake that they created right?” She asked him. She vividly remembered the riot that happened because of Roone and Sienna. They were lucky that their teacher postponed the play, moved the schedule. They will perform next week.
Silver stared at her shoulders again instead meeting her in the eye. “Uh yes.” He made another sound of the throat.
Another one sat beside Silver. She tilted her head to see Nai better. It’s Sienna. “Is Edon still my prince?” She asked her.
Silver’s heard turned to her. Nai couldn’t see the expression he made. She only saw Sienna with her arched eyebrows.
“What??? Got a problem?” The pitched rose, she asked him with a sass.
Silver’s eyes finally met Nai. He straightly stared at her eyes. It made Nai moved her eyes to blink. She felt something just by that stare from him. She dared to meet his eyes again. His never faltered to meet hers.
“Let’s talk about later.” He started.
Nai nodded. It was her turn to make the same sound Silver made earlier. She coughed because of the way he was staring at her too openly, baring the windows of his soul to hers. Something passed, something was felt by Shinai. She began feeling that she was losing her ability to think about something else to reply.
“Uhh. Uhm.” She was stammering for a bit before she stared at him again. “Of course. Let’s talk about it later.” She replied, copying Silver’s words. He started to nod. He then gave her a small smile that was too civil for her liking. He stood from being seated beside Sienna and went back to his original sitting spot.
