Chapter 100. The Second Face

If Lia said that she wasn't worried, it would be like she was lying to herself. What Salsa said made him worry about Aini. Even though it has been more than two days. And during that time, AIni lived together with him. Actually, Hendramo was always waiting in front of their residential area, either morning or night. It seems like it was also coercion from Leo or something like that. However, all of them were rejected by Aini and Lia always managed to drive her away. Because of that, now Lia is telling the guards to expel Hendramo.
Now her mind returns to the day when Salsa explained everything to Lia. Because they were afraid that someone would hear them and also Lia who still had activities, finally Salsa decided to stop their conversation and just stop there. It's clear that Lia is worried about this situation. What should she do? How will he protect Aini? All these questions filled his head. He really didn't know what to do.
“Aini, I'm allowed to go first,” whispered Lia who noticed her best friend was still sleeping. Actually, he had left a message, it's just that he wanted to say it. “Take care and don't… meet your father for today. I will send all the food. So, Aini, I beg you… be strong.”
With just those words, Lia finally left the house. He could already guess that he would not be far away from meeting Hendramo. Not wanting anything to do with the man, Lia immediately looked away, didn't listen to Hendramo's call until her hand was roughly pulled away, completely capturing his attention. This action clearly made Lia feel even more annoyed and angry. His gaze was full of hate, making Hendramo feel small.
“It hurts,” said Lia in a cold tone, successfully causing Hendramo to let go of his hand instantly.
“S-sorry. B-but, where is Aini? Why is he still invisible?”
"What's that got to do with you? Leave before I call security!” Lia's usual threats made Hendramo feel divided. On the one hand, he was afraid of the security, but he also wanted to see Aini. “Still don't get it? Do you need me to step in?”
When he saw Lia raising her hand, Hendramo immediately stepped back. “Y-yes, I will go. I will go!” cried Hendramo, who then ran away. A sigh left Lia's lips before she finally went around, trying to find a place that fit her needs.
"Early morning makes me upset. You bastard!” Lia scolded herself.
Finally, Lia walked quite far from her home area. He even refused to exchange messages with Arjuna, the day before he had said not to be disturbed. When he had found a suitable place, maybe an hour had passed since his departure and he saw Aini who was sending messages with lots of wrong writing. Even so, Lia still knew that she would be at home all day and decided to just sleep.
A small smile appeared on Lia's lips when she imagined how Aini would feel after a day of sleep, especially when she had a deadline for her report before returning to her internship. Trying to get rid of that thought, Lia herself focused on her report, which was almost finished. But of course, he still has to pay attention if there are typos or wrong use of words. When he was focused on doing that task, suddenly he could hear the voice of someone he knew very well, making his whole body feel goosebumps.
“Why do we have to meet?” Lia straightened her body after understanding the situation. Don't let that person see his face. “I already told you, right? I just want to hear Leo's words. I won't listen to anyone else.”
“Why?” said another. Lia had also heard this voice before, so that her hands, which had been exposed to hot water, felt sore for a few moments. “In fact, Leo would not have come this far without my help, you know. So, it's only right that you also listen to what I have to say?”
“I'm not your slave! I'm not Leo's slave, either!”
Stifled screams could be heard, so Lia automatically looked behind her, trying not to be caught by the two women who were arguing. “Keep your mouth shut, okay? It's clear that if you've made a mistake, we should be involved. And you're still acting like this?”
"I will never change my mind. Because for me, Aini is still my best friend.” Salsa's words like that made Lia's heart feel like it was being squeezed, especially when she remembered the incident where Salsa insulted her and Aini. How much pain will he have to endure alone? "It's up to you what you think of me, but I will still protect Aini from Leo. I won't let my best friend marry trash like him!”
The sound of a slap that was so loud filled the place where Lia was. Fortunately, there weren't too many customers, so none of them got curious and tried to interfere. Even so, of course, Lia was worried about Salsa. Is he okay? Was there nothing he could do to help her? It can be said that actually Lia already knows the answer, but what if Salsa already has a plan?
The dilemma that he felt managed to make his head hurt, so he ruffled his hair and took a deep breath, trying to listen more to their conversation while he himself pretended to do his job. From this conversation, at least he will get a new perspective on Salsa, know whether he can be trusted or not. He would go back to learning about his best friend this time.
"Geez, humans don't know advantage. If you really want to tell Aini or another friend about Leo, as long as you know that your life will not be calm! And you think, by telling them, their life will be better? No, you're wrong. Sweet salsa, Leo is stronger than you think. He always has a backup plan in case his initial plan doesn't go well. Because for him, it doesn't matter how the results are important. The result where Aini will belong to him alone.”
Lia's body got goosebumps hearing that, but she tried not to make any sound. “Leo… have you gone mad? Why did he even think that far? No, I'm certain that what he feels isn't love for Aini!”
"So? So, you think that Aini is just a weak girl? Even if you punish her in any way, you won't be able to touch Aini because she has many people who love her!” The sound of slapping could be heard again, this time clearer and louder than before. Lia even bit her lower lip. “No matter how many times you slap me, you can't get rid of that fact. Unlike you, who lives a lowly and lonely life, Aini is not the same as you."
“If you say it's guarded. As long as you know, even once, I won't let you get out of here. You will be bound to me forever.”
A snort escaped from Salsa before she answered, “If you can, try to do it from now on. I'm waiting for your action."
