They Would Kill Us

Chapter eleven – They would Kill us
  Eddie’s POV
I laid on the hospital bed, in reminiscence of Emily, how we used to hold hands and unconsciously touch each other was amazing. We even kissed once, and I smiled at that memory.
She’s really unforgettable, I will forever remember her, love and protect her and that means letting her go. But it’s really going to get difficult when I finally want to find her, now that she’s traveling abroad. My parents stayed abroad and I was the only relative in the country.
If something was to happen to me, they would turn the country upside down to hunt for the criminal. So I had turned down all security procedures because I had wanted to live a simple and trouble less life. But it landed me badly according to what had just happened recently. I had only informed my elder sister about the incident and she was on her way to meet me. But to avoid suspicions from my parents, she didn’t take the private jet.
I had been away from my parents since I was nine and I knew they wouldn’t miss me because of the numerous kids they had. And I wasn’t wrong since they never asked me to return home. And they would always say I wasn’t born to be taken care of but to be an elder who took care of the others. I understood them because I didn’t like treated as a kid anyways.
Nothing had ever gone wrong with me till then and if they were to get a whim of it, it would have been the end of my long journey. Matt’s parents looked after me since I came into the country and meeting Matt to be the only son of the family made us brothers. Everyone thought I was from the country except Emily but I didn’t know if she would remember that anymore since she had forgotten me altogether.
As I was lying there in my thoughts, Matt who had gone out to buy himself some food entered the room. Then I felt he was hiding someone behind him, I looked further then there she was my niece. I had never met her in person but there was no way I couldn’t recognize her. She was such a beauty, apart from my queen, she was the only one I had seen beautiful.
She ran straight to my chest and hugged me tightly, I winced in pain because my body was aching. I had laid down for almost 48 hours making my body stiff.
I pulled her from me and asked,
“How are you doing my angel?”
“What? I should be asking you that Edboy why are you lying there like a wood?” she asked detaching herself from me.
“I am fine as you can see and hear, I am not dead am I ? ” I asked smiling.
She looked at me with sadness in her eyes, then she brought out her phone that was in her small handbag and took a picture of me. I held her hand and said,
“You will have to stop taking pictures of everything, haven’t I told you this before. Your mother informed me that the last time you took a picture of a drunk man pissing in front of a wall. If it wasn’t for your guards you would have been beaten totally. ” I advised.
“What? I only take pictures for evidence sake and trust me I could beat that man into a pulp if I wanted to. ” she boasted.
  “Is that right?” I asked.
“Humm forget about me, you are the one lying there with a rug on your head and thing in your neck. I think I should inform Grandma about this. ” she declared.
“Inform Grandma about what? Oh my goodness, Eddie this is bad, I will have to inform our parents about this. Otherwise if they find out about this they would kill us. ”
  She lamented.
And there she was my third born sister, Nancy the noble. All the other kids respected her because she wasn’t easy to play around with. Not until she gave birth to the angel, the savior of the world Alice.
“You won’t have to say anything to them, it’s rather unfortunate I gave your number to the school for my records. If it wasn’t so you wouldn’t have heard anything about this. Our parents would never kill me because I am their only son among the girls but trust me, they won’t hesitate to kill you cause you know you girls are just too many. ” I threatened her.
“It seems it’s not that bad as you can speak this much you know?”
She asked looking as if she would cry in any given time. So I said to push back the idea of crying,
“Oh no, baby sister don’t cry okay? I am perfectly fine. In fact I feel less pain in every second. ”
Before I knew it, she bolted from the door and gave me a death threatening hug. I was suffocating so I tapped her back slowly and winced “ wow big sister indeed” she stood up hurriedly and asked,
“Oh, I’m sorry was I hurting you?”
“I thought you had forgotten I am hurt, so you couldn’t ask but you finally did. I thank my luck. ”
I said and we all laughed together. We hadn’t stayed together but it was more like we were together, at any given time, Nancy would call and check up on me. She was the only relative that I was very close with and that too on phone calls.
They had come a long way just to see me and I was pleased that they did but my eyes felt heavy from the anesthesia that the doctors had given me. When I was falling asleep, I only wanted to dream about my Emily and it came to pass. It was so vivid like she was in my presence,
