Chapter 52 EPISODE FIFTY-TWO

Panting, Anu bent her head feeling guilty all the way. It was like she lured him to do this. Babajide had never tried to do touch her. This was what she feared most. Lord, forgive me for seducing him. She prayed in the inside of her.
"I'm sorry". Babajide was right beside her in his office. She almost jumped up for fright. Deep in thought, she suddenly discovered that she wasn't alone.
"What-e-ver for?She stuttered avoiding his face, looking away.
"For trying to do what you are not ready for. I have been taking things slowly because I do not want you to misunderstand me at all. Whatever I am doing is as a result of what I went through. Life was rough until I met a lady who showed me help. Since then I have decided to be a help to the vulnerable. No strings attached." He uttered with soberness.
"I should be the one apologising to you. I'm confused sir!" Anu declared weighed down by guilt.
"Can you please do something for me right away?" He responded.
"Anything for you sir? What can I do for you?" Anu replied, eager to please him and make him happy.
"Stop calling me, Sir. Call me Babajide please."
"OMG! It's so hard sir. Anyway, if that's what you want, I will do it sir."
He rolled his eyes, and turned her to face him, wells of desire ran through her desire. She felt like hugging him, but she wouldn't dare.
"Okay- Sir- em- em, I'm sorry, I mean Babajide."
He chuckled softly, and she smiled too.
It's like I have fallen in love with this man, Oh my God! How do I control this desire welling up so strong. I feel like screaming his name right now. God, you have to help me. I love him. Ha, Righteous will suffocate me alive.
"Penny for your thoughts, my love!" He grinned and his face beamed with unusual beauty.
Anu was overwhelmed and could hardly breathe.
"Hmmm, nothing please." She managed to say.
"Okay, why are you confused?"
"I'm married to Bayo, and here am I…." She kept silent. She had wanted to say, Here am I fallen for another man, but married to Bayo. She stopped when she realized what she was about to say. He must never know about my love for him. She said in her mind..
"Listen to me, you are never married to that beast."
"Stop calling my husband a beast. He is the father of my child!" Anu shouted. She has uttered the words before realizing what she uttered. She held her mouth with her hands. Words are powerful. but it was too late.
Babajide's countenance changed and he grew hard and difficult. He made a call to the driver.
"Take this ingrate out of here right away!" Turning to her, he growled, "Out of my sight. Maybe I should take you back to Ile-Ife to meet your beast."
Anu was shocked, he had never seen this side of him. He had always treated her with deep respect. But now this! She couldn't bear to see her benefactor angry. She hastily knelt down in front of him,
"Sir, I am deeply sorry for my stupidity. I promise you that it will never happen again."
Babajide looked down at her and nodded. He picked her up and sat her down on the settee.
"I'm sorry myself for shouting at you. You are my queen. The queen of my heart. I love you so much since the first day I met you with that…." He could not complete the statement lest he made her angry..
Then he asked a surprising question,
"Are you in love with him?"
"What, God forbid bad thing!" She shrugged off her shoulders.
"I hope so!".
The thought of Anu in the hands of Bayo sends me crazy, talkless of another man. I can't bear to have another man have my Anu. Femi is only kidding, and the way I see things, she doesn't really love him. He is only forcing himself on her. Babajide thought in his heart.
"Do you love my brother?" Babajide decided to ask just to be sure of his stand with her.
"Oh no, not again. I had a crush on him in my secondary school, but now I have outgrown such fallacy. Femi is not my type of man. I prefer…... please. It's okay. I don't love him."
"You prefer who?"
"I prefer a more mature man. Femi is immature for me."
Hmmm, I think I have a chance. Babajide mused in his heart.
"Shall we go on a familiarization tour round Lagos metropolis?" Babajide asked with a smirk on his face.
"No way, not on your life!" He uttered.
They both looked in the direction of the voice and cried out,
"Oh, it's you?"
