Chapter 56 EPISODE FIFTY-SIX

First thing in the morning, Anu parked her baggage and set out to go to the park that will take her to Ibadan. She resolved not to beg Babajide Badmus, but rather trust in God for the completion of her studies.
After all, it was God that brought Babajide, and if God has finished with him in her life, He surely has alternative.
What does Babajide mean by refusing to listen to my own side of the story?I am the victim here, not Femi. But no one believes me, even my blood brother.
This is so painful and demoralizing. Anyway, that is life. As the saying goes, if life gives you lemon, turn it to lemonade. This problem will pass. She ruminated in her mind, shrugging her shoulders.
"Hey Anu! Bring your bag let me help you?" Femi uttered. Anu almost jumped out of her skin for fright. She never expected him to come out talkless of carrying her bag. She hissed and continued to go to the road, but Femi came over and forced her, by removing her hand from the bag.
He took back the bag and put them inside one of the cars in the house. There were three different cars in front of the bungalow house. A Jeep car, one Toyota Camry, and a Toyota Corolla. He put on the ignition of the Corolla to take her to the park. She entered the car reluctantly, refusing to say a word to him. He kept on asking questions but she kept numb.
"Please now, Anu. I know that I have sinned against you, but it was because of my love for you. Find it in your heart to forgive me, Please". He pleaded.
"Point of correction, Femi, the rapist. It was not love that pushed you but sheer lust of the flesh. Evil desires, covetousness, bitterness and anger. Hmm, vengeance was in your heart, and you succeeded.
Kai, you are very wicked. But I leave my vengeance to God. God almighty will judge you. Don't think you will go scot-free." Anu opened up her heart. She was full of anger, but she tried to control herself.
"Please, Anu don't worry about your education. I have it all planned out. I will take it over right away. But don't curse me again. I have apologized to you. I'm going to sponsor you."
"Ha ha, ha! Femi! Over my dead body! No way. I will not allow you to do so. You can never be trusted. Is Marriage by force?"
"Becareful Anu, it's too early to refuse my sponsorship. I will do it on a condition that you marry me. It's as simple as that. But think of it this way, if you reject my offer, you may end up leaving the Medical shool. Accept it, and become a medical doctor."
A voice told her to accept it and later ditch him. Pay him back in his own coin. But another one told her to be careful. They soon reached the park. He put her comfortably in a bus going to Ibadan and paid her bill. She waved him goodbye but she remained confused.
She kept on thinking about the issue until she got to Ibadan. On getting down, she entered a vehicle that took her straight away to the campus, where Righteous was waiting for her. She had called to inform her of her arrival.
"Welcome back to the hostel! I thought you were supposed to spend a week or so?"
"Of course, but Babajide Badmus kicked me out of his house, although it was not his fault." Anu responded.
"Whose fault?" Righteous asked frowning, and wondering who could be behind it."
"Hmmm, my fears came true. Femi stood like a big obstacle. Well, you will hear the full gist later please. Let me freshen up and relax."
"Please forgive my insensitivity. Go and take care of yourself."
Anu went on to shower and returned to rest her body. She rested like a baby, fully exhausted from thinking. She woke up to discover she had fifteen missed calls. Her brother, Iyin. Mrs Mabel and Pastor Funke .Her instinct told her to call Mrs Mabel Samuel and send text messages to Iyin concerning her safe arrival. She could call Pastor Funke later.
"I need to see you please! Is it possible now? I need your advice." Mrs Mabel Samuel spoke, with a trembling voice.
"Okay ma, you are free to come right away."
Anu guessed it was pertaining their Marriage. It seemed like they have been separated now. Anyway, she will soon be here to know the condition. She calmed herself down.
"Can we go to a restaurant near by to talk? I'm worried stiff. My husband has refused to return to the house. I don't know his whereabouts. He comes to the hospital, whenever he likes. He stopped going to Church. I guess his spiritual life is down and I am the cause of everything. I feel so worried."
"Okay ma. Let's get to a restaurant then." Anu responded.
Look at me, battling with my own problem of sponsorship, and this woman is coming to meet me for advise. This life is not balanced at all. She thought.
