Mrs Mabel poured her heart out to Anu concerning her home. She needed a solution to restore her husband to the house. Anu listened with rapt attention to her deepest feelings. She knew that one of the ways of respecting a person is by listening. "Wow, ma'am thank you so much for inviting me. Though I marvelled why you decided to choose me out of all the women close to you. You bypassed your Pastors' to see a little girl like me. Ah, I'm humbled by your humility ma'am." Anu confessed, looking at Mrs Mabel Samuel in admiration. I will like to be like this great woman. My respect for her has tripled. Hmm, how can a person of her caliber descend so low as to come for counseling from an ordinary low person like me. Ah, I wonder. Mrs Mabel cleared her throat, used a white hankerchief to clear her eyes, brimming with tears of pain. "You must have been wondering why I chose you, my dear Anu. "Hmm," she sighed deeply, raised her head a little, placed one of her hands on her chin. "Anu, my respect for you started the day you and your friend, Righteous came to inform me about your predicament. You both allowed God to use you to make me see what I have been doing to my husband. In actual fact, the veil was removed. And telling me about your past challenged me. You are a living survivor of rape. You gave birth and never knew the father, until later. You were able to live with a man who was violent and promiscuous. Ha, you challenged me. What I passed through in the hands of my uncle is nothing, compared to yours. Please advise me, I need my husband!" She pleaded with a sober look. "Thank you very much ma'am. Are you willing to satisfy this man in bed?" "Yes, I am willing to do so. I have denied him enough. I will read some good books along that line." She replied with eagerness. "Beautiful ma. Then expect your husband back home any minute from now." "Are you kidding me?" "No ma. I am very serious. I know what to do!" "Please can you share with me, some of your intentions?" "Nope, it's my little secret ma'am." "Ha ha, you naughty girl!" "You can say that again!" They ate their meal chatting until they felt like leaving. Anu returned to school while she left home. Anu got home, called Doctor Sam, Mrs Mabel's husband to go back home immediately. "Sir I have good news for you!" She screamed out of excitement. She could scarcely hold it in. "Anu, my doctor in the making, any news? I had wanted calling to inform you that I want to go home. That the plan is not working at all. I may have to continue to embrace my Cross. But this your good news better be good." "It's so good. You have a new wife. Can you believe that she came to ask my advice on how to bring you home?" "Eh! eh! Unbelievable! Wonders shall never end! Hmm, so what do you want me to do, my counsellor?" "Return to your wife Sir. You have a new one now. I'm happy for you guys!" She yelled. "Okay Anu, I will go home now. I'm grateful to you for doing this. God will reward you mightily. "A loud Amen sir." Anu felt satisfied in her heart because of the working of the Lord. Kneeling before the Lord in the corner of her room, she raised her hands up in worship and adoration to God concerning the couple's reunion. "Who am I for you to use, to restore a couple? A girl you picked from the gutters and made to sit with princes of the earth! An ordinary clay vessel, from a poor background! A fatherless child, that has nothing, making her honourable in the eyes of your glorious daughter and son! Father, take all glory, honour and adoration. Anu kept on worshipping God and praising Him earnestly until her phone rang, and kept on ringing. She refused to pickup, until she was done. She later checked the caller and saw a strange number. She made up her mind not to call back. The number called much later and she picked it. "Hello, who do you want to talk to?" She demanded. "Anu, it's me now! I have been waiting for your response since." "Ha!" Anu had totally forgotten about the case. She recalled one of the messages she read that whenever one is in a dilemma, there are tips to follow, which go thus: Relax your mind and don't bother yourself about the case. Never make decisions when you are angry, confused or even happy. Sleep over the burden, and be refreshed. Pray about everything and God will lead aright. Decisions made under pressure are dangerous and may destroy one's destiny. But waiting on God will bring leadership and divine ideas. Anu felt the need to warn him not to put her under pressure.
