Chapter 11 The Trip

As soon as Alan arrives home I find it empty, the deafening silence frightens me, B likes music and always puts it on at the last possible volume.
Frightened, he goes into the kitchen, which he finds makes him teary-eyed, he knew that B. had left, he left a letter addressed to "Alan, your teacher", with trembling hands he opens it and begins to read it.
"Alan, my favorite teacher...
I'm writing to you because this morning I remembered everything, today I know who I am!
And with this discovery came problems that I don't want to put you in danger of, so I'm leaving here, from your house, but I'll be back soon so that we can live together.
You must be wondering what my name is, Benjamin, this is my name. I only ask one thing of you, that you wait for me. Along with this letter, I'm leaving two tickets to a paradise beach in Brazil so that you and Jo Ann can enjoy your vacation while I sort out my problems. I know you'll be sad that I didn't tell you in person, but I know you'd be happy about what happened to me.
I just have to thank you for supporting me in one of the most difficult moments of my life. Another thing I realized during the short time I spent with you, is that it's wonderful to be in your company, you're a wonderful person, I know I don't say it like that, but Alan my teacher makes me say things like the one I just said. And as for your ex, I promise I'll sort him out. Don't worry, I won't kill him.
Ass: Benjamin Your love!..."
With tears streaming down his face, he finishes reading the letter.
"He's gone" was all that was going through Alan's head.
Without thinking straight, he called Jo Ann, who, incredible as it seemed, was still in the mall.
- Hi, flower of the day.
- Hi," Alan said, bursting into tears.
- What did that son of a bitch do?
- He's gone
- But did he leave anything saying he'd be back?
- He left a letter and two tickets to a beach in Brazil.
- But did he say he would come back?
- He said he'd come back after he'd sorted out the problems in his life.
- So he'll be back
- What if he has someone?
- Stop the show. Pack your bags, we're going on a trip.
- I don't want to go
- Ah! You're going even if you're tied up.
- Then you'll have to tie me up.
- Stop for free. I'm coming over to help you pack a suitcase.
- Are you sure there's only going to be one?
- I can see you're not that bad off. You're even making jokes...
- It's not like that - Alan tries to argue but gives up.
Three hours later...
Alan was about to get on the plane, his whole body trembling. Crazy Benjamin hadn't told him that the damn flight to Brazil would be on a private jet.
"When I meet this son of a good lady, I'm going to kill him if only by kissing him so many times." This thought makes Alan uncomfortable because he's accompanied by Jo Ann.
You might be asking yourself, "But isn't she your best friend?" At least, that's what I'd be asking myself, I Fate.
Even though Alan was shaking all over, his fear overwhelmed him. He was shaking so much that his jaw wouldn't stop for a second.
Jo Ann, already worried about her friend, calls the air hostess who accompanied them on the trip to ask for a tranquilizer for her friend.
- Is this all a fear of airplanes?
Alan just shook his head in agreement.
- Take this medicine and it'll help you calm down.
After taking the tranquilizer, Alan was able to relax and sleep the entire trip.
In Brazil
As soon as Alan stepped out of the airport, an uncommon heat hit him, making him perspire more than usual. He hated perspiring, so he had to thank God that Bes-teming was cold almost all year round.
A warm wind hit his face, reminding him that he could be in his bed, under the covers with the air conditioning on at minimum. He cursed himself for agreeing to come on this deplorable trip. He didn't even like the beach.
- Stop making that face.
Jo Ann scolds him.
- What face? It's the only face I have
- The face of someone who ate and didn't like it
- And you really think I enjoyed coming here - Alan says, showing the place with his right hand, the other holding his suitcase - Apart from the fact that it's 40 degrees hot. Is that normal?
- It is here.
- because I'm going home now - Alan starts to turn to leave when Jo Ann grabs his arm and says:
- You're not going anywhere and leave me here.
- I'm going - Alan stubbornly insists.
- Ahh, so now you're staying.
- I'm not staying.
- Do you really want to go back and run the risk of who knows what happening to you?
- Nothing will happen to me.
- Are you sure?
Alan looked at her incredulously, it seemed that his friend knew more about Benjamin than he did (who had lived with him for a month).
- I'll stay - Jo Ann interrupted him, celebrating - On one condition.
- What? We go out clubbing and get drunk and forget where the hotel is?
- That you tell me what you know about B. that I don't know.
Jo Ann swallows, she knew that one day or another Alan would realize that there was something she wasn't telling him, and unfortunately, that time had come.
- I know the same things you know - Jo played dumb, which worked for the moment, but if she knew her friend well, she wouldn't give up so easily.
As soon as they got into the car, which was already waiting for them, the two clowns started laughing. The music playing on the car radio was sad and funny, which led to more laughter.
- What kind of fucking music is that? - Alan asked, unable to keep up with the laughter
- I don't know," Jo Ann said between laughs.
- Sad and funny. I've never heard anything like it.
- Much less me.
