Chapter 17 The escape

Antony left the house as if he were running away from the devil, in a way it was the devil Cauã, he went to the supermarket as he had told the devil, but the truth was that he would never return to that house, even if he left some documents behind, but he would find a way, he always did.
If regret killed him, he'd be dead and buried by now, you might be wondering what he regretted? Of course he regretted letting Cauã go, yes, Antony hadn't got Cauã out of jail, the judge had, but he had helped the devil win his freedom, and that was something he deeply regretted.
He was certainly on the run, without even realizing the lawyer was running, and the scene was hilarious, imagine, a man in a suit, detail that his suit was black, with only his cell phone in his hand along with his black leather wallet, which Antony hadn't even noticed he hadn't kept in his suit pocket.
Everyone who saw the scene was either frightened or curious because they thought something serious had happened, but as there was no noise, let alone police or ambulances, most people thought he was crazy, and on top of that he was crying, silently, but the tears came in abundance, which confirmed that the lawyer was not "right in the head".
With his vision blurred by tears, he saw everything in a blur, as if they had put a film in front of his eyes. Antony stopped at a light that had turned red, but the tears didn't stop, he was crying so much that he heard whispers around him that said.
- What's wrong with him?
- Mom, why is he crying?
- Look, did someone die?
When he heard the last whispered question that the people around him asked, Antony just wanted to get out of there, to be alone, to see no one, to have no one around him, he wanted to understand what he was feeling at that moment, he wanted to understand why he was crying, and most importantly, why he was on the street letting everyone see him in a moment of weakness.
An was brought up never to show his weaknesses, yet he was sweet and loving, but he never let others see him in a moment of fragility.
The truth is that he left home, his home, so as not to show this fragility that plagued him when he realized that Cauã wasn't all that Coca-Cola, he realized this when he got what he wanted from him and began to mistreat him.
Without thinking twice, to get away from the people, he started running again, but the signal hadn't opened for pedestrians, and Antony was running in the middle of the street with his vision still blurred by the tears that were streaming down his face.
The cars tried to dodge him as much as they could, but a silver car, the only thing he saw, failed to dodge in time and crashed into the lawyer's body.

Marcus left his office at 5 p.m. That day he would be leaving early, he had planned to go out and have some fun, it was Friday and he was off the next day, what harm could there be in having some fun?
He said goodbye to his work colleagues, but they asked him:
- Where are you going in such a hurry? - The receptionist at the clinic asked.
- I'm going out today.
- Have a nice walk. - She wished him well, Marcus thanked her and left in a hurry, walking towards the clinic's parking lot.
When he got home, he walked towards the bathroom. As soon as he reached his destination, he took off his clothes to take a shower.
Once in the bathroom, he starts to get ready. He puts on a black polo shirt, contrary to what most people think about a doctor not being a fan of the color, Marcus loves it and wears it whenever possible. He also chooses dark blue jeans, almost black, to match the shirt, chooses a denim jacket in the same color as the pants, and finally chooses black Vans shoes.
Now he feels ready and comfortable in the clothes he's chosen. Although he loves what he does, he hates having to wear a lab coat; this hatred stems from Marcus' trauma at being forced by his family to become a doctor.
In fact, he was forced to become a doctor, and along the way he learned to love the profession.
The hatred he harbored and still harbors for his father corrodes him from the inside. For the doctor, the concept of family had been totally shattered by his father, who unfortunately was and still is a terrible father and a terrible husband.
His father had hurt him so much for so many years, eighteen to be exact, which was the age when he went off to college in another city, and even then his father, Dr. Denis, tried to control him, but Marcus outsmarted him by tricking him when he got too close to him.
Now Dr. Marcus was out of action and in came Marcus the person, who no longer depended on his father, who was independent, who did what he wanted and how he wanted, who was stripped down and lived a life of fun, who went out with the expensive guy of the year showing off as much as he could, but he didn't expect me, Fate, to put someone in his path.
