Chapter 18 Hospital

Marcus was driving his car at high speed, he was on an avenue, which justified such speed, what he didn't expect was a madman with his head down, crossing the avenue as if he were walking normally.
"Is this madman trying to die?" Marcus asked himself as he saw the madman step in front of his car, which had already swerved away from him.
The accident was unavoidable, Marcus swerved as much as he could, slowing down as much as he could to reduce the impact of the car on the crazy man. When the car slammed into the guy's body, he was thrown a meter, even though Marcus slowed the car down, the impact was too strong.
Concerned about the health of the man he had hit, he got out of the car and began to give first aid. He checked his pulse and found that the man was alive. He checked to see if he had broken any bones, which thank God he had not.
The man had only suffered abrasions, so he knew he could walk away and everything was fine.
His conscience weighed heavily, causing Marcus to pick him up and place his head on his chest, carrying him into the car.
The curious onlookers tried to stop him, but to no avail. When they arrived at the scene of the accident, the car was already on its way.
Marcus was extremely worried about the man lying in the back seat, so without a second thought he headed for the hospital.

Antony woke up in a bed that wasn't his own, to a bright white light that he believed had woken him up.
He opened his eyes wide, trying to adapt to the clarity of the environment, his whole body ached, he couldn't remember why he was so sore, until flashes of memories came into his mind.
He remembered crossing the avenue near his house in tears, but he couldn't remember how he had ended up in a hospital room.
"Maybe he'd been run over?" He thought.
- What were you thinking? - He heard a gruff, sexy and instigating voice coming from his left side. As he was lying on the right side of the gurney, he hadn't noticed it there.
- And who are you? - He asked, turning to face the man who was in the room with him.
Nothing had prepared him for such a sight, he was certainly in heaven and they had done him the favor of not telling him.
The man was slumped in the armchair as if he owned the place, he had royal blue eyes, his hair was almost white blond, his jaw was square and well-defined, and as if that wasn't enough, his fleshy mouth was blood red and gave him an extra charm.
- The man who ran you over.
- And may I know your name?" I whispered through the fog that had taken over his thoughts.
- Of course, my name is Marcus, nice to meet you...
- Antony.
- May I ask why you crossed the busiest avenue in Bestemming as if there were no cars on it?
- I know it was inconsequential, but you were running away...
- From what?
- Her question shouldn't have been what, but who?
Just as Marcus was about to ask the question again, the door to the room opened and in walked another Greek beauty. In An's opinion, it crossed his mind again whether she had died and was in heaven, but his thoughts were interrupted by the doctor who had entered.
- May I speak to the patient alone, Dr. Marcus?
- Of course. - Marcus said, looking at Antony who stared at him without understanding why the other doctor had called him doctor.
- You had been brought here by Dr. Marcus for tests, because he had run you over, according to him.
- Yes, that's what happened
- According to him, you crossed the avenue at the red light, giving him no time to swerve...
- Yes, the truth is that I was running away from my client.
- You're...
- Lawyer. - Antony interrupts him.
- I see, this client, what did he do to you?
- Nothing, but he threatened me.
- I see, I'm going to take you for some tests, and if you're all right you can be discharged.
**
Anxious and frustrated at not being able to enjoy his Friday the way he wanted to, Marcus was in the waiting room, sitting in a white acrylic chair, the smell of chlorine there was genuinely stronger, which helped fuel the nausea he felt.
The truth was that he was afraid he had caused something to happen to Antony, and the worry was taking over his being, making him more anxious than he already was.
Sitting there, waiting for Antony to return from the tests he was having, his thoughts were racing, wondering what he was running from and why he was crying at the time of the accident.
Marcus couldn't understand why he was so worried about a stranger. He couldn't wait, he wanted to be with Antony while he underwent his tests, he wanted to know what tests were being carried out on him, he wanted to be the doctor responsible for looking after him, but since he had run him over, there was no way he could be his doctor. This was eating him up inside.
