Chapter 21 The call

Alan, lying on his bed, too lazy to get up, with three covers over him, listened to the sound of his cell phone when it received a call.
The annoying noise of the ringtone he had chosen made him angry, so he picked up his cell phone from the corner table on the left side of the bed.
- Hello? - he said harshly.
- Is that any way to talk to your mother?
"When you hear the shrill voice you hate the most, of course you'd do a lot worse," he thought, wanting to say it to her face or rather in her ear.
- What do you want?
Alan said with hatred in his voice.
- Treat me with more respect Alan Martins.
She demanded.
- Is that how I should treat someone who kicked me out of the house?
- I'm not the one who kicked you out.
He retorts.
- Yet you colluded with your husband's actions.
- He's your father, Alan.
- Why did you call me?
Alan asks dryly.
- You don't give any more news to your family, Alan," Clara, his mother, if she could be called that, said with concern.
- What do you want to know about my life for? - The teacher responded to his mother's statement with a question that was pertinent to him.
- We're worried about you, son.
- You'd think so," Al says sarcastically. - If you were really worried about me, you wouldn't have kicked me out.
- It was your father who threw you out, I couldn't stop it...
- You're always the perfect family housewife - Alan says, already tired of this bullshit conversation - If you're not going to tell me what you want, I'm going to hang up on Clara.
Al doesn't wait for an answer from the woman who gave birth to him and hangs up on her, then puts her in the same place as before.
Benjamin entered the room he shared with his lover, frowning, worried. He had overheard Alan arguing with someone on the phone and that worried him, especially as his ex was now on the loose.
Justice really didn't work anywhere in the world, that bastard Cauã should have been in prison, but thanks to a jailhouse lawyer, he'd managed to get a writ of habeas corpus for the son of a bitch, and by fate nothing bad had happened to Alan, let alone him.
B. couldn't understand why anyone would help a monster like that, it revolted him, his blood boiled and he wanted to kill anyone who had thought of helping that scoundrel.
When he finally entered the room, he let his mind, which was currently wandering between recent events, empty itself completely.
The sight he saw was a sleeping Alan, lying across the bed as if it were all his, one of his legs was on top of the cyan blue comforter, his breathing was calm, purring from time to time, like a cat showing that he felt safe where he was.
His eyes filled with tears because of everything Alan had been through in his life: he'd been kicked out of home, finished college by leaps and bounds, with the help, of course, of his friend/sister Jo Ann, started a relationship in which he thought he was happy but was actually deceived and manipulated into thinking he was happy.
It all played on Ben's mind, making him think that what he had been through was nothing compared to what Al had been through in his life.
Benjamin was still trying to find out who had given him the slip, his fortune had all ended up in the hands of one of his uncles, and that had set off a warning light in his head.
He suspected some of the people who had helped to carry out this attempt, or rather attempted attempt, on Benjamin, his parents' only heir.
With his eyes wet from crying, the tears were already streaming down his face. Frazzled and terribly unsure of where to start, he threw himself down next to Alan, who B. was sure wasn't asleep, but trying to rest his mind after the argument he'd had on the phone.
As soon as the teacher felt his back getting wet, he realized that B. wasn't having the best day, and worriedly sat up to see what was happening to his lover.

Here I interrupt the story for a moment. I, Destiny, who knows what's going to happen from now on, have come to tell you that in the next few chapters many things are going to happen in the lives of Alan, Benjamin, Antony and Marcus.
These people will have their lives intertwined by the red thread I made. Yes, if you want to blame someone for the things that will happen, you can blame me.
If you've made it this far, you, dear reader, are a warrior, but I warn you, be prepared for what lies ahead.
Next, I'll tell you a little about another character...
