Chapter 24 The mysterious man...

Nathan no longer felt the pokes his father gave him, the pain was so great that he couldn't even feel it anymore, everything he had built had collapsed in front of him.
The life he had hidden for his own good had been snatched away just like that, which had hurt him tremendously.
The truth was that even though he was being beaten, and couldn't do much to get rid of it, his fate couldn't be death.
He heard a voice in the distance, he was almost unconscious, but he managed to make out what it was saying.
- Everything will be all right, I'm coming to your rescue, angel.
There on the ground, being kicked and cursed at, his face wet with a mixture of blood and tears, he couldn't tell if he was dreaming of someone's voice, or if he had actually heard such a statement.
With nothing but the voice to cling to and believe in, Nathan began to pray that the voice would come as soon as possible, because he couldn't hold out much longer.
*
I, as Destiny, and the voice that begged Nathan to hold on a little longer, if only for a second, begged him to hold on.
I couldn't bear to live knowing that someone had died for being who they really were, even more so in the country that had been created in my honor, and most importantly to bring together all the different ways of loving.
The truth was that the world was dominated by backward thinking in the 21st century, so that all forms of love that were different from the one imposed by this totalitarian, totally misogynistic regime claimed to be liberal, but the reality was completely opposite to what they preached.
As the entities that control love, time and people's destiny, we thought quickly and decided to act as soon as possible.
We made an island emerge from the waters that would come to be called Bestemming, the place where everyone could be themselves, without the fear of being killed if they left home as they wished. However, I realized that among those who passed through the gates of Bestemming there were many impostors, or rather prejudiced people who would have children from the LGBTQIAPN+ community, but who inside themselves harbored hatred for this community of people.
I couldn't understand why these people were like that. Because of this mistake, I was now seeing Nathan suffer, and it was killing him little by little, eating me up from the inside out. I didn't understand why I was feeling the pain of dying when I saw this man being beaten by his father, simply because he had discovered that his son was gay.
Benjamin looked at him, not understanding what Alan was doing, he 'Benjamin' couldn't understand why his boyfriend hated his family so much.
Alan had noticed that B. was looking at him, analyzing his actions when talking to his mother.
- Your brother, Nathan - she'd started to say, but the tears hadn't let Clara continue, and that had set off a red alert in Alan, siren and all.
- What happened to my brother?
Alan asked, trying to convey that he didn't care what happened or didn't happen to him.
His parents didn't know, in fact nobody knew, that Alan and Nathan kept in touch, yes they had lost touch for a long time, but at that moment they had met and kept in touch.
Worry ate away at Alan, he couldn't understand why he was so upset about what might have happened to Nathan.
- Your father, he almost killed your brother.
*
Natan woke up in a room that wasn't his, his eyes stinging from the brightness as he opened his eyes, trying to understand where he was.
When he realized he was in a hospital room, he immediately thought:
"At least that monster I called father for 21 years didn't manage to kill me." He tried to get up, but his body ached all over. The most intense pain was in his stomach, where Alec had hit him the hardest.
Immersed in his thoughts, Nathan didn't notice a doctor enter his room.
- Good morning, Mr. Martins.
- Good morning, how did I get here?
- A man brought you here - The doctor, whose name Nathan didn't know until then. - I'm going to ask you a few questions, okay?
The patient nods in agreement.
- What's the last thing you remember?
- Entering the house, going to my room, but I was stopped by my father... by Alec.
- What else do you remember?
- Falling to the floor and him continuing to hit me, that's all I remember.
- The man who brought you here said he found you unconscious, when he got here you were still passed out.
- Where is he?
Nathan said, curiosity eating away at him.
- He left, but said he'd be back as soon as you woke up.
- But how would he know that? - He asked, but the doctor shook his head in disbelief. He also had no idea how the mysterious man would know that he had woken up.
