Roneth was furious when she found out that Daniel had been helping Jane. She felt like he was betraying her. "How could you do this to me?" she asked him. "After everything I've done for you?" Daniel looked at her with sadness in his eyes. "I just wanted to help her," he said. "She's going through a difficult time." "She's a danger to herself and to others," Roneth said. "You should stay away from her." "I can't do that," Daniel said. "She's my friend." Roneth's anger grew. "If you choose her over me," she said. "Then I don't want to see you ever again." Daniel was stunned. He couldn't believe that Roneth was making him choose between her and Jane. "I love you," he said. "But I also care about Jane. I can't leave her when she needs me most." Roneth shook her head. "Then I guess we're done," she said. Roneth stormed out of the house, leaving Daniel standing there alone. Daniel felt heartbroken. He loved Roneth, but he couldn't leave Jane when she needed him most. He decided to go to Jane's apartment. He knocked on the door, but she didn't answer. He knocked again, but still no answer. Daniel tried the doorknob, and it was unlocked. He opened the door and went inside. Jane was lying on the couch, passed out. A bottle of vodka was on the floor next to her. Daniel knew that he had to get Jane help. He picked her up and carried her to his car. He drove her to the hospital and checked her in. He told the nurses that she had been drinking heavily and that she was struggling with her mental health. The nurses took Jane to a room and started to assess her condition. Daniel waited in the waiting room, hoping for the best. A few hours later, the doctor came out to see Daniel. "How is she?" Daniel asked. "She's going to be okay," the doctor said. "She's just dehydrated and exhausted. She's going to have to stay overnight for observation." Daniel sighed with relief. He was so glad that Jane was going to be okay. He sat down in the waiting room and waited for Jane to wake up. He thought about what had happened with Roneth. He knew that she had been hurt by Jane, but he also knew that she loved him. He didn't know what the future held for him and Roneth, but he knew that he had to do what was right for Jane. He had to help her get better. Daniel sat in the waiting room, thinking about his future with Roneth and Jane. He knew that he had to make some difficult choices, but he was determined to do what was right for everyone involved. Daniel's phone rang, startling him. He looked at the caller ID and saw that it was his son, Ethan. "Hey, Dad," Ethan said. "Is everything okay?" "I'm not sure," Daniel said. "What's wrong?" "Mom's been crying for hours," Ethan said. "I can't get her to stop." Daniel's heart sank. He knew that Roneth was hurting. He had hurt her by helping Jane. "I'm coming home," he said. "I'll be there in a little while." Daniel hung up the phone and looked at Jane. She was still asleep. He knew that he had to go home to Roneth and Ethan, but he didn't want to leave Jane alone. He decided to call a therapist and ask her to come to the hospital. He told her about Jane's situation and asked her to stay with her until he got back. The therapist agreed, and Daniel left the hospital. He drove home as fast as he could. He was worried about Roneth. He knew that he had to be there for her. When he arrived home, he found Roneth sitting on the couch, crying. Ethan was sitting next to her, holding her hand. Daniel went over to Roneth and put his arm around her. "I'm so sorry," he said. "I never meant to hurt you." Roneth looked up at him with tears in her eyes. "Why did you do it?" she asked. "Why did you help her?" Daniel sighed. "Because she needed me," he said. "She's my friend." Roneth shook her head. "She's a danger to herself and to others," she said. "You should stay away from her." "I know," Daniel said. "But I can't just leave her when she needs me most." Roneth stood up and walked away. She went into the bedroom and slammed the door behind her. Daniel sat down on the couch next to Ethan. "I'm so sorry," he said to Ethan. "I've made a mess of things." Ethan put his hand on Daniel's shoulder. "It's okay, Dad," he said. "We'll get through this together." Daniel nodded. He knew that he had to fix things with Roneth. He also knew that he had to help Jane get better. It was going to be a difficult road ahead, but Daniel was determined to make things right. ***** Roneth was packing her things and Ethan's. She couldn't take it anymore. She couldn't stay in a house with Daniel who was still helping Jane. Ethan came into the room and saw his mom packing. "Mom, what are you doing?" he asked. "We're moving," Roneth said. "I can't stay here anymore." "But why?" Ethan asked. "What about Dad?" "Your dad has made his choice," Roneth said. "He's chosen Jane over us." Ethan's eyes filled with tears. "I don't want to leave," he said. "I want to stay with Dad." Roneth hugged Ethan tightly. "I know, son," she said. "But we can't stay here anymore." Roneth finished packing and she and Ethan left the house. They didn't know where they were going, but they knew that they had to get away from Daniel. They got into Roneth's car and drove away. Ethan looked back at the house and sighed. He was going to miss his home and his dad. Roneth drove for hours, until she came to a small town. She found a motel and checked in. She and Ethan went to their room and unpacked their things. Ethan was still sad about leaving his home and his dad, but Roneth was determined to make a new life for them both. The next day, Roneth and Ethan went for a walk around the town. They stopped at a park and sat down on a bench. "I know this is hard for you, son," Roneth said. "But I promise that we'll be okay." Ethan nodded. "I know, Mom," he said. "I trust you." Roneth hugged Ethan tightly. She knew that it was going to be a difficult road ahead, but she was determined to give Ethan the best life possible.
