Chapter 66

"Twenty minutes, Rhea. I'm giving you twenty minutes to talk to your daughter. After that, I will release her on the street, and you will come with me. Don't try to fool me or else... we will all be buried six feet underground," Ythan warned.
Rhea bit her tongue to stop the bad words she wanted to say to Ythan. Her gaze shifted from his face to the remote control she was holding. 'Is there a bomb in this building?' she thought. She turned her eyes around to look for the bomb but she didn't see it.
"Twenty minutes start now!" Ythan said. "Jett, keep a good eye on them," he instructed before finally leaving the room. Jett bowed in agreement to his boss’ command.
Rhea was looking angrily at the door that had just closed. Her hands that had been clenched suddenly opened when she felt Freya was holding her. A series of tears immediately fell from her eyes. She quickly turned to face Freya and hugged her tightly.
"I'm sorry, my child. We met in this situation. Mother misses you so much. I love you so much, Freya," Rhea sobbed.
"Mom, why did you come here? You shouldn't have bothered. Did I hear right? You're going with that demon just to save me?" Freya asked.
Rhea removed her hold on Freya and touched her cheeks. She was looking directly into her eyes. "Freya, I'm a mother. I can do anything for you. You are not just anyone, you are my only daughter. I can't just leave you alone. I'm the only one Ythan needs. I didn't think his evil would reach this level. He loved me too deeply. His obsession made him a criminal. Don't worry about me, Freya. Ythan is kind to me. Think about yourself." Rhea kissed Freya on the cheeks and hugged her again.
"What about dad? How about me? We love you so much too, mom! It's been so long since we've been together. I can't forgive myself if I become the reason why we separated up again!" Freya's eyes welled up with copious tears.
Rhea immediately wiped her daughter’s tears. "No, Freya! You are not the reason. There is no bad person inside this building if not Ythan. Don't blame yourself. You need to leave here. Yael is waiting for you," said Rhea.
Freya stopped crying. "Yael. How did you know him?" she asked.
Rhea nodded. "He's my grandson. Who wouldn't recognize that boy? Yael is smart, intelligent and loving! I can feel his love for me in his hugs and eyes, even though it's only the first time we've met. It's funny, well, he doesn't want to call me grandma because he says I'm too young to be a grandma." Rhea laughed. "He inherited some of your father's attitude," she said jokingly.
"What Yael said is true, mom. You are beautiful and your real age is not obvious from your face. What happened? Why is your face like that? You look okay but your original face is still prettier than your current look. I miss you so much, mom." Freya wanted to hug her mother but she couldn't because her hands were tied. "Wait, how did you talk to Yael? Do you know where he is now?" she asked in surprise.
"Yael found her way to Diana while searching for you. Yael is safe, daughter. He is in the Grays' custody. You don't have to search anymore," Rhea said with a smile.
Freya sobbed as she looked up. 'My God! Thank you very much for saving and guiding my son!' her mind screamed.
"Daughter, your family will be complete after this. I am so happy for you. Take care of your husband and son and always remember that there is no perfect relationship. All married couples have misunderstandings and conflicts. You should love each other despite your shortcomings and flaws." Rhea stroked Freya's hair. "You're just a little kid back then. I have missed almost all of your milestones… your childhood, teenage years and now… but I'm glad that I had found a way to save you from the hands of that criminal." Rhea felt that her cheeks were wet again.
"You still haven't changed, mom. You're still ready to sacrifice your life for the people you love. This time, I won't let you out of my sight. Mom, I want you to know that there are also people who are willing to sacrifice and fight for your happiness. Maybe, you are right. Ythan cannot hurt you. Physically, yes, but emotionally...I doubt it. I know your life will be miserable with him. I won't let it happen. I won't be completely happy if dad and I can't make us together...if I know that sadness is killing you over and over again in the company of Mr. Marcus," said Freya. "Mom, take the straps off my body," she said as she looked at the sleeping Jett.
Rhea's eyes widened. She looked at Ythan's staff before kneeling in front of his daughter while shaking her head. "You're just putting your life in danger, Freya. This time, you should think about Yael's welfare and not mine. You don't have to run away because Ythan will let you go the moment I go with him," she said.
Freya laughed softly. "He won't do that." Suddenly her face became serious. "Ythan Marcus is a demon of no words. I guarantee he will kill me and Jackson by the time you leave because he sees me as a rival…a rival for your love, time and attention. Mom, trust me. At this time, I have nothing but you and dad. So please, mother. Let Jackson and I go while Jett is still fast asleep," she begged.
Rhea looked at the unconscious Jackson. Because of the sacrifice she made for her daughter, she suddenly felt relieved. She thought for a moment. Her daughter has a point. Ythan is wild and jealous of others. Only to her did he show the goodness of his heart. Apart from her, there is no one. She stood up and was about to untie Freya's body when she suddenly felt someone standing behind her. Suddenly her heart beat faster. Her muscles suddenly tensed due to extreme nervousness and fear. Dread engulfed her whole system even more when the person behind her spoke.
"What are you planning to do?" Jett asked as he glared at Rhea.
