Chapter 24 The proud moment

"No one has ever done something like this, Tara. Thank you so much," Alex said, his eyes welling with emotion as he looked up at her. A single tear rolled down his cheek, and he wiped it away. "It's so beautiful, thank you for this," he expressed his gratitude once again.
Her heart warmed at his heartfelt appreciation, and she playfully added, "Well, now you have me to do things like this for you."
Their gazes locked as they shared a special moment, and at that exact instant, a camera's flash illuminated the scene. They turned to find Josh capturing the moment with his camera. Alex, moved by the emotions, stepped behind Tara and requested Josh to take a few photos of the two of them together. They posed for several pictures, creating lasting memories.
Later, they continued to take photos with friends and family, commemorating this momentous day.
As Alex ascended the stage to receive his well-deserved certificate from the higher officials, Tara cheered for him with all her might from the enthusiastic audience. Her heart swelled with a sense of pride as she thought back to all the hardships he had endured while working and studying simultaneously. Tears of joy welled up in her eyes as she reflected on his remarkable journey.
Her mother, noticing Tara's emotional state, hugged her gently from the side, offering silent support and understanding. It was a momentous occasion that held a special place in their hearts.
When Guna stepped onto the stage to collect his certificate, Tara couldn't contain her enthusiasm. She shouted his name with exuberance, and her voice resonated throughout the hall. Her exclamation, "I'm proud of you brother!" drew the attention of many in the audience. The room filled with laughter and warm smiles as they appreciated her spirited proclamation.
Tara felt an overwhelming sense of pride and love for the two most important men in her life. These were the moments they would cherish forever, marking a significant chapter in their lives.
As Alex and Guna walked toward the group in the field, their graduation caps and gowns making them look distinguished, Tara couldn't contain her excitement. She started running toward them, her heart full of pride for her brother and her dear friend. She saw the custom tie she had gifted to Guna, and she jumped into his arms, shouting her congratulations into his ear. Guna laughed and spun her around, and she let out a gleeful shriek.
When Guna finally put her down, she turned to Alex with a beaming smile. "I'm proud of you too, Alex," she exclaimed. Alex expressed his gratitude to her and her family for their unwavering support, and her mother took numerous pictures of the two graduates in their cap and gown. In a touching moment, Alex made Tara wear his graduation cap, and Guna draped his gown around her, creating a special memory captured by the camera.
As they took more pictures together, capturing the joyous moment of their achievements, Guna leaned in and whispered to her, "You will have to wear your own graduation cap and gown one day, princess. I want to see you in it." Tara nodded and promised that she would also strive to make her family proud in the future.
After the photoshoot, they all headed out to have a celebratory late lunch, cherishing the time they spent together as a family. And a week later, they sat together at the dining table, not a single empty chair in sight, and Tara could not help but smile, her heart brimming with gratitude for her loving family.
Later that night, after the graduation ceremony, Guna and Alex had gone out to meet their friends for a celebration party. Tara retreated to her room, as she often did when there were no assignments to work on, and curled up with a novel to while away the hours.
Hours later, she heard some commotion coming from the hallway and decided to investigate. As she descended the stairs, she noticed that Guna was leaning on Alex, looking rather unsteady. Alex, meanwhile, was engaged in a conversation with her father. Concerned for her brother, she approached them quickly."What happened to him?" she asked, her voice filled with panic. Her father and Alex both turned to look up the stairs in response to her worried inquiry.
Her father reassured her, "Nothing, sweetie. He's just a little drunk, that's all. You should go back to your room and get some sleep."
With an understanding "Ohh," she looked over at Alex, checking to see if he was affected by alcohol as well. He offered her a reassuring smile and said in a quiet tone, "I'm sober, don't worry." Tara let out a relieved sigh and, following her father's advice, returned to her room hoping to sleep the night off.
