Third-Person POV Elyana's parents finally arrived that afternoon. They headed straight to the hospital right after getting out of the airport. There were a lot of tears filled with happiness as the three shared a long, warm embrace, and since Elyana's parents were already there, Eugene and Felicity decided to go home. When they arrived, Eugene took advantage of the opportunity to speak with her matchmaker son one-on-one. They walked side by side into the front door, and Eugene began to ask him the question she had been wanting to ask for so long: "When do you intend to tell her the truth?" Felicity continued walking alongside her, letting out a deep sigh before responding. "I don't know yet, Mom." His expression was enough for Eugene to see that the matchmaker didn't have a firm plan. "I know you are scared; I can feel it. But if I were in Elyana's situation, I would not be angry; I might even be happy because my son's father is handsome and someone I could rely on to raise the child. Also, her family already knows you; they know you are not a bad person, and once you explain why you did what you did, I knew Marietta and Cihan would understand." "But, Mom, they know I am gay; they have seen me grow up, and I often hide from them to be who I am," Felicity replied. Eugene's shoulder dropped when she saw too much worry in her son's eyes as he turned to face her. Her son was right. They were aware that he was gay, but Felicity had no reason to be ashamed or fearful. It broke her heart to see her son believe that his gender made it impossible for him to be a good father to his precious child. She could feel he was not yet ready to accept that responsibility, but the child was already there. "W-what I'm just saying is that I will support you in all the plans you have. Just don't let this take much longer. I also want the child to know you as his father," Eugene told him instead of adding more pressure. "I know, Mom. I know," he answered before they parted ways. Felicity proceeded to his room while his mother's words repeatedly played inside his head like a recording. He also wanted the same—for his son to know him—but the extreme fear lingering inside was stopping him. He hadn't been that frightened in his life, and the funny thing for him was that it was because of a newborn child. *** The next day, the newborn baby was scheduled for various types of examinations to determine his health status. Doctor Chelsea had just arrived at the hospital at that moment and had prioritized going there earlier than her clinic to take care of her VIP patient. Elyana was currently in the room with her parents and taking care of their daughter, who was still struggling to move, while Felicity was just on the way with the breakfast that her mother cooked after she volunteered to cook breakfast for them. When he arrived at the hospital, the child was being examined. He was informed about that the day before. People who recognized him were greeting him, but the smile on his face that day was too bright because he couldn't erase his son's cute face. He couldn't hide the excitement of seeing him again. Quintin already heard that Elyana gave birth the other day from the housekeepers, who asked for his number. Those servants became his eyes inside the mansion to know what was going on and they mostly reported everything to him without him asking. Even though Elyana wouldn't let him come, he decided to visit his friend just to check on her. He went to a flower shop and bought Elyana a large basket full of different kinds of fruits. He was on his way to the hospital when Felicity reached the elevator on the floor where Elyana's room was located. Preoccupied, Felicity didn't notice a nurse running when he stepped out of the elevator. She suddenly appeared in front of her, and because Felicity was not prepared, they almost bumped into each other. "I-I'm very sorry!" The nurse apologized as quickly as she could. Still stunned, Felicity did not get mad. "It's okay, you may go," he said, and before he could even finish what he was about to say, the anxious nurse ran away with an apologetic look. Felicity continued his phase. When he was already right in front of the door of Elyana's room, he heard arguments coming inside. "N-noo! Please, Dad! Let me see him." Felicity automatically frowned when he heard Elyana's plea. It wasn't just like the way she begged the other day to see the baby. With the tone of it, Elyana was in such extreme fear that it immediately made him think that something wrong was happening. He thought of getting inside the room to ask them what was going on, but he stopped when Cihan started speaking, "L-listen, princess, they will not allow you there. They won't let you give him blood either because you just had your operation." It was evident in Cihan's voice how much he was trying to stay calm in such moments, but hearing the word "blood" triggered Felicity's heart to start pounding. He knew he did not need to hear more; however, even though he wanted to move and run to where his son was, he couldn't move. He felt stuck to the floor. His legs felt too heavy for him to carry.
