Chapter 82.2

"Try to calm down, Ellie. We will do everything in our power to make sure your son is safe." It was Marietta speaking this time. When he heard it, there was a sudden strength he got to step his foot after realizing he wouldn't be seeing Elyana's parents where he would be heading.
He sprinted as fast as he could to the NICU, dropping the bag of food he was holding on the floor. He did not dare look back again to see if it had spilled anything, even though he knew how bad it was to waste food.
For him, his son was more important. It made him so nervous that he had no idea what his condition was or why he needed blood.
When he reached the NICU, he was intercepted by a nurse.
"W-where is Chelsea?" he asked the nurse blocking his way in.
"She's inside," the nurse answered, who was stunned by his sudden appearance.
"Let me in. I want to talk to her," he pleaded while the nurse, who was smaller than Felicity, tried her best not to let the matchmaker get inside the room.
"You're not allowed here, Si-ma'am," the nurse told him. She almost called him Sir; luckily, she corrected it before it got too late.
Felicity stopped pushing her when he heard that. It calmed him a little, but it didn't lessen his worry. "Please tell her I am here. I want to help the baby," he uttered and the nurse thought for a few seconds before heading back to another room inside the NICU.
He waited outside impatiently, walking back and forth in front of the door until Chelsea came out.
"W-what happened, Chelsea?" he asked her nervously.
"He has anemia. We need blood for him and because he was less than nine months old when he left his mother's womb, he's having difficulty producing his red blood cells to help his body. He needs enough to combat any possible diseases and blood transfusion is the fastest method to help him right now," Chelsea briefly explained.
"Is there a bag of blood available at this moment?"
"There is—"
"N-no, do not use those on my son. Check my blood. I do not want him to receive someone else's blood; we do not even know if the donor was sick." Felicity panicked, but Chelsea wanted to laugh at him at the time because of how he reacted.
It was the first time Chelsea saw him that way. He was too overprotective of the child. She somehow understood it because it was an emergency, but she couldn't remove the amusement because it was far from the chill and easy-go-lucky Felicity she was seeing that day.
"What is your blood type?" Chelsea asked him.
"AB+," Felicity immediately answered.
Chelsea smiled after hearing it. It matched the baby's blood type so she immediately ordered one of the nurses assisting her to take Felicity to a designated room.
Felicity gave them one bag of blood, which was more than the baby needed. "Keep those left in case my baby needs more of my blood, Chelsea," he said to the doctor as they were taking blood from him.
After filling one bag, Felicity felt dizzy. Chelsea advised him to stay on the bed and rest for some time before leaving. While he did so, he heard a few footsteps coming close to where he was lying down. It stopped and some people started talking, and he recognized the owners.
Elyana's parents arrived to talk to Chelsea. He couldn't see them because there was a curtain blocking where he was. They asked about the baby and it could be sensed in their voices the relief they felt right after hearing he was already doing fine after the blood transfusion.
That also made Felicity happy. His panicking mind finally calmed.
His eyes were trying to close as he rested. Even if he did not want to fall asleep on that bed, he fell deeply asleep without noticing it. He didn't know for how long, but he gathered enough strength when he opened his eyes.
He headed to Elyana's room, stopping in front of the door first to check if there were people inside before getting in. All he heard was silence.
Felicity turned the doorknob and he decided to peep inside first. There, he realized that there was no one else inside except for Elyana, who was sitting on the bed and looking into the slightly opened door.
"Get in," Elyana uttered with a frown. She had a feeling it was already her best friend, whom she was waiting for.
Felicity had no choice but to enter, but right after he closed the door behind him, he got nervous when their eyes met and Elyana said this in a tone that made his knees tremble, "We need to talk."
