Vol 2 Chapter 2 Darkness of the Mind #2

Jake: "God, that was such a waste of time."
Jarvis: "You know you should listen to your teacher, right?"
Jake: "I don't care about his training anymore. I'll train alone if he isn't helping me get stronger."
Jarvis: "And how are you gonna do that?"
Jake: "Look, I'll handle that part myself, so quit asking me questions."
Jarvis: "Maybe Daeden was right."
Jake: "Maybe you should learn to mute yourself instead."
Not another word came out of Jarvis; his user silenced the once always so talkative. Jarvis did not blame Jake for his course of action. He could only hope for him to change. Jake flew towards the sky, looking down to find any abandoned area. To his luck, he found an abandoned factory. He descends to the factory, opens the large metal doors, and sees an opportunity. The machines were all broken down, and many metal scraps were lying on the ground. Jake gathered all the pieces of metal he could find, including breaking the machines into pieces. Jake uses his mimicry to melt and mould the scarps into a gigantic solid cube. Jake does not mimic any powers; he then places his fist at the cube's centre, pulling it back and aiming. Jake lands a punch with all his strength, his fist colliding with the metal cube, but it only leaves a medium dent. Jake felt useless, that most of his strength came from his powers, and that he was nothing without it. Angered by the situation, Jake continued to punch the giant metal cube, shouting non-stop for hours; Jake kept hitting the cube, even when he was hungry until his knuckles began to break and bleed. Jake falls onto the ground, breathing heavily before passing out.
Jackson: "Can you hear me, Jake? Wake up. Wake up, Jake."
Jake opens his eyes, and Jackson stands beside him with a food bag. Jake sits up slowly, his hands still broken.
Jackson: "Here's your food. I heard your stomach growling when I found you passed out here."
Jake mimics telekinesis; he opens the bag and takes out the food, chowing it down like he hasn't had food for a week. Jackson took out his dinner and ate beside Jake.
Jackson: "So…Jake….Why are you here in this abandoned factory?... And….Why are your hands broken?"
Jake did not answer Jackson's question; he only kept eating the food Jackson brought him. (Jackson was eating during the conversation)
Jackson: "Welp, I'll let you finish your food then. You don't have to answer me now….Also….FYI….The reason I found you here was….Because of the folks nearby the…..Church….They said they heard sounds coming from here. So I….Came here to check it out."
Jake finishes the meal that Jackson had brought. He then accelerates his metabolism to provide sufficient energy to regenerate his hands.
Jake: "I'm just here…training myself. Trying to strengthen my knuckles first."
Jackson: "Well, that explains the dent in that metal cube….By the way… Don't you like….Train with a master?"
Jake: "He isn't willing to train me until I pass some dumb trial."
Jackson: "What's the trial about?"
Jake: "It's none of your business."
Jackson notices how Jake changes a bit after the fight. He finishes up his meal before packing up.
Jackson: "OK then."
  Jackson looks at the sky.
Jackson: "It's getting late now. I have to go back to the church to help clean up."
As Jackson was leaving the building, Jake called out to Jackson.
Jake: "Thanks…for the food."
Jackson: "No problem."
Jackson then leaves the area, flying back to the church. After retiring, Jake looked back at the metal cube, down to his hands, and questioned himself.
Jake: "Am I…stubborn."
???: “Nooooo….They do not understand you….Master Daeden does not know anything that you need right now…..Get stronger….Prove to them….Do not let anyone die again….Even…If it means…You….Die…”
Jake takes one last look at the cube before flying back home to rest. Five months had passed; Jake turned the once-abandoned factory into an entire training ground for himself, utilising the open space it was located at. Jake uses his mimicry to gain the intelligence of Tony Stark (It could've been Rick, but that guy has been through way too much fucked up shit); Jake made a training ground consisting of robots, lasers etc., with the help of Jarvis' inventory. Jake had trained himself not to rely on his powers during battle, getting stronger by the day, along with his unfavourable thoughts of himself. Each day, Jake wakes up to train, and he sinks deeper into darkness, pushing himself every day with the thoughts of never being able to save everyone. At the same time, to keep up with his diet and increase his overall budget, Jake went bounty hunting; Jake made a computer connected to Jarvis, which scans for any wanted criminal across the globe and their current location. Jake would start his day training; at night, he would wear a mask and take on a new persona. Hunting down any that had any criminal record, he would turn in the criminals with a bounty and kill those who didn't. The crimes did not matter if they were big or small. Jake would kill them on the spot. There were only a few exceptions where the criminal committed crimes only to feed their family, Jake would turn them in instead. During those five months, Jake had turned in many crime members who had bounties, killed off nearly 200+ criminals and destroyed many gangs if he deemed dangerous. News spread throughout the globe of the mysterious hero of the night; many speculate him to have immoral motives; some stood on the hero's side, some began to fear the hero, while others worshipped him. Yet Jake never wanted any of the fame; he remained anonymous to the people; all he wanted was the money and training. To this day, the crime rate began pouring downwards, streets were clean of corruption, and no one could track the hero down as he only wanted cash when turning in a bounty. So, once the authorities devised a plan to unravel the hero's true identity, they placed a fake bounty on one of their colleagues and had them take the role of a mafia gang boss. Their plan works as Jake captures and brings him to the nearby station. He was then given a large sum of money. Jake turned in the criminal and took the bag; right as he was about to leave, he placed his hand within the bag, grabbing the device built within the pack. He ripped it out right in front of the police officers and threw it on the ground before stomping it. Jake then slightly turns his head to the side.
???: “Do not….Try this again.”
Jake left, leaving everyone shaken. After that day, no one dared to find out his secrets. They all continued with their jobs, grateful that the city was safe.
Jake returns home everyday with a large bag of money, hiding most of them in Jarvis' inventory, and keeping one bag in the house. Jake lies on the bed; his face is never pleased, never happy; he feels…nothing from doing all this. The cycle continues with training and hunting. On some days, Jackson would come to his training ground to train with Jake.
