Jackson’s vision slowly recovered. Jackson looked around, but the hero of the night was nowhere to be seen. He was furious that the ‘hero’ managed to escape, but he could do nothing to find him. Jackson then turned towards the boy and rushed, carrying him to a nearby hospital. When one was left at the scene, a passer-by witnessed and recorded the act; the person went as far as to soak up the blood left by the hero with his handkerchief, and the person left the scene before anyone spotted him. A few moments later, the police showed up as the workers inside the 7-Eleven had phoned them. The worker was then questioned if he had witnessed anything; the police also checked around for any survivors and surveillance cameras. Ambulances soon arrive to bring the survivors of the bloodbath to the hospital. After sustaining many injuries, Jake went invisible when he was far enough to where no one could spot him. He then flies back to his house. Jake slowly made his way into the house, clinging to life. Jake took a bottle of painkillers and swallowed every tablet there was; he then went around the house, finding anything edible to replenish his energy. Before Jake could begin eating, his doorbell rang. It was Jackson. Jackson: “Hey, Jake. Are you okay in there? There was a blood bath that took place nearby. It was the night hero, or whatever he is called; the guy almost murdered a kid, and they say he’s a hero. Now it’s all over the news.” Jake: “Oh…Something like that happened…” Jackson: “You don’t sound so good. Is something wrong?” Jake: “No….(cough)….I just…(cough)….Feel…(cough)…Very sick….(cough)…That’s all…(cough)…Maybe we can chat tomorrow….(cough)…I wanna go….(cough)… get some rest.” Jackson: “Okay, you take care then.” Jackson grew suspicious of Jake but did not question him much without any evidence. Jackson flies away and back to the church. Jake was left alone yet again. Jake wanted to go back to the kitchen to eat but stopped immediately; he felt nauseous and dizzy; he rushed to the toilet, vomiting out the painkillers that he had consumed. Jake slowly stood back up and walked towards the sink to wash his face; he took off his mask and looked at the mirror; he saw himself becoming more and more consumed by the darkness. He slowly placed his hand on his face, questioning why he was slowly turning into the one thing he hated: a villain. Jake shrugs it off, washes his face, and tries to forget about it. Jake goes back into the kitchen and begins eating anything he has, including raw food. Jake replenishes his energy completely; he then helps himself from the damage he had taken from Jackson. After what Jackson said, Jake returned to the living room to turn on the television. Jake watched the news, and every good word about him soon turned to criticism. The people who once saw the hero of the night as a sign of justice now see him as a person of malevolence instead. Jake: “They all…Hate me…Now….I didn’t…mean to do it…” ???: “They all think you’re the villain now because you were doing the right thing, they despise you because they envy you, they are the true villains, the hierarchs of man are holding society, controlling how they think. If you can end the corruption of man, you can save the innocent from their power.” Jake: “Yes….I will kill those who have a big influence on the world; maybe they’ll see me as a hero again, and I can continue saving lives.” Jake plotted to kill everyone who saw him as the bag guy; it’ll take place worldwide tomorrow. In the meantime, Jake goes to take a shower and get some rest. The next day, Jake went back to the training grounds to train with Jackson to reduce the suspicion that Jackson had on him. Jackson: “You feeling better?” Jake: “Yeah, I’m fully recovered.” Jackson: “Glad you’re back.” Jake: “I’m glad to be back as well. Was getting bored being sick at home.” Jake and Jackson began their training, but shortly after, they were interrupted by an army. Jake: “Man, I miss trai……” Jackson: “Jake, look out!.” A missile was shot directly at Jake. Jackson pulled Jake away just in time before it could hit Jake. The rocket launcher redirected its path, homing onto Jackson. Jake pushed Jackson away, knowing that he could die from the explosion. Jake had to return to using his powers, turning his skin into titanium and tanking the shot. Jake and Jackson looked around the area; the military surrounded them, helicopters emerged from the forest, tanks came rolling in, and soldiers got into position. They were outnumbered. Sargeant: “You are surrounded, Norman. Surrender yourself, or we will have to use force!” Jackson: “Why are they surrounding us? And who the fuck is Norman?” Jake: “I don’t know. Something must be off.” Sargeant: “Do not make this any harder for yourself, Norman. We have proof of what you’ve done in the past few months. The world knows who you are now, so you won’t be able to run away forever. So surrender now!” Jackson: “I think you got the wrong people. There is no Norman here.” Sargeant: “There is! And he’s….” Before the sergeant could finish his sentence, Jake fired an energy beam at the sergeant’s heart, killing him on the spot. Jackson: “Why did you do that!?” Jake: “They aren’t real; they are all mind-controlled, and unless we kill them, they will never stop coming after us.” Jackson: “Weren’t they trying to find a guy named Norman?” Jake: “We can find the guy later. For now, we must free them from their mind control state.” Jackson: “I don’t feel good about all this.” Jackson hesitates for a second, but Jake goes right in, destroying tanks and choppers, running through the rain of bullets fired like they were nothing, and ripping the soldiers apart. Jake: “Don’t just stand there. Help me with this.” Jackson jumped in and began clearing up the area, but he did not kill anyone. He only knocked them out. As the fight continued, Jackson grew curious as to why the army was after them; he then grabbed a soldier by the collar, questioning him why they were after him and Jake. Soldier: “We aren’t after you; we are after your friend over there; he’s a murderer.” Jackson: “I don’t believe it; Jake is a hero who devoted himself to protecting the world.” Soldier: “He’s lying to you. He’s no hero.” Jackson: “I’m not buying it.” Jackson then knocks out the soldier. Jackson: “I refuse to believe my friend is a monster.” The army grew fewer men, and Jake had almost wiped out the soldiers on his side. Jake thought it would soon be over. However, things did not go his way. Right as Jackson was about to knock out the rest of the soldiers, the priest who took Jackson in came running towards Jackson. Priest: “Stop this, Jackson. The army is not the enemy. Your friend is.” Jackson: “No, he can’t be.” The priest then handed Jackson a newspaper that had recently come out. Jackson saw the one thing he did not want to believe on the front cover. The hero of the night…..was Jake.
