Chapter 51 Familiar Faces
Siren turned her head onto the person who's touching the same dress she's holding.
"I like this." The smile of the woman holding the dress was as bright as the dress she was holding.
Her desire to wear the red dress can be seen. And it didn't seem to notice his presence.
"I'm sorry, but I think you got it wrong. This dress is mine." Raised an eyebrow she said to the woman.
When she said that, the woman looked at her. It was obvious in her eyes that she did not like what she said.
"Reena?"
When she turned to the woman's companion, she immediately recognized Conrad's younger aunt. Claudia.
She could clearly see the gradual tilt of one of the woman's eyebrows. Obviously she also didn’t like their meeting out of nowhere.
"Wait, Reena? As in Reena the maid?" Meryll looked at her fiancé's aunt with an exaggerated expression. Claudia didn't want to but nods.
On the other hand, Siren couldn't stop herself from rolling her eyes. She thought that there would be no peace wherever she went. She always encounters people who always ruin her day.
"Well, unfortunately, yes. That's me. So, if you don't mind, let go of the dress I'm holding, which you're holding too." With an awful smile, she said.
The woman laughed full of insult and before then looked at her. Her hands were still holding onto the dress.
"Why don't you do it instead of me? Besides," she move closer to her. "... I am more capable of paying this than you."
Annoyed, Siren forced a smile. Smile that is so sweet. But at the same time, it was her strong push while holding the dress that dripped on Meryll's body. Causing the woman to lose her balance and fall.
Satisfied with Meryll's embarrassment, she smirked.
"Yes. That dress really suits you."
While the first was shocked, Claudia couldn't believe that her lips were parted for what she had done.
"Are you crazy?!" Claudia shouted angrily, as Meryll quickly stood up and angrily rushed at her.
By that time the shop staffs had arrived, as well as Felix and Diana. They clearly see the commotion going on between Siren and the two women.
Siren couldn't help but shriek because of the tightness of the two women's grip on her hair Because of that, the anger she felt only overflowed.
These two women are really bitches.
She felt like her scalp was burning when finally, those people who arrived separated them.
Felix immediately stepped between them and looked around at the two of them.
"What's going on with you two Why are you fighting?" Felix asked both of them.
" I'm sorry, Mr. Wines. But she was the first to cause trouble!" Meryll's defense while pointing at her.
Felix looked in her direction and with questioning eyes, he stared at her.
"Wow, so I'm the one to blame now? Which of the two of us was the first to insult and the first to rush?" Raised an eyebrow, Siren said as she looked into Meryll's face.
"Insult? How am I insulting you? Didn't I just tell the truth?" Meryll shrugged to get out from the staff's grip.
Siren rolled her eyes. She already knew she wasn’t going to win this conversation. She shrugged and then turned her back away from them.
"Siren!" Felix called her, but she didn't give a damn. She just want to get out from there.
"I think there is a misunderstanding here. Her name is not Siren. She's Reena." Claudia whispered in conversation.
With a wrinkled forehead, Felix turned to her. "What did you say? Don't you know who that Woman is?"
Claudia and Meryll looked at each other, wanting to make fun of the man. Maybe it was him who didn’t know the woman he was defending.
When Siren got out of the shop. She hurried to the parking lot where her car was parked. Diana chased after her quickly, but before she could even touch the car door, someone suddenly pulled her.
She quickly turned to the man holding her arm. She felt a variety of emotions as she stared into the man's eyes.
"Reena..." It seemed like a mere whisper as he utter her name.
"Young Lady." Diana called her name. Taking her back to her senses.
"Can we talk?" Conrad asked without blinking, as he still didn't let go of her arm. She turned to his hand that was still holding her.
She immediately remembered that Meryll was inside the shop. She knew that Meryll would only cause more scandal when she saw that Conrad and she were talking.
Without having time to think of it, she nodded. He immediately pulled her to his car and she just drifted away. She turned to Diana's direction for a moment to nod. Indicating that everything is alright. Diana did nothing but to follow them with her eyes.
Conrad helps her get in the car before he moves to the other side and gets into the driver's seat.
He quickly started the car’s engine and drove away from that place.
Siren quietly turned her gaze to the scenes outside the window as Conrad just continued to drive.
They were both silent and no one seemed to want to speak to either of them.
Just a few minutes later, the man's cellphone suddenly rang.
He immediately took it out from the pocket of his slacks.
Based on the tone of their conversation, with the person on the other line, Siren predicts that he is talking to her recent enemy, Meryll.
"Have lunch with me." He said after he hunged the phone up. It's more of an order instead of a request.
"I don't think you should have lied to her." Instead, she replied.
"I don't think she would understand if I tell her the truth."
There seemed to be a twinge in her heart because of what he said. Yet she simply did not dare to speak anything.
They let the silence enveloped them once again for the next couple of minutes. Until Conrad stopped his car in the parking lot of a restaurant. Siren thinks that the place seems a little far from the city.
Conrad unbuckled his seat belt before getting out. He moved to the other side and open the car door for her.
She felt strange in the man's actions. It was not that long she has been avoiding him because of what happened to them. She had long forced herself to get used without him around her.
And only God knows how hard it has been for her each day that she tries to forget him.
She didn't want to but now, she realizes that Todd has made a huge thing to her moving on journey with everything that happened to them. Although some sad things happened while she was in the process but it still helped her.
She could feel that she's healing inside. There's no longer any anger or heartache inside her as she looks at him.
Conrad held her hand and lead their way as they entered the restaurant.
The place was not that crowded so he had chose the perfect place so that they could talk properly.
The waiter immediately approached them. When the order was obtained, it left immediately.
"How are you?" Conrad asked.
Siren averted her eyes from him before answering. But she could feels that he didn't take his eyes off her.
"I don't think it's just because you want to asked me how am I that's why we're here? Better say what you want to say now." She said without looking at him.
She felt she could not bear to be with him in that place. It seems like it was suffocating her.
"The truth is that, I wanted to apologize to you for what happened. I know what I did was wrong. I shouldn't have told you those things." He says. He let out a deep sigh before speaking again. "Actually, I had planned to apologize to you that day, but when I get home, you're gone. I want to look for you but I just don't know where to start."
Siren remained not looking at the man. She tried so hard to control herself not look at him.
In her heart, she felt the fear that the moment she stared into his eyes, she would see the sincerity there. And what's worse, she might fall with him again. Download Novelah App
