Chapter 66 CONNECT

‘My wife is going to give birth that day. The baby she will give birth to is a pre-mature baby so she has to be taken to a bigger hospital. We were on the road when we suddenly heard a series of gunshots so in fear I stopped my pick-up truck on the curve and thinking about turning back. But I saw that Margarita was bleeding. I was afraid that something worse would happen to my wife and my son so I carefully thinking what to do first. When I was sure the gunshots were gone, I went back.
A few meters away on the curve, I saw a car. Black and looks expensive. But the windshields are all destroyed. I did not catch up with the culprits, but I saw a woman lying on the ground. A few meters from the car. Fearing that we will get into trouble, I planned to leave the woman alone. But I felt sorry for her. I thought we would go to the hospital too, so I decided to go back and take her with us to the hospital. ' Peter narrate the whole thing.
'When we got to the hospital, I first took my wife to the doctor and then I came to her back in the car. There I saw that the woman was also bleeding so I hurried to take her to the doctor as well. '
'Bleeding?' With a frown, asked the woman.
'Yes. She is bleeding. I don't know what happened because I put my wife and child first. '
'Why didn't you take it to report to the police?' Even Jeff.
‘I was afraid to interfere and get involved. Also, I don't know what caused the ambush on them. ' Peter replied. ‘And even if I wanted to help her then, I had no ability. I thought it was enough that I took her to the hospital for help. '
'How can we be sure that you are telling the truth?' The woman asked. 'Many have come forward and told us different stories, but in the end, they just made it up to get money.'
Peter's muscles trembled. He's already expecting those questions, but it feels different when he faces them. They are quite intimidating and they know they are not merely people in society.
'I have proof that I am telling the truth.' He snatched from the pocket of his old jacket what he said was proof.
He laid it on the table, opposite the woman.
'I know she has that necklace because my wife doesn't have that kind of jewelry. I got that in my car when we got home after my wife gave birth. '
He could clearly see the sudden change in the woman's expression. His hand also trembled when he picked up the necklace.
'Madam?' The man turned to the woman beside him.
'It's Siren's l.' The woman said with a cracked voice. She was moved to tears by various emotions.

Finally. A few years later, they also had the hope that Siren was still alive.
But not Jeff. Even though he already knew that there was a possibility that Siren was still alive, he still couldn’t help but feel a little angry and questions in his mind. If she was still alive, why didn't she come back? Why was she able to hide for four years? Why she didn't thought of the justice that deserved to be obtained in Diana’s death? What really happened?
Questions he knew only Siren could answer.

Madison never went home to the villa. At the University, she changed her clothes and decided to leave the car there.
According to Conrad he was just in a nearby cafeteria waiting.
When she arrived at the said place, she immediately saw the man. He was facing on the other side in his direction and his attention was focused on the cellphone.
In those moments, Madison could not understand herself. She suddenly felt a strange nervousness and inexplicable excitement just seeing the man.
She knew it was a kind of attraction, but she couldn't admit to herself that she really felt that way about the man. Add to that, the bad start it all started with them.
Yet she could not restrain himself from feeling that way.
She dropped the bag on the empty seat to the man's surprise. He immediately looked up.
"You just came?" She asked. There was not a trace of any expression in his voice.
"Of course not." He shook his head. "Maybe twenty minutes or so."
"Let's order a snack first. I didn't eat lunch." She says.
"Sure. Take whatever you want. I'm in charge. "
"No thanks." She says. "I can pay for my food. I'm not in a bankruptcy yet so I still have money to pay for what I eat."
"I insist. I told you I will take charge in everything while we're together. Besides, it's not good to see if I'll let the woman pay for her food if the man initiates the-"
"It's not a date so it's okay. What you're saying is just for those who are dating." She cut him off from anything he would say.
"But I insist. Really." Man's insistence.
Madison thought for a moment. From Conrad's point of view, he doesn't seem like he's really going to deter her.
"Fine." She just said.
The man just smiled because of her consent. He immediately motioned to the waitress and the lady approached immediately.
He glanced at the menu the waitress provided. They flip every pages several times and there were so many choices they could choose from.
"What's your best seller here?" Conrad asked the waitress. Madison's attention was focused on the woman's answer even though she wasn't looking in its direction.
"Our strawberry milk smoothie is a best seller here, as well as strawberry cheesecake."
'I want strawberry cake ...'
Madison frowned because she seemed to hear herself saying that. It seemed familiar to her but she didn’t remember exactly.
But it's impossible. She doesn’t remember herself eating any strawberry flavored foods. She's not allergic to the said fruit but she doesn't like the taste of it. Well, not just strawberry but she really don't like sweet and sour taste in general.
"What do you think?" Conrad looked at her.
"I don't like strawberry flavored food." Her answer was simple.
Only an 'oh' was the man's reaction.
After a while, she was also able to choose the food that would suit her taste. When the waitress got their order, they just quietly waited for it. But Conrad couldn't seem to endure the silence. He again, spoke.
"Are you vegan?" He asked her.
"No." She replied. She got stunned for a moment.
That question.
That question was familiar to her. Conrad seems to asked her that question before.
"Let me guess, vegan pizza is your favorite even if you're not vegan?"
She kept looking ahead. Strange but it seems to have happened before. He seemed very familiar with the rumors of the questions.
"Is that really a guess?" She returned when she recovered.
"Well, not really. I met someone who likes vegan pizza but she's not vegan." His answer with a shrug.
"Who?"
"Someone from the past."
"Your ex?"
"No. But it looks like that too."
Madison leaned back in the chair.
"What do you mean?" She asked again.
Conrad smiled at the curiosity he saw in her.
"You're gossiping." Said the man.
"No." She said. "You are the first one talking about it there."
"Then why do you want to know who?"
She averted her gaze. Why?
"Is it bad to ask?"
"Of course not. I just don't expect you to be interested in what I'm saying. It's not in your character." He also leaned back in the chair.
He stared at the man for not having anything to say. The truth is she suddenly became interested in listening to whatever he had to say. Especially about the person he suddenly remembered because of her.
