Chapter 68 Memories

Two, three, four to the fifth day. They have toured almost all the tourist spots in Zagreb, the country's capital.
They have almost no idea where to go next. Every restaurant, street foods and other pastry shops have been visited and tried by them too.
"Where do you want to go now?" Conrad asked her as he drove the car.
"I can't think of anything else. I think we've been to every places we can go to." She replied.
"Is that all?" He asked with a frown.
"Hmm."
"How about we get on the yacht? Sailing at sea, then." He suggested.
"Yacht?" She asked.
"Are you in?" The excitement was painted on his face.
"Sure. I think it's better to watch the sunset when you're on a yacht. It's a different feeling when you're in the water than on the ground when you're watching the sunset." Smiling, she said.
Her eyes were focused ahead so she didn't notice the moment Conrad's gaze turned to her. The man smiled in amazement at what she said. However, he never spoke again.

Felix stopped walking when he overheard Sylvia and Greg talking. They were on the veranda and seemed to be talking seriously.
"In that case, it means that there is a good chance that our daughter is still alive."
Felix frowned at what Greg had said.
"By the time the results of Jeff's investigation come out, we'll know the truth. I hope Siren is still alive. I know, I could feel that she's alive. And she'll be back soon." Sylvia replied.
Felix was stunned by what he heard. His fist also clenched in inexplicable emotion.
Is Siren still alive? How? When else did they find out? Who provided that information? Questions he did not know how to answer. But he thought for a moment. If Siren is really still alive, why did it take several years for her to disappear and no one can tell where she's at?
If he were to be asked, he would have preferred not to have Siren back. It would have been even more favorable if she had died in the ambush then. He knows that if Siren is around, his mother will have no silence. She will always worry about their future.
No. He won't allowed that to happen. Siren can't come back. They had a lot of hardship already, and he knew when the Mendezes 'sole heiress returned, that only meant they had no hope of getting Greg's wealth.
No. He will not allow it.

Holding two canned soft drinks, Conrad climbed onto the upper deck of the yacht where Madison was sitting facing the sea.
Her hair blows in the wind as she seems to enjoy gazing at the seemingly endless ocean.
"Here." He said. The woman turned to him as he e handed her one of the canned drinks he was holding.
She stood up and then she opened the can he was holding and then drank its contents.
"Aren't you going to take a selfie?" She e asked him. "It's a pity if this moment passes without you even having a souvenir."
"Yeah you're right." Conrad smiled before snatching the cellphone out of his pocket. "Thanks for the idea."
Madison just smiled as her gaze followed the man. For the first time she had the opportunity to observe his entirety.
Curly hair, perfectly trimmed beard, thick eyebrows and puffy eyes. The nose is pointed but not too overwhelming. Thin pinkish lips that is enticing her when he's smiling. His even teeth are also perfect.
He was tall, and even though he was dressed, she knew that his body was well built. Unlike any other men, Conrad doesn't seem to be a guy who soaks in the gym or spends a lot of time on body grooming. But she knows that he will be left behind those men who love to beautify their body built.
His hands were off-clean and looks like a woman's hand.
She can't keep herself from looking at it. That even surpassed her hand in smoothness and beauty. Obviously, he doesn't do any heavy work.
She then thought that maybe that was too soft. How would it feel to touch her skin?
"Don't tell me you're fantasizing about me?" It was his voice that brought her back to consciousness.
She shook her head and then smiled to cover up the embarrassment at her being caught.
"Do you think so?" She grinned as she looked back at him.
"What else will I be thinking? I caught you staring at me, so what should I call it?"
"Can't I accidentally stare at you while thinking of something else?" She part the hair that covered her face as the wind blows.
"Hmm ..." He shrugged his shoulders because of what she said.
" You're so inclined to assume. You should stop that manner 'cause it's not good." She said before turning her gaze away from him.
She felt his footsteps approaching. Until it stopped right behind her.
"You know, it's okay with me if you stare at me from time to time. Nobody would gets angry." He said to her, making her raised an eyebrow.
"Mr. Assuming, please don't make me run with your style. That won't work for me." She said without looking back. She knew he was just so close to her that she didn't want to make a mistake.
"Style? What style?" He asked as if acting like an innocent.
She smirked but didn't bother to say anything. She also doesn't make any move because she knew he was still standing behind her.
They remained in that position until he heard her deep breathing.
"It's almost sunset. A few minutes from now the sun will set completely." He says.
When she felt him move away from his previous position, she only breathed a sigh of relief. Yet the rapid throbbing of her chest still did not go away.
She knew in her heart that she shouldn't feel that way but it seemed silly that it only got worse in the long run.
"Come here, it's better to watch the sunset while sitting here." Conrad tapped the adjacent space of his seat.
Silently, she approached him and sat down next to him.
It is true. It was very nice to watch the sunset in such a place.
"It's nice ..." She said smiling as she look around the orange surroundings.
"Yes." Conrad said looking back at her.
He stared at her for a moment and then with a smile turned back to what they were looking at.
"Madison?"
"Hmm?"
"I'm leaving."
