"Make it quick, Shaman, if you want to keep your head. What is taking so long? I am running out of time, can't you see? They might be on us, any moment. The awakening must happen before that. " The Shaman was shaking in fear as he saw how the wolf queen was mishandling the, tattered body of Ruby who was in her mer-witch avatar. "I hope that Fox is able to do his part back there. All useless morons I kept as pets. None of you are worth even the base pay scale. " The Wolf queen murmured as the rogue mer-witch kept watching Ruby's woe with pleasure and smiling to her heart's content. The Shaman had initially agreed to aid the rogues in the lure for short cut money and early retirement. But he was no fool. He could see he was up against something he had no knowledge of but even with his low spiritual power he could tell the sinister forces that drew near. "Well, well, well... if this isn't sweet revenge, then what is? " The rogue mer-witch stroked Ruby down from head to her, barely glowing scales. Her hands involuntarily went around her abdomen, even though she had no strength to open her eyes. " Please no. Not my child. " She murmured. " It's your grandchild. Your own blood..." But the Wolf Queen stabbed her with the back of the Spirit Staff, causing her to immediately lean forward and fall crashing on her side. " That makes it a hundred times more unbearable, you, evil little thing. We did hear tales of how sirens called men away from the shore to their doom, but why me? Why did you and your sister find my husband and my son? Couldn't you leave us alone? " Something unexpected happened. Ruby suddenly started smirking and her smirk turned into a little scoff. The place they were in was an underwater cave. the ground was flooded but there were also some elevated spaces with plenty of air pockets. Ruby was of royal descent after all. Her senses underwater, was unparalleled just like Crystal, Mia or Jade. She softly started whistling and this made both the rogue mer-witch and the wolf queen, panic. " What is it b*tch! " The mer-witch pulled her hair back with a sharp pull. It almost made her neck dislocate but Ruby didn't even bother to look at her. Her eyes flipped open and she saw the Wolf Queen straight into the eye. " He is coming, mother-in-law. He is coming for his child and me. He doesn't seem to be very pleased. You better make up a good excuse. " And after that she fell on her back unconscious. The wolf queen looked at the mer-witch, " They are here already? How far are they? Can't you tell? " The rogue mer-witch seemed lost. She knew she had a limited sensory range. " Close... " She stuttered , " but not very close... " she said. The mer-witch turned back to the shaman. " How much longer? " She yelled. " We don't have any time.... " And with that she climbed the small pulpit and slit her hand, and then decorated the small jem at the centre with her blood. She waited for a few moments, waiting for something to happen. When it didn't, she looked at the shaman, apparently lost, and asked, " Why isn't it working? " " It's... It's not enough... " The shaman timidly replied, half looking at her. " What do you mean? " " It requires a Blood Sacrifice from a servant. Not just a few drops of blood. A sacrifice in blood... life... ".The Wolf queen, didn't need to be told any further. She pounced on the rogue mer-witch, even before she could understand what was going on. " It's going to be an honor for you, little useless fish. You will be reborn with the majestic king. " And before she could do anything, the Wolf Queen pinned her down on the pulpit with the Spirit Conjuring Staff from the Wolf Kingdom. A shock wave sent them all reeling. " Now shaman. Keep reading. It's time for the seal to break. It will be any moment. " And he obediently began reading as he clung onto one of the boulders. The entire place shook with tremors as the blood from the slain Mer-witch, dripped down the hole below the ocean floor, that they had dug out. The Wolves and Foxes were close. They were close enough for the Wolf queen to get a whiff. But she couldn't care less. The guttural roars, emanating from the ground was preof enough that the awakening of their master, their king, their Messiah, was successful. " He is here. He is here. Rise. Rise my Lord and avenge all those that locked you up for so long. Rise and fill me with your everlasting spirit energy. Rise from your eternal slumber. Rise, Serpent King. " So , the wolf queen did know the nature of the creature she was heralding. But she didn't expect what was about to happen. She was least of the worries of the Great Serpent King. He was exhausted, flabbergasted and very , very confused at the moment. Not to mention the fact that he was unbearably angry at the horrendous fact that he was being summoned, awakened, despite his desires, rendering all his sacrifices, the reason he had given up his life, his entity, completely useless. Because, with his rise, the seal he had created over his biological father, would also be broken. The villain would be out of the box. His sacrifice, his mother's sacrifice, the sacrifice of his entire clan would go to waste. He was loosing his mind as he was slowly waking up from the deep, dark slumber. And with a sudden gust of over flowing anger, he let out himself. For centuries, he had concealed his venom, deep inside his bossom, under his breast. But it all fell down. He could no longer control what was spewing. The boiling anger in him, erupted all around as the most deadliest of poison, all across the ocean.
