Chapter 26 My inmate's Fiance' is my ex-boyfriend

Chapter 26
Kelly's chest tightened and it was as if a sharp object had pierced her heart because Stephen's screams at her always echoed in her ear.
"Don't call me again and don't ruin my good relationship with Lyca!"
"Don't mess with our lives anymore!" said Stephen boldly.
Stephen put down his cellphone and suddenly cut Kelly's call.
Kelly's heart was broken by the hurtful words she heard from Stephen.
"Stephen, I thought I was important to you and I was the only one who could make you happy but why did you leave me!" She exclaimed in annoyance.
Kelly buried her face in the pillow and sobbed profusely. She felt as if a sharp knife had pierced her heart.
She admits to herself that little by little she has fallen in love with Stephen because of his tender care for her.
The pain Kelly had suffered from her ex-boyfriend had recurred.
"I don't want to love anymore!" she wailed.
"Why is my life like this! Why do the people I love always fool me!" Kelly cried.
She got up and hugged the pillow and until it was wet with her tears.
"What am I going to do now? How am I going to raise my future child?" Kelly continued to cry as she caressed her belly.
"Son, be strong, I will make a way because we have to fight all these trials," Kelly's voice calmed as she stared at her stomach.
Kelly's stomach is about four months old and it's slowly getting bigger.
"Son, you're my only strength right now, help me to be strong," Kelly's tears continued to drip.
Kelly thought of calling Jhanice again because she was the only one she could hold on to because of her stressful situation.
"I will fight for my future child."
Though Kelly's fingers trembled, she dialed Jhanice's number again.
No one answered Kelly's first call to Jhanice so she tried to call her again.
Kelly waited four rings before Jhanice answered her.
"Hello! Why?" Jhanice's tone seemed impatient.
"Jhanice, you're the only one who can help me, please have mercy on me," Kelly said in a pitiful voice.
"Why? What happened to you?" Jhanice asked in astonishment.
“Stephen left me because he went back to Lyca and I have nowhere else to go," she said without hesitation.
"What? The two of them got back together? Who is Lyca?" she asked angrily.
Jhanice wants Kelly and Stephen to get married so that nothing will be an obstacle to her marrying Adrian.
"She's Stephen's ex -girlfriend," she replied as she moaned.
Jhanice hesitates to help but she needs to monitor Kelly so that she can't get close to Adrian, and so that she can fulfill her evil plan.
"There is a small room for rent near my office and also near the hospital so that your pregnancy can also be monitored and I think it would be better if you live there first," Jhanice suggested.
"Jhanice, I don't have the money to pay the rent," she sadly admitted.
"I need a cleaner in my office so I think you can work there because the work isn't too heavy and your belly isn't very obvious yet."
"Thank you so much for helping me," she babbled.
"I'll get you and I'll send staff there to help you move to your new home."
Meanwhile, Stephen was very saddened by the hurtful words he said to Kelly. It was against his will to hurt Kelly's feelings because he loved her so much but he was afraid of Lyca's parents' threat against Kelly and he didn't want anything bad to happen to the woman he loved.
"Kelly, forgive me for the bad words I uttered," he burst into tears as he apologized.
"I became a coward because I love you so much, I have to do this to protect you against the people who oppress you."
"I love you so much and I don't want anything bad to happen to you," Stephen said to himself as he sighed.
“I have nothing against Lyca’s powerful family, I know they have a lot of well -known high ranking officials and they can change the wrong to make it right,” he exhaled.
Kelly had arrived at her newly rented room and she immediately saw Jhanice patiently waiting for her.
"Why is your head wrapped in black cloth?" she wondered.
“Something bad happened to me the night Stephen left me, his friends bullied me and cut my hair,” Kelly let out a tear.
Kelly removed the cover of her head and Jhanice was surprised at what she saw because her hair was frizzy and looked like it had been eaten by a rat.
Jhanice was secretly delighted.
She was happy with what had happened to Kelly and tickled her heart with joy because of what she had witnessed.
"How can you work with me if that's how you look!" she shook her head.
"Jhanice, please help me I really need a job now to pay my rent here," she begged Jhanice.
In Jhanice's mind she was glad because Kelly's beauty had diminished which eased her mood.
She really cared about Kelly back then but because of Adrian, her treatment of her changed.
From the moment she found out that Kelly was the one Adrian used to love, she hated her.
"Don't worry I'll take care of that."
"Jhanice, thank you very much. I will be very grateful to you."
Kelly knelt down in front of Jhanice as an expression of her gratitude.
Jhanice felt sorry for Kelly but she had to be stubborn and forget their friendship so that Kelly wouldn't just take away the man she loved.
"Don't kneel in front of me, just promise to take care of what's in your womb and avoid being sad because that is detrimental to the health of the offspring," she advised.
"I'll take care of him because he's the only treasure I have," Kelly caressed her stomach.
"Good, I'm leaving and tomorrow you can start cleaning my office," she smiled.
Jhanice left.
Kelly cleaned her new room, it was small but had its own kitchen and bathroom and most of all the surroundings were clean.
Just half an hour later there was a knock on Kelly's door, she quickly stood up and opened the door.
"Good morning maam," the smiling young lady greeted her.
She seemed to be in her twenties and holding a small box.
"Hello, why? What do you need?" Kelly asked as she smiled back at the girl.
"Ma'am Jhanice is giving it to you," the girl said respectfully as she handed the box to Kelly.
"Thank you so much," Kelly exclaimed as she took the box to the girl.
After Kelly got the box, the girl left.
Moments later, two men arrived with a refrigerator.
"Ma'am Kelly, this is for you," said the man. They helped lift the refrigerator and put it inside the room.
"Whose refrigerator is that?"
"It came from Ma'am Jhanice's office and she moved it here," the man replied.
Kelly nodded and she was happy.
After the men put down the refrigerator they left as well.
Kelly locked the door and immediately opened the box. She was amazed to see the blonde wig and two sets of royal blue uniforms.
“It’s okay even if the wig is just short at least it will cover my bald hair,” she said as she placed the wig on her head.
She looked at herself in the mirror and squinted.
She couldn't help but think of Stephen but she had to train herself that the man who cared and loved her was gone.
She went to bed early because she was excited about her first job.
Kelly woke up early and she prepared breakfast. She ate garlic rice with fried eggs and a glass of milk.
She took off her royal blue uniform and put on a bit of lipstick while looking herself in the mirror.
She put on her blonde wig and she was amused with her new look. She just smiled and hurried out of the room.
Jhanice's office is nearby and it is only a five minute walk to get there.
As she got there the office was still closed, so she sat down first and waited for Jhanice.
After waiting for ten minutes, she saw Jhanice's maroon car so she quickly stood up to greet Jhanice.
"Jhanice, good morning," Kelly greeted her cheerfully.
She was amazed at Kelly's new look because she looked even more beautiful with her short wig and her smooth skin shone even more with her royal blue uniform.
Jhanice carries a neatly wrapped gift and obvious gift for a most lavish birthday.
"I'll take it," Kelly offered as she picked up the gift box.
"Okay, just put that on the table because I'll bring it for my boyfriend's birthday," Jhanice replied excitedly.
Kelly picked up the box as she followed behind Jhanice and waited for the office to open.
"Take care of that," Jhanice said as she opened the door.
When the door opened Kelly carefully laid the gift on the table.
"Clean my whole office and put on disinfectant," Jhanice ordered.
"Okay," Kelly said politely.
"I'm leaving later and I'm not here in the office all day so after you clean up you can go home," she informed Kelly.
“On the ground floor of that high -rise building my boyfriend’s birthday will be held,” Jhanice added as she pointed to the tallest building opposite her office.
Kelly suddenly stopped wiping the table because she remembered her ex-boyfriend's birthday.
"June ten is also Adrian's birthday," she said in a muted tone.
Jhanice noticed Kelly's sudden silence.
"Why are you suddenly silent there?" she asked with doubt.
“I just remember one of the most important things in my life,” Kelly said in a sad voice.
"Whatever it is or whoever he is, don't even think about it."
"I'll just leave the office key here because I'm going to a beauty salon and I'm going to meet my famous gown designer."
Jhanice hurried out and got into her car right away.
It took Kelly three hours inside the office because she cleaned it thoroughly. As she put alcohol on one of the chairs she noticed that Jhanice had left her gift. She knew it was important to Jhanice so she decided to deliver it to Jhanice and she would just walk because the birthday venue was nearby.
The guard saw that she was carrying a gift, so the guard did not hesitate to let her in.
In the distance, she immediately saw the venue of the birthday party so she accelerated her step to find Jhanice immediately.
She was surprised to see Doña Helena inside so she immediately hid on the side.
Doña Helena is obviously happy and sophisticated in her peach gown.
"Why is Doña Helena here? Does she know Jhanice? Can they be friends?" Kelly asked herself in astonishment.
Doña Helena stood up so she hid well because she was afraid Doña would see her.
Doña Helena picked up the microphone and spoke happily in front of many guests.
"I am so thankful to everyone who attended our gathering, I just wanted to wish my two sons a Happy 26th Birthday!"
Kelly was nervous when she heard that Doña Helena had two sons because she thought Adrian was her only child.
"My twins inspired me to work even harder in life, they are my only wealth."
Kelly's heartbeat got stronger when she found out that Doña Helena had twins.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Adrian and Archie!"
The two men stood up both wearing red T-shirts and when they faced the guests, Kelly was surprised because Adrian did have twins. The other one was a bit fat and had a tattoo on his left arm and he knew that Adrian didn't have a tattoo because since then he didn't want to get a tattoo.
"It was Archie who rejected me then and not Adrian," she whispered.
"Babe, I need to talk to you!" she shouted in her mind.
"Thank you so much to everyone who took part in our birthday today, we are so grateful for the time you are spending with us," Adrian happily thanked the guests.
The guests applauded and the others left.
She saw Doña Helena and Archie leave as well. Adrian was left sitting and seemed to be waiting for something. Doña Helena was going in her direction so she hid in a corner.
As she glanced at Adrian again, he was also leaving in the other direction so she immediately chased after him.
"He needs to see me," Kelly said as her chest throbbed.
"Babe! babe! Do you still know me? I'm Kelly!" she yelped loudly at Adrian as she held the gift.
Adrian stopped and turned to the source of the voice.
"Kelly!" he was amazed.
