Chapter 37 "Alright, one more! Kelly shook her head and her whole body went limp. "I can't take it anymore," she said in a low voice and suddenly lost consciousness. The doctors panicked and immediately took her to the nearest hospital. Jhanice is very happy because her dream of marrying her beloved, Adrian will finally come true. She is busy inviting her relatives and friends. She heard a knock at her library so she immediately opened the door. "Jhanice, good day!" Jhanice almost dropped the invitation card she was holding when she saw Doña Helena standing at the door. "Mommy! Why didn't you notify me that you were coming today?" Jhanice hugged Doña Helena. "I personally came here to deliver this to you," said Doña Helena in a cheerful voice. She handed Jhanice a small jewelry box. Jhanice was excited to see the contents of the jewelry box so she immediately opened it, a heart pendant appeared in Jhanice's eyes. "It was a gift from Hilton's late parents at our wedding," she confessed. Hilton Langford is the late father of Adrian and Archie. Doña Helena's twins were only one year old when her husband had a heart attack. "It's strangely beautiful! It's glowing!" "Take care of that, because I chose you for Adrian." "Mommy, thank you very much for choosing me, expect me to love Adrian more than my life." Jhanice hugged Doña Helena again and her eyes filled with tears. "By the way, Mr. C and Stephen are coming here in the Philippines next week," she said happily to Jhanice. Jhanice frowned when she heard the names mentioned by Doña Helena. She didn't want to see Stephen on her wedding day and she didn't even know the one mentioned by Doña Helena, Mr.C. "Mr. C is the stepfather of Adrian and Archie. He is an American and the CEO of the K and C company." Jhanice bit her lip, she thought Doña Helena was the sole owner of the company. "Mr.C wants to witness the marriage of you and Adrian so he has the courage to come here to the Philippines," she added. "Mom, it's a pleasure to meet Mr. C," Jhanice smiled as she held the necklace that Doña Helena gave her. "I won't be long because I still have a lot to take care of," Doña Helena hurriedly left. She is excited about the return of Mr. C in the Philippines but many things are bothering her. Suddenly her cellphone rang. Her heart overflowed with happiness when she saw the name of the person who called her so she quickly answered it. "Sweetheart, I miss you," Doña Helena answered in her soft voice. "I'm excited to go there, because I haven't been back in years since I fell into a coma," Mr. C replied in his raspy voice. "I will prepare everything you need here and Stephen will take care of all the documents you need to come here." Doña Helena's excitement is indescribable. "By the way, how is the one I asked you to take care of? Have you found her yet?" asked Mr. C. He was nervous and couldn't hide the worry in his voice. "Sweetheart, I don't want to tell you this but you have the right to know the truth," Doña Helena sobbed. "Why? Did something bad happen to her?" Mr. C asked nervously. "The person you are looking for has been dead for a long time and according to the investigator, her mother remarried and she allegedly did not take good care of her child so she neglected her and died of illness," said Doña Helena. Mr. C felt sad because he didn't even do anything to save his loved one. "I don't believe that she is gone, I have a strong hunch that she is still alive," Mr. C groaned. Doña Helena seemed nervous but she didn't show it to Mr. C. "I have strong evidence because I excavated her grave and took hair from her to match the DNA sample of the two of you," Doña Helena reasoned. Mr. C's chest tightened even more because he still hopes that he will see his daughter. "I want to see the DNA result, until I can't prove it I'm still hoping," he said sadly. "To reassure you, I will show you all the evidence that I have gathered so that you will not feel guilty," Doña Helena sympathized with Mr. C. Mr. C's heart almost broke in great remorse because he did nothing to save his only child. "Sweetheart, I'll just call you again," said Mr. C in his mournful voice. Mr. C was depressed, he can't seem to forgive himself. "My child, forgive me if I didn't take care of you and protect you!" screamed Mr. C in his great sorrow. His heart grieved. His former enthusiasm was replaced by depression and sadness. "I wish I could have hugged you!" he moaned. "Everything I worked hard for was just for you! I fought to live and I overcame all the trials because of the hope of seeing you!" he shouted. His heart is full of grief but he still needs to be strong for his second family. Meanwhile, Kelly realized that she was already in the hospital ward. "Where is my son?" Kelly yelled as she swayed to her side. She didn't see a baby so she got nervous. "Where is my baby?" she shouted again. The nurse approached her. "Miss Kelly, I'm sorry but you need to know that your baby is gone," the nurse confessed. "What? I didn't believe it until I saw his body!" her tears flowed. "Your baby was buried right away." The nurse was about to confess something to Kelly but a doctor came. "Doc, where's my baby!" Kelly asked nervously. "Your baby died because his heart beat was weak," the doctor informed Kelly. The doctor did not face her and just took her body temperature. "I don't believe it because I know my baby is alive!" Kelly insisted. "If your baby is alive today, I know you won't be able to take care of him," the doctor said frankly. "Get me out of here! I need to see my baby!" Kelly grabbed the dextrose in her hands and pulled it out. "Calm down!" the doctor snorted at her. "Give me back my baby! Don't hide him from me!" Kelly was almost hoarse from screaming but the nurses and doctors didn't seem to care about her. "You will pay for this! I will sue you all!" Kelly yelled angrily.
