Chapter 40 "I can't promise but I'll do everything to get you out of here." Stephen's heart seemed to be pinched by what happened to Kelly. "Please, I need to get out of here as soon as possible," Kelly's tone pleaded. "I'll see what I can do," Stephen's tears flowed. He loves Kelly and it hurts him so much that Kelly decides to fight for his love with Adrian. Kelly stood up and slapped Stephen's arm. "Have mercy! Please do everything to get me out of here!" Kelly's cheeks flushed as her tears flowed. "I'm leaving because I'm going to find a good lawyer to speed up your release from here." Stephen left without even looking at Kelly because he couldn't bear to see her sobbing. Meanwhile, Janice and Doña Helena are very busy for the upcoming wedding. "I must be the most beautiful bride," Janice said with a smile as she held her expensive gown. "You two are a good match," replied Doña Helena while smiling at Janice. "We're a good match and he doesn't fit in with that trashy girl," Janice responded with a laugh. "Don't remind me of that girl because she will rot in jail," Doña Helena said. They both laughed. "I'm going back to the mansion first because I'm going to take care of Mr. C for what he's going to wear to your wedding," Doña Helena stood up and waved at Jhanice. Doña Helena saw Mr. C sipped wine while looking into the distance. "Sweetheart, why drink alcohol? It's bad for your health!" she shouted. "I can't do anything because until now I still can't accept that my daughter is dead!" "Please, drinking is not a solution, Adrian and Archie and I are still here and they consider you as a real father and family," Doña Helena rubbed Mr. C's back. "I need to see the DNA results of both of us because until now she is still alive in my heart," Mr. C sighed. "Sweetheart, I have strong evidence because the sample I gave was her hair and your hair," Doña Helena's eyes widened in anger. "I want to see the results and I want to have our DNA tested again." "Don't worry sweetie because I will show you the result," replied Doña Helena while grabbing the glass from Mr. C. "Thank you so much for understanding me," he let out a deep breath. "You are important to me so I will do everything for your happiness," Doña Helena squeezed Mr. C's hands. Doña Helena could not help herself from being annoyed. "I thought he believed everything I told him!" said Doña Helena in a muted tone. "Sweetheart, take some rest so you can prepare yourself for the upcoming wedding," Doña Helena supported Mr. C towards their room. Doña Helena waited for Mr.C to lie down in their soft bed and immediately went to their garden. "It's disappointing! Why doesn't he want to believe that his daughter is dead!" screamed Doña Helena. "Mommy, are you okay?" Archie suddenly asked behind her. "I'm disappointed in your daddy because he still doesn't want to accept that his daughter he left here in the Philippines for a long time is dead!" she exclaimed. "Mom, are you sure she's really dead?" Archie frowned. "Why? Isn't what I said unbelievable!" Doña Helena's eyes widened with rage. "Mom, I know you and I know you're hiding something," Archie said in a teasing voice. "Don't judge me Archie! You're just a wanderer and you haven't even contributed anything to our Company!" "It's nothing! Adrian is just the best in the Company for you and I'm useless!" "You know Adrian got amnesia and you were the one I expected to take his place but you're always not here!" Archie frowned. "Why is it bad to entertain myself? I'm sick of all the work!" "Everything I do is for you and Adrian!" Doña Helena's eyes were burning with anger. "Don't put too much effort because we are not the owner of the Company!" "Are you crazy! We are the only remaining family of Mr. C and we will inherit his Company!" "Mom! he still has a daughter!" Archie frowned. "His daughter is dead and there is no one to inherit his Company!" Archie shook his head. "I hope she's really dead and you're not doing anything bad to his daughter!" Doña Helena blushed in annoyance. "What are you talking about? Do you suspect me!" "I know you and I know you will do anything to take over Mr. C's Company." Doña Helena trembled with anger at Archie. "Get out of my presence! You have nothing to contribute but a headache!" Archie stared at her fiercely. "Mommy, you taught me to be like this! You taught me to be arrogant and most of all you taught me to mistreat Kelly!" Archie's forehead sweated. "I did that because I didn't want that girl to tarnish our name!" Archie wiped sweat from his forehead. "You are so heartless mom! You made me believe that she is a bad woman and that she only wants money from Adrian!" Archie shouted. "Don't invent a lie because everything I confessed to you is true!" Archie slammed his hand on the stone. "Why did you put her in jail? Didn't you feel sorry for her? She was really pregnant and Adrian was the father. Why did you torture her in jail? You are so heartless? She has your grandson in her womb! Why are you so selfish!" Archie's eyes flashed with anger. "Where did you get your courage from? Who told you that!" “Stephen confessed everything to me and I am deeply sorry for believing your lies!” "Son, don't believe him!" Doña Helena's hands trembled. "I regret why you became my mommy!" Archie took a flower vase and threw it because of his anger. "Son, everything I did was right and I have no regrets," Doña Helena slowly approached Archie. "Is it right for us to step on people's feet in order to rise in life? Is it right for us to oppress innocent people for our own interest? Is it right to be selfish to achieve a dream even if we hurt someone? Is it right to be happy even if someone else is suffering ?" Archie burst into tears of rage.
