Chapter 11.1

Megan laughed from the other line when I told her what happened last night.
I'm currently on standby since the male lead is not yet here, so I decided to call Megan. Thankfully, my manager has Megan's number or else I might really be bored waiting for that male lead, whoever he is.
“Did he really do that? A talisman? Where did he even get that? He really must be shaken by that crazy revelation.” She calms down, but I know that she's just holding her laugh back.
“Yeah. It's good that he didn't let me see his face this morning or else I might have punched him hard. Grr, he's a bully.”
“Pfft. Calm your ass down, Cal. Watch out for wrinkles. You'll grow old right before you go back to your body. So, you're not sleeping on the same bed?”
“Why would we?! We're living under the same roof, but we're not sleeping on the same room, on the same bed! There's no way we'll do that!”
She laughed. “If I know, you like to touch and kiss him. You're just being in denial! You like him, Calais! Come on, say it!” she teased me.
“You are crazy!” Okay, I said that he's my type. Who wouldn't like his gorgeous face? But knowing what kind of family he has, no way. I don't like in-laws that are only after wealth. They may kill me twice just for money.
Someone tapped my shoulder from the back. I turned my head to see who. It's my manager—Leila.
“Your male lead's here,” she mouthed.
“Oh. Hey, Megs. I gotta go. I'll go meet my partner. One more thing, I don't like him. You heard that?”
“Okay, okay. If you say so. And oh! Pretend like a real Zainea, Cal. Have a longer patient. That's how she is. Do go berserk although someone's treating you bad. Just enjoy the work, girl! Bye!”
She ended the call.
Psh.
She is guarding my body. She even moved her office in her house just to look after me. So kind if her. I wish I also have a friend like Megan. She's a psychologist, by the way.
“Your first shooting will be at 9:30. Have you read your lines? Is that okay? Tell me if you want some changes, we'll discuss it with the director.” Leila asked while we're walking towards the meeting room to meet the others.
“Yeah, no worries. I'm fine with that.”
“Good to hear. Notify me if you ever meet any difficulties.”
Leila is a great manager, that's what Megan said. So, I will have no worries.
“As long as there's no involvement of numbers, I won't have any problem.” I smiled at her.
Everyone in this industry knows that Zainea has a phobia on numbers, so they're not giving her a project that concerns numbers.
She opened the door, revealing the whole cast of the drama.
I wear a smile and confidently sit.
We discussed things about the drama after we formally introduced ourselves with each other. The male lead is handsome, I must say. The supporting actress, the one who'll act as a mistress, is pretty too, but she has this attitude that I hate—guileful.
She smiles a lot, but she can't hide that bitchy attitude from me. I can sense no genuineness in her. When I introduced myself as the female lead, I caught her rolling her eyes up after she smiled and clapped. Full of plasticity.
“Since everything is settled, let's now proceed to the site. Those who are going to have their first shoot, prepare yourselves. Those who aren't, you may excuse yourself, but be sure to come on time during your schedule” the director said.
I quietly stood up and went outside to find my manager.
“Zainea, right?” The male lead—Trevor Vierro—walked beside me.
“I never knew you are this quiet. Is the rumor true? That you're not talking to the other casts unless it's important?”
“You guess.” Zainea maybe prefers to be alone than with fake people, that's why.
“I don't believe it. You're just being picky to people. By the way, I've seen all the series you starred, and I was amazed by your skills. You're so awesome. I'm looking forward working with you. I hope you can guide me throughout the drama.”
“For a man, I never knew you are that talkative, Mister Trevor Vierro.”
He chuckled. “Maybe I'm not a man. Who knows?”
I stopped and shockingly looked at him.
“No. No. You're a man. Geez, I'm sure of that.”
I left him, but he catches up.
“How are you so sure?”
“Secret. Why don't you go and have a talk with Angel? She has the same vibes as you, I guess. You two can get along well.”
Angel Chua is the second female lead. The supporting actress I'm talking about. The one who has an overflowing plasticity.
“I'll tell you a secret. I don't like her,” he whispered.
“Why?” Perhaps, I'm not the only one who hates her.
“She's a plastic, in and out.”
I covered my mouth in surprise. Thank goodness, no one's around. No one heard his words, just us.
“Hey, you—How could you say that out loud? You're nuts.”
“What? That's true. She had her whole body done, maybe that's why her attitude smells like a plastic.”
I laughed at what he said. He's gone mad. How could he tell this thing to me? Isn't he afraid I might tell Angel that he's talking bad behind her back?
“You laughed.”
“Who wouldn't? You badmouthed Angel.”
“I didn't. I just stated facts.”
“Pfft. Okay, but you're right. Honestly, I don't like her either.”
He nodded.
“I thought I'm just the one who noticed her bitchy attitude. Didn't know that a Trevor Vierro is quite observant.”
“I've got more than that, beautiful. Anyway, it's nice talking to you. I'll leave you here then. See you later.”
He left me in front of our van. Leila opened the door and went out.
“It's good to see you talking with the others, Zainea. Your vacation helped. That's right. Have a change, socialize. That's another milestone for a successful career.”
When Zainea was lying for a month in their house, after the accident, Megan told Zainea's management that she's having her vacation somewhere.
“Right, for a change. Let's go.”
We arrived at the church where we'll shoot the first scene. The first scene will be our church wedding.
“We have thirty minutes of preparation. Here.” Leila gave me a white wedding dress. “Wear it. I'll fetch your makeup artist outside.
We're given different rooms not far from the church. Trevor's team is just on the other side.
I finished wearing the dress. The makeup artist came and fixed my hair and makeup.
Zainea became more gorgeous. If I were a man, I would have court her. I would be a love rival of Zerro.
I'm now outside of the church with my acting father, waiting for the cue to enter.
We heard the wedding song as soon as the door of the church opens. We walked down the aisle to the altar.
Trevor is dashingly waiting in front of the altar.
“Take good care of my daughter, Kian,” my acting father said to Trevor. Kian is Trevor's name on this drama while I'm Cleophe.
“I will.”
The ceremony went on. So far, the director seems satisfied with our acting skills that he didn't cut us off. He's just waiting for this scene to be done.
“You may now kiss the bride,” one of the crews who acted as a priest said.
Trevor lifted up my veil.
Crap. Why didn't I think of this kissing scene? Stupid, Calais. No problem, eh?
I don't want to be kissed by a random man!
Trevor held my cheeks. He smiled.
What should I do? If I push him, we might take the whole scene again. The whole crew will be mad at me.
I was shocked when he pulled my face and granted me a kiss—no, he didn't kiss me. He put his thumbs on my lips and that's where his lips landed. He positioned his head blocking the camera, so the viewers won't notice what he did.
“Congratulations, husband and wife!” someone shouted.
Trevor smiled after that.
“Smile,” he mouthed.
With that, I smiled. Trevor's a nice guy. He didn't take advantage of me.
“Okay! Cut! To the next scene!”
Everyone fixed their things. Some are removing the decorations.
The director approached us.
“You two did great. I'm happy that I chose you as my actors. Keep it up,” he praised us.
“Our pleasure to work with you,” Trevor replied.
“I'll go first then. Prepare for the next scene.”
He left.
“Thank you.”
“For what?”
“For that.”
“Someone here is shy. Don't worry. I know you're not yet familiar with me, so I won't take advantage of you. As much as I can, I will help you go through all our kissing scenes. Without putting your precious lips on mine.”
“I'm not shy—”
“Zai, time to change your dress,” Leila interrupted us.
“O-Oh.” Leila assisted me.
Trevor is now talking to his manager when I turned to see him.
“Have you seen the next scene? I didn't know this drama contains some explicit scenes.”
“Wait, what?! You mean rated 18?!”
She nodded.
“Since they know that you're already married, they added some explicit scenes just earlier. I talked this thing with the scriptwriters and the director, but they refused to change it. They said, you should do it, since this will be the first and last. No scenes like this will be taken after that. Are you okay with that?”
What kind of work is this? Gosh, why did you enter in this kind of career, Zainea??
I sighed.
“I'll do it.”
“Are you sure?”
“I am.”
When we arrived at the house where we'll going to shoot almost all of the scenes, I immediately scanned the script Leila is saying.
Upon arriving at their house, Kian kissed Cleophe passionately. He carried Cleophe to their room while kissing her. Kian sat down in the bed while Cleophe is on top of him. The kiss went deeper. Kian unbuttoned Cleophe's shirt—WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?! Do we really have to do this?! Detail by detail?! Do I need to remove my shirt?!
Although I was informed that it will not go beyond that, I still don't want to shoot this. I didn't let my exes touch me, and yet I'm letting a stranger to do this to me? I must be crazy.
I only said yes to Leila because she looks so problematic.
I need to think of a way—hang on. I have someone I can rely on with this.
“Hello? Zayden?” Thank goodness, after he's in the mood to answer my call.
“Oh. Have you found where he is?”
Psh. So, Everytime I'll call, he'll just ask this? Can't I call him because I miss him or something like that?
“No. Not yet. Well, uhm, I-I have something else to say.”
“What? Make it quick. I'm busy.”
What a temper he has.
“Help... I can't do this. Help me.” I lowered down my voice.
He's an influential person, he can help me persuade the director not to shoot this scene.
“What? I can't hear you. Why the hell are whispering?! Where are you?”
“I said, help me. I can't do that explicit scene,” I repeated, enough for him to hear, I guess.
“I can't hear you! Damn it. What happened to that loud voice you have? Where are you?!”
“Ouch! Why are you shouting?! Why are you cursing at me?!”
The crew looked at me when I shouted. This is your fault, Zayden Constello.
I smiled at them.
“Uhm, sorry. I'm just practicing. Sorry. Don't mind me.”
“The nerve of you.” Zayden ended the call.
He's really abnormal! We really can't have a proper talk!
I tried to call him again, but he turned off his phone. Wow. Just wow! How nice of him!
So, in this situation, only Zainea can help. This is her work, after all. Why am I making this a big deal anyway? I'm so stupid. Why am I shouldering her problem when she can solve it on her own?
I went to the washroom of the house and locked the door.
