MRS. AMADEO'S POV “Have you found Zerro? Where is he?” “Yes, maam. I saw him entering the Constello Villa just now.” Constello Villa? Why did he go there? He's still seeing Zainea, isn't he? No. Zainea doesn't deserve to be happy. “Stick according to the plan. I'll be wiring half a million into your account.” “Mom, who's that?” She sat on the bed. “Nothing. Just one of my friends. We're planning to have a reunion next week. Anyway, you don't have a work?” “Yes. Tomorrow, I'll be joining the fashion show of Kyla. Mom, I'm going to be a famous model!” she excitedly said. “Good to here that. I'll just finish this call.” “Okay. Go ahead, mom. I'll just rest.” I walked to the bathroom and locked the door. Now that my daughter's future is starting to ascend, she shouldn't be involved in this. “I'll give you the rest if you successfully did what I told you. Remember, don't be caught or I'm dead.” “Expect a good news tomorrow, ma'am. You won't have any disappointment.” “Good. Leave the country once you finished your job.” Zainea Amadeo, I will make you kill yourself. This is just a beginning, sweetie. -------- CALAIS' POV “Good morning. Don't you have a work? You usually go to work before I wake up. Am I dreaming?” Zayden is busy reading some article on his iPad. The breakfast is still hot. Did he cook these? What happened last night that he's being nice today? Yesterday, I didn't go out from my room. I overslept. I don't know what time did his mom and Zerro go home. I've decided. I'll avoid Zerro as much as I can. I had a second thought on breaking his heart nor Zainea's. I tore the letter I wrote last night. I can't do that to the both of them, so avoiding him is the way I came up with. I won't also let Zainea took over her body until this is done. Another thing, I'm planning to have a month of vacation from Zainea's work. If the director will allow me. Hoping. “Have you decided?” he asked instead. “Uhm, yeah. But let's not talk about that. Although I'm not the one who found Zerro, you'll help me with the favor I asked, right?” “Hmm.” He nodded then took a sip from his coffee. Is he for real? “I have another favor to ask. Will you help me persuade the director to stop the shooting for a month? You see, Zainea's work is holding me back. I want to get my task done in that month or less.” He raised his head. I met his eyes. Uh, is he going to shout at me for requesting another favor? “Alright,” he agreed. “Really?! Why are you so nice today?! You're not sick, are you?” “Tss. I'm getting back what I said.” “Wait, wait, wait! No, you can't take back what you just said. Be a man of your words. It's settled then. You'll help me. So, uh, can you call the director today? I don't want to go to work.” He handed me his phone. “Enter his number.” “Didn't you know? Zainea has arithmophobia, so I don't know. I can't deal with numbers.” “Oh. But I don't have your director's number.” “Call Leila. She might have it.” “I don't have hers, too.” I frowned. Whose numbers then are in your contacts?? Aside from his secretary's number, who else passed through his contacts? Someone called on his phone. Tristan, the oh-so-loyal secretary. Why is he calling this early? Being a secretary of Zayden surely is tiring. You'll work early and very late at night. Is Tristan okay with that? “Boss, Miss Caileigh's meeting someone.” He got her followed. He's keeping his words. I don't know how to thank him after this. I hope I will be given the chance to return all the favors. “Who?” “I don't know, boss. I can't hear their conversation, but it's a man. He looks suspicious.” “Follow him after they're done talking. Don't make it too obvious.” “Okay, boss. I'll update you later.” “Hm. By the way, talk to Zainea's director, and tell him she won't be working for a month. Just say...” Zayden glanced at me. “I'm not yet ready to let her work. I need her time.” Pfft. Nice excuse you got there, husband. How many girls have you showered with sugar-coated words, huh? “Got it, boss.” The call ended. “I didn't know you have her followed. Why are you helping me? You don't know me that well.” Is he going to help anyone who need helps although he doesn't know him? Really? A cold-hearted Zayden Constello is actually a kind-hearted one? “You asked for help,” he simply said. “But you don't know me. Then, if another stranger asks for your help, will you lend a hand like what you're doing right now?” “You—” He stopped like he said something wrong. He coughed. “Zainea's not a stranger. I'm doing this for her.” All of a sudden, I felt a different pain from my heart. You heard that clearly, Calais? He's not doing this for you but for his wife. Why don't you see that he has a clear intention when he married Zainea? He even fought with Zerro. He wouldn't, if he doesn't love her, right? I like you, Zayden. I really do. “Then, Zayden Constello, don't worry. I'll finish this in time and leave.” We arrived at the restaurant Tristan sent us. When Caileigh saw us entering, she said something to the man in front of her. The man left in haste without setting his eyes on us. Gladly, Caileigh didn't notice how Tristan secretly followed her man. What is she planning now? Who is that man? “What a coincidence, President Constello! What are you doing here? Are you here for a date?” “Yes,” I answered her. “By the way, who's that man you're talking with? Boyfriend? Why don't call him back, and let's have a double date.” She smiled. “No. He's a friend. I just met him just now, so we had a little talk.” She looked at her watch. “And I may not be joining you. I'm meeting someone. Oh, President Constello, have you not seen the contract I sent you? I've been calling your secretary to make an appointment, but his line is always busy. How about we meet tomorrow?” She's so busy. With what? She's rushing everything, eh? “My secretary's running an errand. He's quite busy. About your proposal—” “Honey, you said this is our day. Are you going to talk about work the whole day? Just tell me, I'll leave.” I pretended to be irritated. The side of his lips went upside. “Ah. I'm sorry. Nevermind. Let's talk about it some other day, President Constello. I'm sorry to disturb you. I won't keep you then.” From where we are standing, I saw how Caileigh vent her annoyance when she entered her car. I know that expression. She usually does that when she didn't get what she wanted. Zayden gently tapped my head. “What will you do next? Are you really going to send her behind the bars?” That... I don't know. Maybe. But thinking what will happen to dad if he finds out that his daughters are fighting over the company he built and the other is determined to get rid of the other, I can't. I can't give him another pain, another heartbreak. “What do you think should I do?” I almost whispered. “Hmm.” His phone rang indicating that he received a message. He showed me the text message from Tristan. “Sorry, boss. I lost him.” Another message from an unknown number showed up. “Hey, this is Megan. Good news. Calais moved her finger!” “Y-Yah, Zayden. Did I read it right? My body's showing a progress? Hey, let's visit. Can we?” He signalled me to go. This is really good news for me. Does that mean I have the chance to live in my own body again? “Cal,” Zayden called me when we're outside the restaurant. He gave me his phone. I read the message Megan sent. “I don't know if this is bad news, but Zerro is here.”
