Chapter 10 conflicting perspectives

Here, my lovely readers, it becomes quite interesting... So, what do you think of the book?
Be honest, this type of feedback is crucial for me to improve the books that will come in the future!
If you're enjoying the book, please don't forget to give it a 5-star rating on the app, if it's not too much trouble, of course! That being said, I'll let you get back to reading and immerse yourselves in the short story of Emily and Sara.
The twilight painted the sky with warm hues as Emily and Sara found themselves in the living room, tension hanging in the air. A difficult topic loomed over them, ready to unleash an emotional clash.
"Sara, I understand your concerns about Melissa, but it's important to consider all perspectives," Emily began cautiously, knowing this conversation could test their relationship's limits.
Sara crossed her arms, visibly frustrated. "I can't understand how you can give her the benefit of the doubt after everything that happened. Betrayal is betrayal, Emily."
Emily lowered her gaze and sighed. "I know it's hard to comprehend, but try to see things differently. Put yourself in her shoes. Nothing is black and white. People sometimes make terrible mistakes but can genuinely regret them."
Sara's voice began to rise, emotions on the verge. "I saw how much Carlos suffered, Emily. He almost lost himself because of this betrayal. I can't accept that you want to give someone who caused so much harm a second chance."
Emily stood up, frustration evident on her face. "It doesn't mean I agree with what she did. But I believe in the possibility of people changing. And Carlos is strong enough to decide what's best for him."
The discussion was heating up. The exchanged words reflected the conflict tearing at their hearts. Carlos, the link between them, watched in silence, unsure how to intervene.
"I don't know if we can overcome this, Emily. It's a matter of principles," said Sara, her voice tinged with sadness.
Emily lowered her head, eyes welling up. "I don't want to lose our relationship over this, Sara. We've been through so much together."
Sara took a deep breath, fighting back tears. "I don't want to either. But I don't know if we can ignore our values."
Carlos finally found his voice, his distress evident. "Girls, please, I don't want to be the cause of discord between you. Can we find a way to reconcile our feelings and respect our differences? Besides, these issues are entirely mine; I share them with you because I love you."
And seeing that they weren't listening, he shouted, "STOP NOW."
Suddenly, the environment fell into complete silence after Carlos's shout. Emily and Sara realized that their argument was even bothering Carlos himself. They simply hadn't realized that he was the protagonist of that story; it was his feelings they were discussing.
Emily looked at Sara, a twinge of sadness in her eyes. "You're my girlfriend and my best friend, Sara, and you always will be. Let's find a way to overcome this."
Sara sighed, realizing that love was worth more than any disagreement. "Okay, Emily. Let's try."
The tension eased, but the scars of that discussion remained. The next day, tension lingered between Emily and Sara. The previous fight still echoed in their minds, and they found themselves at an impasse again, this time without Carlos to mediate the situation.
Sara's words, filled with hurt and distrust, echoed in the room. "You just need to betray me too and then come back asking for a second chance, since you agree with Melissa's ideas."
Emily felt helpless. "Sara, you know I would never do that. Our relationship is based on trust and love, and it hurts that you doubt me."
Sara took a deep breath, trying to contain the storm of emotions. "Sorry, Emily. It's just that the shadow of the past still hangs over us. I'm afraid of losing you."
Tears started to roll down Emily's eyes. "I'm afraid too, Sara. But we need to trust each other, or our relationship won't survive."
They locked eyes, the weight of words and emotions filling the room. The love they shared was being tested in a way they had never experienced before.
Sara took Emily's hand, seeking solace. "I love you, Emily. Just promise me we'll be honest with each other, no matter what."
Emily squeezed Sara's hand, her heart calming slowly. "I love you too, Sara. I promise I'll always be honest with you."
The tension began to subside, replaced by a mutual desire to overcome this adversity and strengthen their relationship. They knew there were still many obstacles ahead, but they were determined to face them together.
From that moment on, Emily and Sara began working on rebuilding their trust and love. They knew the path would be challenging, but the flame that united them was strong enough to overcome the shadows of the past.
