Chapter 14 United by the memory

Hello readers, I know the atmosphere is not good right now; we will miss Oliver! Thinking about it, we've all had an Oliver in our lives, right... It's tough, but there will always be a light.
What do you think? Have Emily and Sara found that light? That's what we're going to find out now.
- Nara
Many years had passed since the tragic loss of Oliver, Sara and Emily's loyal and loving dog, who was more than a pet; he was a family member and an endless source of joy for both. Time strengthened the bonds between Sara and Emily, turning friendship into a deep and enduring love, just as the fond memory of Oliver remained alive in their hearts.
Sara, a confident and resilient woman, decided it was time to take the next step in her life with Emily. On a sunny afternoon, in the park where they used to play with Oliver, Sara knelt down and asked Emily to marry her. With a warm smile and eyes full of love, Sara expressed her deepest feelings.
"Emily, over the years, we've shared so many precious moments and built a life full of love and happiness. I know I want to spend the rest of my days with you, facing every challenge and celebrating every triumph. Just as Oliver was always with us on our journeys, you are my light and inspiration. Would you marry me and continue our journey together?"
Emily, moved and radiant, responded with a bright smile, "Sara, you are the person I love more than anything in this life. Of course, I accept! I can't wait to build our future together and honor Oliver's memory in every step we take."
Excited by the news, they decided to share this happiness with Carlos, a dear friend who had always been by their side. Sara called Carlos and said, "Carlos, we have big news! Emily and I are getting married!"
Carlos was thrilled and congratulated them with enthusiasm. "That's wonderful! I couldn't be happier for both of you. Oliver would be proud to see the journey of love and happiness you're embarking on. I can't wait to celebrate this special moment with you."
Sara then added with determination, "Nothing, not even any resistance from my prejudiced family, will stop us from living our lives together. Our love is strong, and that's what truly matters."
Emily, brimming with joy, shared, "By the way, I told my parents about our engagement, and they are traveling to see us get married. They are so happy for us!"
They hugged each other tenderly, celebrating not only the love they had for each other but also the eternal memory of their dear four-legged friend, Oliver. Together, they knew that love united them beyond time and that Oliver would always be present in their lives, guiding them.
After the emotional engagement, Sara and Emily were eager to plan the celebration of their love and union. Sitting in their cozy living room, surrounded by cherished photos and memories, they began to outline the details of the wedding they had always dreamed of.
Emily suggested enthusiastically, "How about an outdoor party in the countryside? It would be perfect to reflect our connection with nature and our journey together."
Sara agreed, smiling. "Definitely! I imagine tables adorned with vibrant flowers and lanterns lighting the path at dusk. And, of course, blue and purple, Oliver's favorite colors, will be in every detail."
Excited, they began to discuss the bridesmaids' dresses. Emily suggested, "I thought of dresses in shades of blue and purple to honor Oliver and his favorite colors. They would look beautiful in the outdoor setting."
Sara agreed, thrilled. "Yes, and we could have flowers in their hair, complementing the colors of the dresses. It would be a beautiful tribute."
As for the venue, they agreed to choose a beautiful field surrounded by trees, with a decorated gazebo for the ceremony. Emily smiled at the thought of the moment they would exchange their vows of love and commitment under the flowers and the sunset light.
Emily suggested one more lively idea, "And what about having a space for kids to play and have fun? We can have games, a trampoline, a ball pit, those kinds of activities for them to enjoy while the adults celebrate."
Sara agreed, and thinking about the final details, she said, "It's going to be a wonderful day, celebrating our love, Oliver's memory, and the future we are building together. I can't wait to share this moment with all our friends and family."
Emily smiled, feeling blessed. "It's a dream come true. And we'll make sure every detail reflects our love and joy."
Thus, united by the memory, Sara and Emily continued to plan their dream wedding, looking forward to the big day that would seal their union and mark the beginning of a new and beautiful phase in their lives.
