Chapter 20: Day 6.

After Just knocking on the door once, it was opened immediately, but her eyes failed when she saw us, it looks like she was expecting someone else rather than us, I wonder who she might be expecting, because the Auntie Margaret I knew didn't know anybody, once there was a knock on the door of our home, I knew it was no other person than her, but for the meantime like now, this was still a different home to the one we lived in, this was a rich man's home. There's definitely a story behind Auntie Maggie's downfall, she can't be this rich in the past, just sixteen years earlier to now, and automatically became wretched. She was even wretched since I began gaining knowledge and that's sixteen years earlier too, which is unfortunately the present I am in now, that means, she got me this year and she automatically went poor this year too, but it hasn't happened yet.
She opened the door wide to let us in without trying to ask questions, you can tell that she's looking down, but was trying to hide it. Something still confuses me, though this isn't the right situation to start asking about this, but still, I have to know.
Williams once said that growing up, he lived on the streets with his friends and had nothing, how come is he related to Auntie Margaret here who looks wealthy and healthy?, That's still a puzzle that I am trying to bottle up inside and no one seems to notice that something is bothering me because their thoughts were somewhere else too.
She helped us sit down and relax, thanks to the food Caro happened to eat back at the restaurant, if not, by the amount of tears she has released since today, I don't believe she would still stay hydrated, she won't even get the strength to carry herself with the baby in her womb.
“ How's she doing girl?.... Auntie Maggie asked me, though Caro was with us here, she believes that she would say nothing negative about today, she would always respond positively, saying it's okay, but of us know nothing was okay about today.
“ I have been trying to calm her down, she's been thinking too much, causing herself emotional pain, I can't seem to help her with any of that, but at least I made her eat something which gives her and the health of the baby a good condition.....”, I replied, Caro wasn't even looking my side as if she wasn't bothered with my answers, it's actually truth, she knows it too.
“ That's good to hear, it's a pleasure having you around at a time like this.....”, she said, sitting just away from us, she's just trying to care, despite whatever is bothering her, possibly because of Williams disappearance. I think I should tell her about it too, that Williams called. Despite me not being a great fan of her, I still believe that she has to know that Williams was safe, she's possibly thinking about him and that's bothering her, maybe I should just put her mind to rest too.
“ If you're still wondering about Williams, I think you shouldn't, he's safe and sound, he called us and told us that we shouldn't come looking for him, that he would find us.....”. I can see the way she turned at me, a sign of relief come into his expression but was immediately replaced again.
“ That's a good News, I believe we should then wait for his return....”, she said, then looked away. “ Is there something else bothering you Auntie Margaret?....”, I questioned, now looking concerned, something I never did back then, I can possibly explain my emotions right now, I am possibly feeling pitiful to her because she too was concerned about the man who was guarding the family that accepted me in without a lot of interviews or questioning, just accepted me in because I was homeless like they thought, which was logically true, I was homeless.
She looked at me, then waved her head, she was about to speak when the home telephone began to ring, she stood up immediately and ran to get it.
I think it's possibly Williams calling her to let her know too that he's fine, or Williams might've called the restaurant and noticed we wasn't there, so he's calling Auntie Margaret to ask her whether we were here with her. She came back and sat down at her position, but now, she's looking relaxed, unlike the way she looked when she walked away to answer to the phone. “ Was that Williams asking for our whereabouts?....”, I asked curiously. She said that it wasn't Williams, instead it was her husband who was never at home, we never asked about him though when he came in, we didn't even asked, our thoughts definitely off from him.
I once knew of some wealthy men who came looking for Auntie Margaret back from where I came from, it wasn't actually a wealthy individual though, but more like men who were well built and putting on good outfits, they came asking about Auntie Margaret, saying that their boss was looking for her, I believed that she might've caused herself a problem then and knowing she works at a lot of places, I decided to have her back that particular day, telling them that they were at the wrong place, nobody who lived there goes by the name Margaret.
They never came back again, but seeing that Auntie Margaret is rich here in the past, I now felt like that visit had something more to it than a boss whom Auntie Margaret has messed up under.
Auntie Margaret said that her husband never came back home since last night, but just called now to let her know that some emergency came out with business, so he had to stay back to take care of something, saying he would be returning by tomorrow morning, I looked at the pictures on the wall, I guess this is the first time I am going to see her husband in person then, maybe that's one of the clues of what is about to happen in weeks or few months time, rendering her wretched and also about time I was dumped in front of her home.
